Nub, you have some good impact angles in your arms and flat left wrist.. Great job. Next post lets see vids of dtl, face on and from behind. This will help show what areas to work on. First off lets work on the set-up. Do you notice your shoulder are tilted away from the target but your hips are level? We need to fix that as that set-up sets you up for a high rear hip and the lead hip dipping down and toward the ball. Kick in your rear knee toward the ball this will allow the rear hip to match the angle of your shoulders. Know lets work on your backswing. Notice how your hands start the swing? Your clubhead is behind your rear foot before your shoulders start to turn. This will result in the clubhead getting sucked behind you and your swing is already out of sync. Start the swing by turning away your rear shoulder and rear hip away from the ball first. This will create a one piece takeaway... A drill is to tie a towel to the clubhead so it lags on the backswing. It will also make you feel the pivot driving the arms and hands compared to what you have know where the arms and hands driving the pivot. Next we need to firm up your lower body. I need you to practice your pivot in the front room without a club... Work on the rear knee kicked in at address. Feel the pressure on the rear foot instep. Then fell your first move of turning the rear shoulder and hip away from your center. Do not sway off the ball.. Your rear hip will stay down and works towards the heel it will then work toward the target. If you were looking at a mirror mark the location of both hips edges. When you pivot correctly you will see the lead hip stay on the line and the rear hip will have a gap between the starting position and where it is at the top. If you take your old backswing your lead hip will have a gap in it and the rear hip will be further from the target. With the correct backswing pivot you will feel a stretch in the rear inner quad. That feels different...... The reason your head moves on the downswing is it has to... When you make the correct backswing the downswing starts to fix itself for the most part. Dont worry about the downswing right know.. The steep angle will be fixed by fixing the backswing... Trust me..

Once you have got more depth at the top. I want you to feel as though your roll both feet toward the target. You have a transistion move where you get your weight straight away on your toes. the right foot moves toward the ball and your right hip is now in the way for your arms. You then have to back out of it to make room.... Start the transition in the following order left knee left hip and left shoulder pull left and way from your center. In your feet you will feel both roll toward the target and then the weight shift to the left heel. It will feel as though you are falling away from the ball at first but stick with it. This move will create a ton more room for your arms.. Check out some youtube video of trevino, mahan, kim, hogan. watch how there hips are so far left and there is room for the arms before and after impact. You will see the butt of the club pass left and the club face remain in sight. This is a cp release and the clubface is squared by physics and requires no thought on your part. Compression my friend. Compression is right around the corner for you....

great job K. That is not over the top by any means........ Your swing looks so much better. you are an athlete. I like how you try to start the turn with your right shoulder. You can see at 830 in the bs the butt of the club pointing closer to the belly button. I would like to see even more passive hands on the first part of the takeaway. continue working on wrapping a towel around the head of the club and feel the right shoulder puul the butt of the club.. Do you notice because you keep the club in front of you there is a great improvement on the amount of lifting at the end of the bs? Continue to work on the first move and it will continue to put you in a good position at the top without lifting.... I need a face-on video. I can see why you shank it.. We need to work on the pivot. You need to turn into your right inner thigh. At address kick in your right knee and have your right hip angle match your shoulders. I want you to turn your right buttock away from the ball more like I am asking of the right shoulder. Your right cheek will go back toward the heel and the toward the target. You will feel pressure on the inner thigh and left lat. You can practice this indoors without a club.... This will give you more depth and then we will work on the transistion to keep from getting on your toes.

sorry I am not qualified to teach the blind. Good luck

If that is what you believe, good luck with your swing. Because I cannot help someone that denies the obvious. By the way ST and tilt is based of of Morad and macs low flying wedge.

