  2. I'm just saying, there are countless things I would spend MY money on before I purchased something that will only draw attention to myself.
  3. Those are hideous. Worth every penny? At $100 or what ever they cost, you must not have a house payment, car payment, insurance, etc, etc to pay for.
  4. I have one. I love it. It IS worth the $100 if you actually use it for training and not just a way to loosen up before a round. I would be surprised if anyone could create something on their own with stuff lying around the house. I have a the Speed Stik that Vijay endorsed for the longest time and the orange whip is hands down a better swing aid. It'll help everyone from a beginner to a scratch golfer.
  5. I cheer against Tiger. If he cheated on his wife, I don't trust him to not cheat at golf. i.e. driver face shaving, performance enhancing drugs, balls moving just a little bit after being addressed and so on. I also tend to cheer against Sergio.
  6. I love my Nickent 4DX hybrids. You should definitely check them out. You'll probably be glad you saved money compared to Callaway, Adams or TaylorMade.
  7. I picked up a Nickent 4DX 17* and loved it so much I dropped my 3 iron and added a 20* to match. Prior to that I had a Mizuno Fli-Hi which I liked but I couldn't work it left and right as much as I'd like to so I'm happy with the ease of hitting the Nickent's. Also, you can find Nickent anything for about 50% of what Titleist or Callaways would cost you.
  8. A USGA handicap is pretty cheap and worth the cost. There are other benefits to joining besides having a handicap that you can bring to any course and play against anyone fairly. You also typically get a local (state/region) magazine, bag tag, and help sponsor USGA/local/state events. It's also a great way to track how your game is improving or going downhill over the span of many years.
  9. It looks like the grooves are pretty worn. I'd replace it with a 2010 wedge quickly before they get to be more and more rare and thus expensive. You WILL notice a difference coming into the greens out of the rough or shots from tight lies when you pinch down on it.
  10. Just remember that after a 50% loss, you need a 100% positive gain just to get back to where you were before you lost any money. I hate math sometimes!
  11. Congrats on getting accepted anywhere. I'd recommend going to the schools and taking the tour. Once you're there, you'll figure out if you feel "home" there. When I went for my undergrad, I was amazed how different some schools look in person compared to web-sites or brochures. Good luck!

The corporate sponsors have to make sure people watch their sponsored bowl games so the 5 game suspension is a compromise. With the soft non-conference schedule, this is a pretty soft penalty.
  13. I'd miss the snow and change of seasons but this is getting ridiculous. In a two week span, we had more than 38" of snow. It's been a record December for snowfall at nearly 50" and some in the forecast for new year's eve. I'm worried when we'll be able to get on the courses around here!
  14. I think our course is going to foreclosure auction and might sell for about $400K. That's not too shabby of a price with a lot of potential.
  15. Ping stand bags are as good as they come. I had a Hoofer for 10 years with over 100 rounds per summer. When I sold it, it still had some life left in it.
