Other than the fact that Moe kept the ball away from him and had his arms extended to be straight with the club shaft (which is why it is called single axis) it is a single plane swing. Also look at the pics.. http://www.moenorman.com/gallery.htm at full back swing and at contact, he looks the same as Jones, Nickulas, Palmer. Really I think Count Yogi had one of the most different swings as he intentionally, along with the big hip move (like in natural golf and like Bobby Jones) would sweep the club flatly along the ground and never took divots. And my point is not everything works for everybody, it worked for Moe and some others, but until someone starts winning on the tour with it is hard take as comparable to what is recognized as correct. And besides that the Natural Golf system is not exacatlly what Moe did,, He had a hip turn before impact which is not what they teach in NG.. A few years back I played the NG way,, and the more I got away from it and toward the standard way of playing the better I played.. And now I'm adding some of the ideas of Count Yogi and getting better again (but not the sweeping to avoid divots part). My point is whatever works for a person it the right thing to do...

On the Golf Channel the other day they had a show on balance, and how to train for it. It was very interesting.. One of the easist ways to check you balance is to stand on one foot as long as possible with your eyes closed. They said virtually all the pros can do this for over a minute easy. I never thought about it before but I play all year round here in Florida but my best seems to be at the end of summer and early fall. And there seems to be a connection to the balance issue, as I also surf during the warm months and my balance surfing is always it's best in the early fall before I put my board up.

I think it is totally irrelevent. look at swings across the years from the best, say, Nickulas, woods, Palmer, Bobby Jones. Some very different swings here. And look at Count Yogi,, he played as well or better than all of them (wasn't allowed on tour back then because he was Native American) Again totally different. The one common thread was they all started young, copying the swings of the best players they knew until they found what worked for them. There is nothing wrong with a single plane swing if it works for a person, but even among the dual plane convention there are countless contridictions on what one should do. I have taken lessons from several different pros, I take what works for me from each lesson and move on. I'm the only person that can swing my clubs for me, and I have to believe in what I'm doing. For the most part, the things you are suppose to do for a single plane swing just don't seem to work for me.

Per the Nike web site,, in seems the CPRs are only available in standard length and lie and a choice of graphite shaft in A, R or S OR steel shaft in uniflex. I'm sure the ones for sale on the Rockbottom Golf site are steel uniflex.

check out these.. http://www.rockbottomgolf.com/complete.html these are pretty cheap http://www.rockbottomgolf.com/irons-ironsets.html The Wilson and Nike with hybirds are both very good for a cheap beginner sets. http://www.rockbottomgolf.com/woods-woodsets.html

Still, around here most of the courses, except TPC and the two at World Golf Village, are built through communities. They are usually narrow, with either OB on both sides or OB on one and water on the other almost never having two holes run next to one another. Like stated before they often start sloping away toward the OB or hazard just a few yards off the fairway. And supposedly to help us not so good golfers, they keep the rough short, which allows that not too far off the fairway shot to roll OB or into the hazard. The local courses that are the exception to this are, like TPC and World Golf Village, very expensive. When I can afford to play these better designed courses I enjoy myself more and actually score better. Personally I believe that unless it is a tournement, OB should be just like a hazard, drop two clubs from where is crossed the boundry, not closer to the pin with a one stroke penalty. It would make it more enjoyable for the average golfer and would speed up play.

In the article he agrees with stroke and distance on OB because he has never seen a course with less than 30 yards from fairway to OB, and they usually are open on the other side. He has obviously never played where I play.. the course by my house has several holes that are OB on one side and water on the other.. one of the holes like this has 30 yards on both sides but with such a sever slope away from the fairway that 10 yards either side rolls to either OB or water. If in the water I get to drop about where it went it in, but OB stroke and distance, I don't think it is right, especially when the OB is just woods. Woods should just be another hazard.

I had tested several clubs last fall, and was planning to buy the Nike Pro-combos as they felt great, but then went to Lauden Golf near my house and they had KZG Forged Evolutions. I like the feel of them even better than the Nikes and got a full set custom fit for only about a $100 more than the Nikes would have cost. http://www.kzgolf.com/forged_evolution.php

Opps, sorry.. Nicklaus won 18 majors, 10 by the time he was 31.. Anyway,, IMHO.. comparing golfers in their prime to golfers in there prime,, Bobby Jones is the greatest golfer every. And for whole career (which Bobby Jones didn't really have one to compare to) it is Nicklaus. But I find it exciting to watch Tiger as he close to taking over the best in his prime, and has the potential to take over best whole career (of course it will be quite sometime before we will actually know that)

What cured my slice (and it's been a habit for many years) was a combination of lessons working on the inside/out swing, and watching the old Bobby Jones "How I play golf" Videos.. I now start my downswing with my lower body instead of my hands and I try to make sure I fully shift my weight to my front foot BEFORE contact. I now can fade anytime I want and can draw about 50% of the time I want. If I swing too hard I will still fade when I don't want to, and when I ease up too much my hands get in front of my weight shift and I will hook or pull, but very, very seldom do I now fall back to the many year old habit of slicing.

Define chip! I think of chipping as using from a SW to an 8 Iron like a putter with lots of roll, and actually trying to make it or get close as if I were putting. I acutally use the exact same stance and motion as with my putter, but often with a longer swing. Well back in my stance and with no wrist at all. Now pitching is a totally different animal.

Jones also won 13 majors in his career,, which ended at age 30. Nicklaus won 14 majors total, 10 by the time he was 31. Woods now has 10 majors total, and he is 29.

She, along with Wie are bringing spectators to the tournaments, making the sponsers and promoters more money than than most of the pros on either the LPGA or PGA.. Irregardless whether they are allowed to be "official" members of the tour, they should be paid as the professional athletes they are. Personally I find it a much sadder commentary that we allow promoters to make money off of children and not give them anything. Tennis allows pros under 18. I don't see any difference.
