  1. Here is a list I like to visit when I am in the market... Since I have outgrown the 10.5 but don't hit it a ton I am now using this list.... http://www.golf.com/equipment/golf-magazine-clubtest-2012-drivers C
  2. I hit a used 910D2 today. I never thought that I could hit a Titleist club... But man it was amazing. I hit a lot of drivers today. I warmed up and then we put me on a system and went about analyzing my swing, ball flight, spin, ball speed, distance.. The thing to know here is that I have only been at this for about a year and change. I was in a near fatal car crash in December 2010. Doc said hit golf balls to make my lower back work better. Now having said that my swing speed clocks in at about 85 to 90 mph. My back is getting looser and better so I will, as soon as I figure out how, begin to increase the club head speed. Back to today... :) I hit the following... AdamsGolf F11, Regular, graphite, 10.5 (mine) Titleist 910D2, Regular, graphite, 10.5 Rocketballz, Regular, graphite, 10.5 Cleveland Golf UL, Regular, graphite, 10.5 I thought that I would hit the RBZ a ton. When I tried the Fairway Woods (3 & 5) that is exactly what happened. The 3 wood went 225 + roll, the 5 wood went 210 + roll. But that isn't what happened. It made it to the 228 range as did the Adams & Titleist. I don't have shot shaping. But I am straight. I would like to be long as well, but that will come. I liked the feel of it though, the Titleist. I have looked and there aren't any 909D2's around for me to try. So, what about the 909's? Do they feel the same? Oh, and apparently I have outgrown the 10.5. Yeah! They suggested that I tee it up lower, but to get it that low I will be hitting the deck before I hit the ball. (iron shot low). I like the idea of the adjustable driver. If I outgrow the club can I make those minor adjustments to not make it obsolete? What do you think?
  3. Yeah... Don't know which one technically...but it is right at the top of the hips. :) I am slow with swing and with the QStar I am long enough not to be embarrassed, roughly 230 with the driver and 200 with the 5wood... I will try the inversion table. :)
  4. Update: So I went with the 5w (19*) over the same lofted 3h. I smashed the 5w 208yds and barely got the 3h out to 190. I have read a great deal about the RBZ...it's too much loft, it isn't as long as TM says... For me... I hit the RBZ 208... my 3w is the same. It was less effort to hit it. It felt solid and didn't sound like hitting a coke can. So, I put it in the 3h's spot and am now wondering about the F12 vs the RBZ 3w. And the Driver... If the line all hits about the same (feel, distance, ease, etc.) maybe I am switching. I am not switching the irons or the wedges, though. I love the Redline's ... Any thoughts?
  5. Wonderfully said. Now, how do I choose one over another? I have the AdamsGolf Redline set (regular flex - 1/2" short of normal). I tend to hit the ball right. Sometimes really hard right ... with both the 3h and 4h. They look large to my eye... I have fixed my brain in that I need to use the iron swing path rather than a wood swing path. But is there a difference, relative to head size, between the different company's hybrids? I hit the RocketBallz 5wood (fairway 5) a mile. . . and straight. No adjustment done, just right off the rack. I have a slow swing speed. . . 88 - 92mph. And I hit it 208yards, a 5 wood. If the 3 takes me out to where I am hitting my driver I may switch that as well... but... Back to the hybrid... Is the TM rescue a hybrid type club? Suggestions...??? Thank you in advance.
  6. I would like to weigh in and get some help/comments. :) I have an Adams Redline 3H and hit it poorly. I hit the 4H well, except when my concentration is low...then slicerooni. I hit my F11 3wood well. Not sure if I should entertain the idea of a 5wood in its place. What do you think? I don't hit em far...my club head speed is about 92mph. I have a herniated disc in my lower back. Thoughts?
  7. Hi there anyone heard of a "Diamond Head" reverse angle putter? I got to use one today and I loved it. Probably illegal... but...
  8. I found out... Qstar is for slower club head speeds.
  9. Hey... What is the difference between the Zstar and the Qstar? I started with the Nike Blue Crush then bought the e6. I hit the Qstar and started seeing 10+ yards longer drives, cleaner more accurate short game hits. Just curious... :)
  10. To one and all...Merry Christmas.
  11. For me, since I started in March, I found that if I bought a game improvement type ball (e6, Noodle, Nike Crush - blue, PD Long) I did ok once I got fitted and got used to what I was doing. I think I lost one ball in 3 months. I hit it longer and straighter. As my game gets better the ball continues to shine. I agree that you should stick with one ball for quite a little while - one season or so... Just my thoughts. Freeze
  12. Hey, I would suggest hitting a different type of Adams... Get ahold of an older set, the A3OS etc., and try those. My students at school, I am the asst golf coach, hit the daylights out of em. Or the A4OS's or the A7OS's. I love em. The other clubs you might get ahold of are: Callaway Diablo Edge Burner 2.0 Ping K15 Mizuno JPX800 They all hit nice. I chose the Redline's because they were forgiving and had a lot of length. Love the Adams stuff. Next behind them was the Diablo's followed closely by the Burner's. Just my thoughts. Good luck.
