Hello - Getting back in the game (Seattle, WA)
jeetaa6 replied to huskylawyer's topic in Welcome, Everyone
Hi. Welcome. I just joined here last week. Haven't seen any other sites that are too active. I'm with you and getting back into the game after 4 years away. Got the bug something fierce. But alas, I'm in Nebraska and will continue to practice my putting and pitching (foam balls) around the house till Spring. You mentioned you'll need to buy a putter. I've got some nice putters I'll be selling. Have bought quite a few off ebay and craigslist this winter towards deciding which few to keep. Just looking to get my money back on them (break even). Let me know if you're interested in looking at my list. You'll get a better deal than retail. I've put a great bag and used/new mixed club set together via ebay and other online sites since November. Would post my equipment in my Signature but the site still won't let me after 16 posts and more than 7 days on here. Not sure what's going on with that. Anyways, welcome to the Sandtrap! Tom -

Myrtle Beach - Mid April - Course Evaluation?
jeetaa6 replied to SpacklersEdge's topic in Golf Courses and Architecture
I'll take you up on the offer to share the company you got that package from, please. I'm planning a fall trip with a friend. Would it be more expensive in the fall (Sept or Oct) than the spring in MB? Just curious. Thanks for sharing and have a great trip in April. -
Stopped playing after the 2006 season due to $$ redirection (kids get more expensive as they get older-this just in) and due to my on course temperment. Got down to a 4 HC and got to the point where I couldn't accept blowing up on a hole...expecting perfection basically. Hard to explain. It just got more frustrating than fun so it was time for a break. Had no idea it would turn into a 4 year break.

Tiger...and I rooted against him way before November 2009. Not crazy about Poulter, either.

Thanks for the welcome. Regarding the putters I currently have in hand, here they are: YES! Sophia YES! Madison Odyssey White Steel Tri Ball SRT Odyssey White Hot Tour #7H (Selling this one) Odyssey DF550 - from years ago MacGregor V-Foil MOI M6.4K - from years ago On the way...freshly purchased via ebay: Heavy Putter L3 Mid Black Mallet Nike IC 20-20A Trying them out to see which to keep and which to sell. Not much else you can do in Nebraska winter! As of this moment, my favorites are the White Steel Tri Ball (the visual on that is EXCELLENT and it's VERY easy to pendulum dead straight) and the YES! Sophia due to mainly the look and feel. Beautiful stick. Can't wait to get outta the living and dining room and putt outside!

wise move...

I had the exact same problem....when I missed, it was with my driver and it was a hook / duck hook left. I kept trying different things (open stance, turning right hand to left for less strong grip, moving ball forward, backward) but nothing worked. UNTIL someone showed me that I needed to turn my LEFT hand to the left to produce a less strong grip. Worked like a charm. Give it a try? Of course, feels weird at first but then the lighter grip settles in nice with no duck hooks.

Odyssey Insert Comparisons
jeetaa6 replied to La Costa Golfer's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I seem to like the double insert White Steel putters now. Grabbed a 3 Ball SRT one off ebay and LOVE that thing. So much that I'm going to turn around and sell the brand new White Hot Tour 7H I bought in December off ebay. I also have a YES Sophia and YES Madison and really like both of them as well. The one of the 4 which feels too different to me is the White Hot Tour insert. To each his own I suppose. -
Your Top 5 Must-Haves In Your Bag
jeetaa6 replied to nikeman6's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
Besides the basics to actually play the game, my top 5 are: Sunscreen Golf gloves Medical tape Towel Permanent marker -
I'll suggest NOT putting any money into the site, after my experience. It's a bidding site where you MAY get a ridiculous deal on golf items, household items, retail store gift cards, all kinds of stuff. But to me, it's kinda like gambling. You MAY hit one of these great deals for a dirt cheap cost, but how much money did you put into the site before you got that deal...and when you add it up, are you really coming out ahead? Anyway, my opinion on a totally random topic.

Frickin' DITTO on that!! Nebraska here. You??

Cut Putter down to 33" Where to add lead tape?
jeetaa6 replied to Laoch Draoi's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I've put lead tape on one of my putters and never had a scuffing the ground problem. Put some tape on my Odyssey DF550 years ago and it really helped me stay on line through the putt. Had a guy from Golf USA put the lead tape on actually. He did a good job and like I said, I never had a problem sticking to the ground while putting. Just make sure there are no air bubbles...that it's really flattened out completely on the sold. I would put the tape on the sole before blocking your sight line...my suggestion only. -
I voted Mizuno as best iron overall but I've got sets of Callaways right now. Times being what they are, I went with the best deals I could on 2 used iron sets via ebay (will be paring it down to 1 set prior to spring). After hitting the Callaway X16 Pro Series & the X Tour Forged, I'm fine with where I'm at. But, if I could pick any set of irons I wanted, regardless of price, I'm pretty sure I'd end up with a set of Mizuno's. I hit the MX15's before I took my golf "respite" the past 4 years. Loved those clubs - long, solid, forgiving. Sold them regrettably. Anyway....

Wow, did I pick the wrong time to catch golf fever in Nebraska after 4 years away or what??!!! Just joined this site and am looking forward to discussions and seeing the different equipment choices you all use. I don't seem to have the option to edit my Signature yet. Read something about having to post a few times? I'll figure it out. Anyway, back with golf fever after stopping cold turkey at the end of 2006 for various reasons. Been on craigslist and ebay buying and selling like crazy since November getting ready for the spring. Have collected 4 putters off ebay in the last 2 months. Changing putters is a "hobby". That's actually how I found this Sand Trap site...reading all the reviews and forum discussions about the clubs I was looking at. Well, looking forward to the discussions, learning, laughs, etc... Thanks, Tom