Mott. Check out hogan in this video. Pause it right away, grab a pen and hold the tip of the pen at the back of the right buttock. Press play. Do you notice the pen ends up in the middle of the right hip at the top? Then watch the downswing. Notice his left hip then clears way left of the starting line. This is why you want the chair on a 45. \ Golfer . Ball Understand my diagram? That view is looking down on the golfer if you were god. This is a good drill to learn the depth required to have room for your arms to swing properly. The right buttock does move toward the target like the videos above show but the key element they are missing is that the right buttock moves back and then toward the target. This happens because the weight moves toward the right heel right away. Then during the transition the left knee, left hip, and left shoulder turn away from the center clearing left in that order. The footwork should feel as though both feet should roll toward the target and the weight then moving quickly into to the left heel. you will notice hogans left big toe is up early in the downswing. This tells you his weight is in the left heel. Forgot to mention that this camera ngle is slightly behind him so it would show up even more from directly behind. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fsl7aozegEM&feature;=related

This is what happens when you try to drop it in... Lets see the video before you diagnose yourself. Remember Rome was not built in a day. All we were looking for is changing the first link in the swing it will slowly start to fall into place over time. Be patient stay the course and lets work on the backswing. By the way Stadler won the mastesr coming over the top. Leitzki was one of the best ball strikers on tour and he had a classic over the top move. This guy took several months of and could come back and compete right away. Lets see the video.

Just a quick word. The chair should be angled at a forty five. The part near the target should be away from your butt..... \\\\\\\\ The way you have it you limit the depth of your turn and give no room for the arms to work. You are stuck and your right hip is in the way on the downswing..
-
Just one quick response to your drawings. To backswing pictures where you say this is not a problem. Do you notice how his left arm is across his chest and his hand are at belly button height? Look at tiger if that is your benchmark. Tigers hands are in front of his chest not behind him. Notice the shaft plane is running through the elbow while tigers is throught the bicep? Notice how his shoulder have steepened as a reaction from the club being so far behind him.... How does his arm plane go from an extremely flat angle a steeper angle relative to the shoulder? Thats because he lift his arms. I believe better video is required along with face-on..... I cannot tell you the position he is in at the top because the video is shot from the ground and aimed at the ground.. But it appears as though he is steep.

Everything. Pause the 6 iron swing at 11 sec.. You dont think it is a problem that the butt of the club is pointing to the right of the ball? You dont think that the club head is behind his body and below the right forearm plane is a problem? Then he lifts the club into a upright position where his momentum causes is upper body to lean towards the target. This is his transistion move. You dont see this move as a reason why he comes over the top? Let me guess he needs to learn to drop it in the slot.. That way he can hit a draw and be so happy.. Then 6 months later he will wonder why he is drop kicking everything and hits snap hooks. He will not be able to fade or elevate a fairway wood to save his life... K this is the road so many frustrated golfers go down. The downswing is is less then a half second do you really think you can compensate for your mistakes on the backswing? Many have tried. You have a great move through the ball. The problem is your backswing puts your club and body in a position to come over the top. If you learn to drop it in shanks will come your way....
-
Dont think about cocking the wrists..... This will happen naturally if the club head is kept outside the hands. The lead forearm will rotate and the cocking just happens.. another thing only work on the backswing work. do not get tempted to work on anything else... Stay the course. dont forget reverse k set-up.

If you were to stop the video when your arms are around 8:30 on the backswing the butt of the club should be closer to your right hip then at address and still pointing at your belly. When you look at yours at 830 the butt of the club is pointing at the target and the clubhead is behind your chest... The biggest thing you want to do is keep the club in front of the chest........................... This will take the hands out of the swing...... Start the backswing with your right shoulder and right hip turning away from the ball. This will be a pivot controlled backswing. Take your camera dtl and video yourself. You will notice that if you start and only think about turning the right should away the clubhead will stay outside your hands and the butt of the club will move closer to your right thigh..... Tie a bath towel to your clubhead. then practice taking it back with the right shoulder.... You will and feel that the club and hands react to your pivot.... This drill will give you a feeling on what passive hands are. then watch your old swing after watching this new drill video and you will notice right away how you start the old swing with your hands.... You will notice that the clubhead used to be behind you (stuck)...... You here this on TV all the time he was stuck... All that means is that the hand are not in front of the chest............. Once you get this first move down we will work on stopping the club at the exact same time your left shoulder stops on the backswing... First things first... work hard on this first move. show me video of you doing it.. OK

Having trouble downloading video to my V1 software. Quick glance you are still swaying and more importantly you are getting on top of your hip rather then into the right side. Do you notice how your right hip is high and lost its level at the top of the swing? This causes your shoulders to be to steep. At the top you have dropped the left hip and never got off your left side. So How can you slide into your left side. You dont want to slide anyway. By never getting into your right side and steep shoulders you will have to back up and out of the shot because you are ahead of the ball. You then flip with the right hand to square the face... Everybody is telling you about your flip but dont tell you that if you did not flip it you would hit low bullets that would go miles right. what happens before is what is causing the flip. You need to kick your right knee toward the target at address to lower your right hip to match your shoulder tilt. You then want to practice your pivot by turning into the right thigh.. You will feel a stretch in your inner right thigh and left lat...... Your right hip will go back toward your heel and toward the target.

