  1. you keep your wrist hinge on the downswing very well. what i think everybody is talking about is you backswing is very handsy. looks to me that you start your backswing with your hands. it should be a one peice takeaway starting with your arms and then hinging your wrists. seems to me your doing both of these things both at the same time.
  2. here's a drill that i always liked. take your normal backswing but pause at the top and count to 2 seconds then take your downswing. this will teach your brain that there is a pause at the top of the swing which should make you start your downswing with your hips. i also like the this drill. instead of taking a full 100 percent swing. take a swing at 50 percent of the speed and 50 percent of the effort. kind of like slo motion swing. this gives your brain enough time to notice were everything is during the swing and gives you enough time to think to start with the hips first.
  3. its better but your still taking it outside a little bit. i would still suggest putting a shoe bow or something there so you can take it outside. the one other thing i see is your flipping at it. try keeping your wrists hinged for as long as possible. one thing you can do is take your backswing, take your right hand off and hook the shaft with your right index finger. then take your downswing and you can pull the shaft back with your right finger to ingrain the feeling in your mind. look at this: http://www.golfdigest.com/golf-instruction/2011-02/david-leadbetter-lag
  4. a bowed wrist at the top isnt really a bad thing. just look at dustin johnsons swing. i would though try to change your backwing and get rid of that outside path. you dont have to if you dont want but i think changing it would lead to more consistent golf shots. if you do want to fix it just get a show box and but it to the right of the ball and back a little bit. if you take the club outside you will hit the box.
  5. looks like you start the club on a outside path. look at 8 seconds at the video above of your 7 iron
  6. you club face angle is horrible at the top of your swing. your laid off a ton. you club face is pointing up at the sky.
  7. yes, i like the players i teach to keep everything pretty centered over the ball. this makes it easier to get back to impact position correctly. the takeaway should be two pieces. first your hands move back and you cock your wrists till your arms are parallel to the ground then you start your body to complete the full turn. then on the downswing you start your lower body first which puts the club into the perfect position to release the clubhead for solid contact.
  8. driver-310 5wood-250 3 iron-220 4-210 5-190 6-180 7-170 8-160 9-150 pw-135 52-125 56-110 60-70
  9. keep your elbow close to your body and really exaggerate the right wrist turning over the left on the follow through. left wrist should be parallel to the target at impact.(i.e. get your left wrist back to were it was at setup) you can also drop your left foot back a little bit to help hit the ball right to left.
  10. i would say drop your hands a little bit at address. also rotate your hips a little more through impact. your hips should be almost facing the target at impact and yours looked a little closed. with your shallow swing plane its very important to get through the ball keep your wrist hinged on the downswing for as long as possible. seems like your flipping at the ball a little. the big thing i saw in your swing was your takeaway. on your takeaway it looked like your body started moving back with your arms. you have to start you backswing with you arms until they are parallel to the ground then start you lower body. think of it as a two piece takeaway rather than one fluid motion. this is probably why your takeaway is a little inside like Tifosinumerouno said.
  11. personally i think your follow through is a little to upright. it looks like a colin montgomerie follow through. this could be restricting your hip turn. if you shallow out your follow through i think it might help. for me i think its hard to properly turn you right wrist over enough to with a high follow through
  12. not to be rude but your swing it really not good. -you grip has to be totally redone, it his bad and i dont know how you hit the ball like that -you start the club on an outside path -your follow through has to be lower.(more like throwing a frisbee than throwing a bag of potatoes over your shoulder) -you do have a chicken wing but thats because of your follow through. with that follow through there is no way you can rotate your right hand over your left to properly release the club
  13. watch this, it might help you with your alignment. http://www.pgatour.com/video/r/instruction/swing_coaches/2010/11/17/instr_foley_alignment_dotcom295.pgatour/index.html
  14. here's what i see. -to much lower body movement, no real drive into the ball -keep you head up, see you when you rotate you shoulder is over your chin? you shoulder should be under your chin.
  15. thread for discussion on this weeks tournament. it has been delayed because of frost.
  16. looks like your follow through is a little high. if your hitting a draw shouldnt your follow through be a little lower. plus you usually want to match your follow though with your backswing.
  17. very nice swing, but a few small things wrong. just tell us whats wrong with your swing, how you hit the ball and what you want to fix.
  18. very nice swing, at a 2 handicap you really just need practice to fine tune everything. just a point on your transition.if you want to slow it down a but here is a little drill. take your normal backswing and then hold it at the top and count to 2. then take your downswing. this trains you brain that there should be a pause before starting the downswing and should smooth things out and create more consistent ball striking.
  19. seems like you have a pretty wide stance for an iron. that looks like a stance for a driver. and looks like you take the club inside and then you are coming over the top alot. work on getting more of a one plane swing. i would straighten your posture a bit by standing taller throughout the swing. looks like you are bent over like you are putting. keep you head up, this helps with getting a good shoulder turn. i like to think about pointing your chin at the ball. you have to hing your wrists alot more on your backswing. this makes for more consistency. half way through you backwing your club shaft is parallel to the ground when it should be perpindicular
  20. the club face is the biggest problem. the chicken wing elbow isnt that big of a deal. i mean look at nicklaus he had it.
  21. a little like john daly i think. flatten out your plane a little bit. you wrists look a little cupped to me. plus i have a feeling you might be swinging a bit to hard. remember irons should only be hit at 80 percent. cant properly swing the club and release if you swing to hard. its about speed not how hard you hit it. if you do everything right the speed will come you shouldnt have to force it. - i also see a little bit of a hip slide on your backswing.
  22. you do have a shallow swing plane which is why you are blocking the ball. You can keep you shallow swing plane or you can steepen your shoulder plan. if you want to keep a shallow shoulder turn here is what you have to concentrate on to get better ball contact. 1. work on alignment. make sure everything is aiming were it should be. 2. aggressive body turn through the ball 3. hip rotation rather than a hip thrust(your right foot should be nearly flat on the ground) 4. arms closer to body 5. bigger shoulder turn. get your left shoulder behind the ball and the right shoulder behind the left at the top of the swing. 6. post up your left leg one last thing i just noticed, you didnt really take a divot, looked like you were trying to help the ball up a little bit. try keeping your wrists cocked until the last second of impact.
  23. looks like a very good swing for a 20 handicap. what do you have problems with in your swing. do you slice it, push it, top it. exc. Once we know how you hit the ball we can better help you. i didnt see much wrong with it. Your posture looks a little bent over to me and you look like you have a very low plane to your swing like a matt kuchar does. with a shallow swing plane like that you have to do a lot of work to get the club back in the right spot. i would suggest looking a kuchars swing on youtube.
  24. everything is important but there are four things that i always have emphasis on when i teach somebody. 1. alignment 2. putting 3. posture 4. ball contact alignment is important because you cant hit the ball in the fairway or on the green if your not aiming there. I like to say play with what you got. if you have a slice you can still play well as long as you aim far enough left. putting is always important and i think is the most underlooked part of the game. If you can put good you can take 6 strokes or more off your score. i dont think enough people concentrate on putting. people will go buy a 300 dollar driver but not a 300 scotty cameron. posture is extremely important. tall stance with your head up. no body swaying, keep your head still, eye on the ball. if you change your posture throughout the swing you wont hit the ball like you want.
