Hey guys. What do you suggest is the best way to reach out to local golfers? I have a charity foundation for children's cancer and a sponsor reached out to me and said that if I have a scramble style golf tourney he will donate a $5,000 cash prize for a closest to the pin prize. Obviously that would create a lot of buzz. I could do $1,250 on each of the par 3s or mix it up. This sponsor is so generous that I think I could do this in multiple states. My question is besides Facebook is there a way to reach out to local golfers? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I'm sure at most the ball was barely rolling up to the guys feel. I think he overreated.

I can't believe this thread is still kicking. Dan will never win the B flight of a Club Championship. Can't believe there is any type of debate about playing on the PGA Tour. The whole thing is so stupid! He's probably about a 7-8 handicap on a real course. I hate when people say he's a 2-3 handicap. There's no way.
-
All I am asking is, when it gets to match play should the 80% be void, or do you think the 80% handicap should continue on to the match play? Qualifying was net (80% handicaps).. top 16 qualified

It's 4 ball 2vs2 To make it easy. Our home course handicaps are: 5, 7, 12, 16 The simple question is do the 3 high players get 100% 2, 7 and 9 strokes or 80% 2, 6, and 7 strokes?

At my course we have a net tourney with 80% handicaps top 16 teams qualify for four ball match play. We qualified and won our first match today. We all play off of the low handicap. The handicaps are 5, 7, 12 and 16. My question is: The higher 3 handicaps. Do they get 80% off of the low ball? Or do you think you should get 100% Thanks for your input.

Been struggling all year with a lazy swing and blocks and fades to the right. Went from a 4.6 all the way up to a 10! I started toying with my swing and remembering to finish high and hold my finish which kinda forces you to make a good swing. I'm back in the 70s and even have my old 5 yard draw back. Psyched to play good golf the rest of the year.

Thanks im going to try this tomorrow. It felt weird at first, but by the end of the lesson and this morning i was hitting the ball much better. I got myself in such a bad habit, that it became permanent. -

I took a lesson last night to go over my problems. Right away the pro noticed that I was releasing my hips too soon. At the top of my swing he's trying to me to move my hands instead of already turning my hips. Make sense? Anyone have any drills that'll help with this? Also is it easy to post a video? -

Thanks. I'm open to all advice. Golf is so maddening. I can't explain how many times I've said " I finally got this game!" next thing you know i can't do anything right. -

1 more thing i should add. This is ONLY with my woods. -
My index has went from a 4.6 to a 10.1 in about 5 card changes. I haven't been over a 7 in about 20 years. My last jump went from a 6.8 to a 10.1. I'm noticing that I am having a lot of blocks and fades during my rounds. Some of them are starting right of the fairway and slicing. I'm literally missing the fairway by 50-75 yards. I'll have other holes where I'll stripe it 300 yards center cut. The inconsistency is driving me bonkers. I notice on the fades my body is wide open on contact. Any advice would be appreciated.

I need tips to avoid my horrible start to each round
Todd Ruggere replied to Todd Ruggere's topic in Golf Talk
There is a driving range near the 1st tee where you can get 30 ball buckets for $3 (irons only). So you can hit a few before you start. It doesn't seem to matter though, its crazy. This has been going on for 10+ years. The tourneys i am usually in are different formats of 4 man teams, so i can get away with it. When I am in tourneys that are medal play I'm behind the 8 ball immediately. -
There is no one in the history of golf that starts off more poorly than me. I regularly shoot 44-36 and scores like that. I never par the 1st couple holes. The other day i started off Double, Triple, Double, then played the next 11 holes -2. I do it EVERY round. It's crazy. The way i start bad is completely random. I could be shanking, slicing, hooking, hitting ground balls, or anything. Then all of a sudden on the 4th or 5th hole I'm hitting it pure. Does anyone have any tips for me besides going out and playing 9 holes before every round? I also do this on the driving range. This morning i got a tiny bucket (30 balls). I know going in that the 1st 15 or so will be fat, thin, grounders and the final 15 will be back to my old self. Help. I'm sick of this.

I remember playing in a scramble and the team in front of us only had 3 players so the good golfer was hitting 2 shots every time. I remember being so pissed. One of my co workers came in today and said he and his friend showed up for a scramble yesterday and were -16 they hit 2 shots every time. They are both low handicaps. I said, "If i was another team I'd be pissed"! I don't see how they could ever be allowed.

I am actually for the tournament play. He won't do it though. I think we'd all have more respect for his project if he put up a couple decent scores in tourneys thank posting rounds in the 70s during practice rounds.

The thought that all the media outlets possibly thinking he's 2 or 3 shots away from being pro is maddening! If he played at Pinehurst he'd be 30+ shots behind the best score each day. It's a joke!

My home course, Highfields Golf Course has my all time nemesis hole. The 16th hole is 441 from the middle tees, Par 4. All the way up the right hand side is OB, and starting at about 240 yards off the tee all the way up to the green there is a huge pond on the left side. If you hit your driver you have to be dead straight. The fairway is about 25 yards wide I'm guessing. If you hit the left side of the fairway it all runs towards the water. If you bail out your tee shot to the left there is thick rough before the pond. I would say my lifetime scoring average on that hole is about 5.5. Lately I've been trying to hit a 3 iron off the tee, but even with a good tee shot I still have a good poke to the green. The hole is a complete monster from the black tees measuring 481 yards. http://www.highfieldsgolfcc.com/club/scripts/golf/view_course_scorecard.asp?GRP=6838&NS;=GO&APP;=33

Shot 78 today. That's pretty impressive. Looks like she had 3 bad holes. I was expecting her to shoot in the low 80's. I wonder how far she hits the ball. I'm guessing around 200. She's only 11! I hope we see more of her in the future. Seems like a good kid. -
Haven't read through all 19 pages so don't know if this one was said, but my friend swears the biggest D-Bag on tour is Gary Woodland. He's told me a couple stories. Like most on here, its 2nd and 3rd hand so who really knows.
