None of us have a true handicap. We know what it would be around but nothing set.

Thats not really a rule but more of an inconsiderate thing to do. I always look around to see if it could be someone elses ball before i pick it up.

Well i mostly play with my friends and usually all I have to say to them is watch that tree/water/bunker. Even if it should be totally out of play I can usually get them out of sync. I don't say it during their back swing because i just feel that is dirty and really cheating. I know when they mess me up they will start saying i got my distance wrong and just say its like 10 longer and 10 shorter and really get me thinking. They can usually get me to club down one and leave it short.

If i can get out there and just play at my pace i never have a problem. Its when we wait on every hole for every shot that i get mad and i start to play terrible. I wish i could not get so mad.

What ever we play its usually for $1 a hole. Usually its skins with the PGA set up where you have to Verify the next hole with at least tying the top score. Usually makes it interesting. I want to play Vegas with them but the problem is for our typical 4 some there are 3 good golfers and 1 terrible golfer. Also while waiting on the tee box we play a game called poison. What you do for the game is use the tee box markers as your targets. You use the club your going to tee of on that hole and you try to hit to the far tee marker. Then the next person goes. And you go in order always. If you hit the tee marker you hit again. After you hit both tee markers you have to hit another players ball and your the winner. Its a fun game while you wait on the tee.

I just picked up a new driver yesterday and went to the range. When i would try to over power the ball i always got a slice on it. When i just swung nice and easy i got a great shot right down the middle. When i first learned how to golf, my grandfather taught me to only take 1/2 to 3/4 swing and i always hit it great. He said that after i could hit 10 balls straight down the middle, then i can start to take the club back further. it worked wonders.

I love to walk but i never really get the chance too. When 3 people all take a cart you sort of have to so you can just keep up.

No my drive barely made it 15 yards of the ground added to about 2 weeks without a good rain here in Pittsburgh on a course that doesn't have irrigation. Later in the year we can't play the course because its to hard. Balls wont stick on the green. And yes the drive had to of been at least 360. We play the blues and the hole length says its 405 from the whites. I was only 30 or so yards from the green.

I know a lot of golfer that can cream a driver 280+ but can't hit an iron to save their lives. These are the people that go to the range and get a bucket of balls and just hit their drivers not thinking that you only hit your driver 14 holes makes on a typical course.

That is an interesting motivation tool to use.

I always try to wear sunscreen and a hat when i golf. I got burnt on Sunday this week because i was stupid. My family has a history of skin cancer and i've get monthly checks at the local cancer center for it. I can just imagine the talking to i'll get from all the doctors there if i come in with a nice tan.

I know. I was playing 9 on Tuesday using Pro V1's and i lost 5 balls in 4 holes. I switch back to the Callaway HX Tour 56 and guess what. I hit a driver about 370 (Very dry and must have gotten a really lucky bounce). Lob wedge to a tight pin. Knock in the 6 foot putt for birdie.

I had picked up a dozen of these at target about a month ago. After playing them and then going to the Pro V1's all last week, i agree that the HX Tour 56 is a better ball. It has a much softer feel around the green and still has great distance of the tee.

I just ordered the Callaway X-Tour wedges. You can totally customize the clubs right of their site which is nice if you know your specs. I got them after reading a review on here. Click Here for review They did have i believe a 50 and 52 wedge for lefties there.

My problem at the range is i get really tired from hitting so many balls in such a small period of time. I usually only get a bucket of about 60 balls now and i just work on the clubs that are troubling me. That right now is my driver and accuracy with my long irons. With my irons i have a draw, which for the longer irons it turns into a slight hook which is killer. I've started to straighten them out which is good. For my driver i have no clue what the problem is. I can hit it every once in a while and hit it well. I can hit those new drivers well but i dont want to pay $300+ for a driver if i still can't hit.

In my case i would say its consistency. I would say 1 out of 10 shots is a top and again 1 out of 10 shots is hitting the ball fat. So in a round of 90 there is 18 shots that shouldn't have been but were. Then I also have a natural draw most of the time like 6 out of 10. And a couple of those those draw shots go to far left and I miss greens because of it and have to scramble for par. I also wish i could hit my driver. I know it won't really make me that much better of a player but it would be nice.

I agree. I play a full round maybe once every 2 weeks typically. I do have like 3-4 9 hole rounds a week though.

I have 14 clubs but i could easily drop all my woods because I don't use them. I'm going to be taking the 5 wood out here soon when my 52* wedge comes in

At a course that I play a lot now, there is a par 3 140. Water to the right but it really isn't in play unless a really bad shot. 140 is just a funny distance for me because of my gap between my PW and SW. I did just order a GW but i haven't received it yet. I usually have to hit an easy PW or power my SW and i always mess up. I did birdie this hole a week ago but usually i get a 4+ on it. Its the easiest hole on the course too.

I played yesterday at the course i usually play at. I creamed my tee shot (a 3 iron) but it hooked hard. I came up right behind the green of a hole coming back. I have no clue how far I am so i guessed and grabbed 8 iron from my bag and walked over to my ball. This shot is completely blind from a giant tree in the way. I wait to see the guys infront of carts at the next tee and I line up to were i thought the green was and take a whack at it. I hit it really clean and the guys that were putting on the green were just amazed. They asked me what i hit and couldn't believe it. Turns out it was the right club because i was 6 feet from the pin. I missed my birdie putt though

I have this game for the Xbox 360 and its quite good on there. I can't see myself buying this just yet since Tiger Woods 08 is due out in about 4 months.

Another is iron distance. Just because a hacker has hit a 6 iron 200 before he thinks he can do that every time. And when he pulls his club and hits it and comes up 25 yards short he can't figure out why.

The ESC you are talking about is what the USGA enacted in 1990 where certain handicaps can only take X amount of strokes on a hole correct? What about I am trying to get an offical handicap this year and i want to use the ESC to get it, what should i cut my stroke limit too? I shoot in the Low 90's high 80's.

Driving distance or score. Lots of people don't seem to know distances to well so they are lying but they really don't know it. When i tell people that i can hit my 3 iron about 240 they don't believe until i out drive them with it.
