    Need Advise

Thanks for all the free advise guys. I talked to him today and all is well. He was not upset about it at all and why should he have been. It was a good day I broke 80 for the first time in a month and a half.
  2. The question I pose is "What is your favorite club and why? What kind of control do you have with it. ie: Can you use it from different yardages say from 150 and in? How versatile are you with it? Mine is my 9 iron. I use it anywhere from 140 and in when I need to control my trajectory. I will even use it to for chipping around the green, I've chipped in more times with it than any other club. I wouldn't say my distance control with it is excellent but it's pretty good.

I need some help guys. Our foursome has one fellow (I'll call him Dan)that likes to stand behind you when your putting to get a read on the line. He only does this when your on the same line as him. How do I politely tell Dan to stop this. If he is standing still it really doesn't bother me, but it's bugging the shit out of another guy (I'll call him Bob) in our foursome, and Bob has told Dan several times not to do it. So now Dan is doing it to me and Bob says I should tell him to stop! These guys are all 20 years my senior, we are a very competitive bunch and I like them a lot. I don't want to piss anyone off. What do you think?
  4. I played today and posted my second 82 in a row. Which is closer to my cap finally. Our course is par 35 and 37 on the back. I shot 39/ 43 with 2 doubles on the back(that sucks). I scrambled really well on the front 5 for 6 up and downs. So all in all it was a scramblly round but it's an improvement and I'll take it.
  5. When we play Vegas, if we have one player not as good as the rest we change partners every 6 holes, that way everyone has to play with him. Also we've used our handicaps, and this will even it out.

    Summer Heat

Try some Gator aid, lots of those elcetrolites, cold wet towels for your head and neck, maybe.
  7. OK, I would like to know what kinds of games everyone likes to play on the course, and what do you wager? So much per hole or per stroke. What do you like to play? Myself, our foursome mostly plays skins and the skins are 25 cents each, plus we play double for birds ans KP's also. it's not high stakes by any means, but it still keeps you focused on your game. The guys I play with back home are a little more adventurous and sometimes we play for $5 a hole. That's way too rich for my new foursome(just joined this year) My favorite games are Vegas for 10 cents a stroke, and wolf for a $1 ea per hole.

    Summer Heat

I played yesterday and it was by far the nicest day yet this spring. Temp was around 28*C and man what a difference it made as far as distance was concerned. I used a new Bridgestone B330S and was averaging 285 yds off the tee, with my longest drive being 316 yds.(I use a sky caddie GPS). This was easily 10 to 12 yds further than any other ball I have used this season. I have a golfer's handbook and keep track of my stats. Lately I've also been tracking what ball I've been using. I guess now that it's hot out, to make a fare comparison I will have to go back to each brand of ball I've used and try again. Man I love summer long drives and short skirts. lol
  9. I shot an 82 today, 37 on the front and stumbled to a 45 on the back. 4 doubles on the back and 5 pars. Some mental errors on the back but overall it's the best round for me in a month, which has seen my cap go from 8 to 11. But things are getting much better.
  10. Silvertree You have a great set of irons, I read lots of mags. too and it's hard not to get caught up in all the hype of the new stuff, but I think the irons you and I play are as good as it gets. Maybe in a couple more years I will be able to justify a new set. Good luck and hitem straight.
  11. Have you ever put new grips on your G2s? The reason I ask is you have an excellent set of clubs right now!! I personally play the i3 blades, they're about a year older than the G2s, and I love them. I've re-gripped them several times(at least once per year) and they play like they did when I bought them. If they get beat up from rocks and wear and tear then I'll replace them, but until the technology improves they are great for me.
  12. Well my goals for this season are like everyone elses. I started the season at a 6.8 index, and since have climbed up to a 9.0 that's puts my cap up 2 strokes. Not the start I wanted, but I see light at the end of the tunnel. My fairways hit are climbing steadily and with that the greens in reg will improve also. So my goals for 2007 are : Cap down to a 4 or lower, fairways hit 65%, greens in reg. 65%, Scrambling 50%, Putting 1.67/hole (30 putts) Driving distance 280+(I use a sky caddie to check my distance on every shot). I am going to play in at least 2 tournaments this year and I would like to win my flight in both. The one bright spot so far this year has been my sand play, overall I'm 57% for sand saves and 6 for my last 6. I'm quiet happy with that.
  13. I’ve been watching him on the golf channel as they are carrying the first 2 days of the Player’s. He’s been using an iron off the tee for position, but it’s definitely not working. He’s missed the fairway each time. Then he will smash a driver down the middle. I don’t get it. He’d better get in gear or he won’t make the cut.
  14. I wear Fooyjoy contuors and I also have a pair of Ecco gortec. They are both very comfortable and were right out of the box. http://www.thegolfaholic.com/rts/ind...30&siteid;=1606
  15. I hit my 6 iron anywhere from 175 to 185, my swing speed is 95mph with my 5 iron.
  16. The best advise I can give is to be positive. Try thinking about what you want to happen not what you don't want to happen. A good pre-shot routine is the best way to combat this. Make it short but be consistent with it, do it exactly the same every time. It helps with the nerves, trust me on that. Just slow down and try to keep a smooth tempo.
  17. My playing partner uses them all the time. He loves them. He has a slower swing speed, and he gets good distance with it and says he likes the soft feel around the greens.
  18. Thanks for the feedback.
  19. Augusta National-Payne Stewart, Fred Couples, John Daly
  20. I use 3 wedges at the moment and I'm adding a 4th. Ping i3 blade PW 47*, Ping i3 blade UW 52*, and a cleveland CG10 58* standard bounce. I'm adding a CG10 56* low bounce.
  21. To my knowledge callaway did change the cover on their tour balls to improve durability. As for the hot hx read this. http://www.thegolfaholic.com/rts/ind...84&siteid;=1606

    sandbaggers

I entered a men's open tournament a couple years back at my home course. I was an 11 cap at the time. The first day of the tourney I shot a 74 for a net 63. I was new to the course but had played with a few members and at a few men's nights. So they knew how I played. The second day of the tourney I posted an 81, I ended up winning overall low net for the tournament. I took some ribbing but it was all in fun. I guess my point is it's possible but very unlikely if your playing to your cap. I had a career round and it just happened to be in a tournament. I've seen both sides of the coin. Guys that enter only their high scores and guys that only enter their low scores. They are only hurting themselves. Pretty soon the guy who only enters his high scores, no one wants to play with and the guy that only enters his low scores won't play for anything because he can't shot his cap, and always losses. Sandbaggers are everywhere.
  23. Have you tried any of them? Go to a demo days close to you and try as many as you can. Only you will be able to decide whats right for you. Good luck.
  24. Get my cap down to a 5 or less, play in more tournaments.