  13. So I have moved to the Adams Redline. I hit em well. But stock off the rack they are in need of adjustment. The clubs fit my body type and swing type. The pro that put me in these said I had a natural golf swing with all of my clubs. I am going to swing these for a couple of weeks before I go and have them reviewed. :)
  14. I think that everyone will benefit from a fitting. Period. The thought that you have to be a scratch or 10 and under handicapper, in my opinion, is just so much baloney. I was well above my current 25 handicap when I went in and got my clubs fit. I had a bunch of different lies on all of my irons. They fixed that and made sure that the way I swung the clubs were adjusted for as well. I ended up trading out my driver because the one I had was too tough for me to hit. I went on the course and dropped from 5xpar to a little better than bogey ball. Do I still have some issues? Yup. Can I get better with lessons? Yup. Can you get better with a fitting? Yup. Can't be any worse, in my opinion.
  15. Same with mine. :) But the front seat is a very safe place for your baby. :)
  16. In theory that is exactly what it should be. I am an instructor, high school, and have a good deal of "good will" as many kids line up for my classes. This is because I teach them the real stuff and help them to be better at music. Having said that I went to Haggin Oaks, no slam on any of them except this one teacher, to purchase irons. I bought the A7's from Adams. With the purchase they gave me the fitting for them. So I toddled over and met this "golf pro" and told him what the deal was. He said ok. He asked me if I had warmed up. No. Harrumph. Well take a minute. ... So I stretched a bit, swung the club a bit. He crankily got me a couple of balls. I hit them, I get nervous - still - when a pro watches me, and shanked the first two. Trying to get my head squared away to hit my normal shot. I hear him muttering little nasties under his breath at me (I have great hearing...music teacher). So I finally get my shot working (3 shots later) and was jacking it straight and fairly long. His comment was... "you are not going to hit it better with any adjustment. you need lessons. you have an outside-in swing and ..." Ok. on the surface that sounds normal. But the fact that he stopped watching after the 3rd shot concerned me. I went to the golf club adjustment guy. He set them all to stock, as they were all over the place (lie was). I then chatted with the head pro there and at a couple of other places, not changing my swing at all, and all of them said that I was a naturally great ball striker. I needed time to figure things out, but a great ball striker. After the fiasco of the fitting, he didn't get paid for it, I went to the range to hit balls. I wanted to try the new lie adjustments. I found that I hit the snot out of them. Great improvement. I saw that "pro" working with a couple that was very old. Not bashing them. They were really wanting to learn. He treated them badly as well. So, the thing is. We are all people. We all have our own place in the world. His place needs to be adjusted because the customer service of education seems to have passed him by. I would take lessons, unless it was that guy. Just my thoughts
  17. I haven't started yet. Only been at this since March. Went from 5x par to bogey ball... Now that I am hitting the ball straight, mostly, and feeling comfortable with my swing...I am going to start lessons.
  18. I am not sure if looking for donations for a Title 1 high school golf team is alright or not. If not please delete it. If this is not the right spot to place it ... please move it to the correct space. Hello all, I have been asked to help with the mens and womens golf teams at the high school I teach at. No I am not a great golfer. Just very enthusiastic. I went in and met with the girls and the other coaches (girls in the fall, boys in the spring) the other day. I was informed that we have clubs for the ladies and was taken to where they were. My goodness. They were all mismatched irons and woods from any random yard sale/Salvation Army finds across a dozen years. So I thought I would reach out to extended family, you all, and see if anyone would be interested in donating in exchange for a tax receipt. We have permission from the district and administration to make this offer. What we are looking for is: matched iron sets, recent technology drivers, fairway woods, hybrids, etc. a couple of model years back is perfectly fine. Contact me here if you are able to help these young people learn about life through the wonderful game of golf. Freeze
  19. My clubs fit nicely in the front seat of my 2005 Chrysler Crossfire LTD Roadster. :)
  20. When I find my "ultimate" wedges... I am sticking with them. The groove sharpener keeps em fresh? so be it. I am not looking to dig a trench. :)
  21. Oh my goodness. What a difference it makes to have a fitting. Hitting them well. :)
  22. Thank you. :) I am scheduled for the fitting next month, after payday, and will get this fixed. I had the shop bend them to standard (factory settings) so I can practice hitting them and then go in for the fitting. I found that all but the one that was set to factory standards were all over the place, prior to finding out that they were off, and that I hit the one that was at factory standard really well. I will update all y'all in a couple of weeks. Thank you.
  23. So I have upgraded my irons. Couldn't hit the 4h, 5h, or the 6h. So I moved to the Adams A7. They have the 3h, 4h in a much smaller footprint and they have the 5 - PW in the regular iron set. Since I had already done a fitting on my A3OS irons I wanted these to be adjusted the same. So...I went down and chatted with Dan the repair guru. He put them on the scope or machine and came up with these numbers for the lie... Club Factory Actual 5 iron 60.5 60 6 iron 61.5 61 7 iron 62 61.75 8 iron 62.5 62.75 9 iron 63 62 PW 63.5 62.5 I want to be able to hit these new clubs, to me, with confidence and accuracy. Do the numbers on those clubs mean anything to you? Should I have them adjusted to stock numbers? What should I do? Help folks.
  24. I absolutely love it. At first I lined up like normal and jacked the ball into the trees dead left, or the bushes... Once my playing partner said that it hadn't hooked over there. Dead straight. I adjusted my setup and alignment and OH MY GOODNESS was it cool. love it.