Nuub, You have any face on video?
-
ok... Problem is the club gets pulled behind you on the backswing...... You then lift your arms.... On the downswing you never make any compensations for these poor back swing issues.. I think not making ds compensations is great lets start wiht better video and we will work on the back swing.. Deal

IMOP Furyk does not swing in to out. In to out swings are push hooker/flippers. Tiger woods with the driver phil with everything, VJ with everything. Furyk Holds onto to the leverage and clears left through the ball. Watch the video link. Notice how the butt of the club disapears before the club head on the follow through. A in to out or slinger of the club like VJ you see the butt of the club point toward the camera and the clubhead dissapears on the follow through....
-
Over the top move is directly related to your set-up and backswing. Trying to fix the downswing without fixing the backswing will result in a band aid fix.

I left a generic analaysis. I will help further on this thread if you want..
-
get me good video and i will help you... dtl and face on belly height...
-
videos are terrible. set the camera on your golf bag. i cant even see the top of the swing.

So much better.... Slow Down! the backswing is not a race.... while inside wrap a towell around the head. You will feel the pivot pull the hands away from the ball and will see the clubhead lag behind. Feel as though you load into the inner right thigh.. Take a small wedge and place it under the outside of your right foot. This will give you the brace to load or turn into. Allow the right hip to turn and work toward the target. Your butt will go toward the target... By loading this way you will have room for your arms to stay directly in front of your chest..... This will allow you to then just turn around your center. If you watch the video you will notice how your right elbow is way behind your right hip at the top. your arms are behind your chest.. This means your are out of sync and stuck. You then have to thrust your right foot toward the ball in attempt to swing your arms at the ball and then flip your hands through impact. Get a nerf ball and put it beteewn your forearms and take your backswing.. Notice how much shorter it is and how it stays in front of your chest. That is perfect.. Then you need to work on your footwork. your feet should roll toward the target on the downswing. Your right heel should roll toward the target first. This will keep you from thrust yourself toward the ball and will give your arms room to swing freely and low left around your body. This will square the clubface naturally and passively with the body as opposed to the hand s doing it.

What Ball Do You Play??
proguy747 replied to JoshuaVnyrd1817's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I find just the oposite. The pro-v1 flys lower on iron shots and chips but spins more. On full shots the x flys higher and spins like crazy on full shots... The x is like all distance balls they fly higher then the prov but the reason the x is so succesfull is that it still spins around the green.. ' I have tried almost all the balls and nothing works better for me then the pro-v1... In my mind the greatest ball ever made.... -
your the hawaii guy. drive over there anfd find out..

Paul, I went to youtube and watched your videos... Do you want some swing help? I am sure you do, so you need to start by taking a video from behind with the camera at forearm height and then from face on at the same height.. First part. Set-up. you need to tilt slightly away from the target with your upper body. You also need to kick your right knee toward the target, this will make your right hip lower then the left and matching the angle of your shoulders.... Look into the mirror with your current set-up. Then feel as though you do a hip check toward the target. This will give your hips and upper body a look as though your are leaning toward your back foot or away from the target. Now you should only work on your first move away from the ball and change nothin else until you have video proof that you have mastered these two things. To start your first move we can practice in the living room.. With your new set-up place a book dierectly behing the clubhead or tie a towel ( big bathroom one) to your club head. With the triangle between arms and chest staying intact begin the backswing by pulling your right shoulder back or away from the target. This will quiet the hands down.. the butt of the club will work in toward your right thigh and the clubhead will stay outside your hands. You want the pivot to control the backsing becuase right now you pick the clubhead up and your arms are out of sync and stuck behind your body... at around 8 oclock the wrist will then begin to hinge and will be natural. You need to fix this first move becuase anything you try to fix beside this is a waist of time becuase this first move is a golf swing killer.... Try these to keys and psot a video of you doing them.. I will be back later to check and see how you are doing..
