  1. Dogfish Head 90 Minute Imperial IPA -- incredible stuff
  2. I took piano lessons in elementary school and switched to guitar in 6th grade. Took classical guitar lessons in high school and college and also played guitar in rock bands during those years. I played trumpet throught junior high and high school and also picked up French horn in high school. Played trumpet in the Marching Owl Band (MOB) at Rice U for 3 years. I'm also a big fan of making music with found objects (yes, I'm a geek!). --Will
  3. I'm afraid I can't comment on the Titleist clubs you have, but if you are having trouble with them I would recommend trying out used Callaway irons. I have Big Bertha X-12's that I bought new several years ago and they are great clubs for a high handicapper. They are very forgiving clubs, although better players say they lack feel. You can find a set pretty cheap on ebay, but you should definately try before you buy. If you have a Golfsmith or similar store near you they will probably have some used X-12's you could look at. I think the most important thing is to decide if you are having trouble hitting your current clubs or not. --Will
  4. Wow, that was really horrible. I made it through about 45 seconds before I gave up. --Will
  5. I recently got a Ping Moxie set for my 8yo son. It is a really nice set. I don't think they make anything for smaller kids, but the Lynx stuff at Golfsmith looks pretty nice. My son used to have a cheaper kids set we got at Academy, but didn't use it too much. --Will
  6. 2005 Volvo V70 2.5T. Mine looks almost like the pic with different wheels. Nice to drive, good pickup with the turbo, holds tons of stuff, and I can seat 5 kiddos in the back with the fold up 3rd row. --Will
  7. I would call Callaway and ask them. They say on the web site that you can get a custom logo on the Belly Panel of the staff bags. --Will
  8. This discussion reminds me of the quote from Lee Trevino. If you're caught on a golf course during a storm and are afraid of lightning, hold up a 1-iron. Not even God can hit a 1-iron. Good enough reason to carry a 1-iron? --Will
  9. Oops, spaced out there. I meant to say first event. --Will
  10. I don't usually like to get involved in political discussions, but I think people are talking about two different points which are both somewhat correct. I think that it is understandable that she could have been in this picture without thinking about how others would see it. After winning her first major she was probably very overwhelmed, and if someone said, "Sit here and we'll take some pictures," she may not have given it any thought. I see no reason to take this as intentional disrespect of the flag. However, the fact that it may have been innocent on her part doesn't prevent it from being offensive to a lot of Americans. I think an apology would make a lot of people feel better, and is the right thing to do. I think the LPGA shouldn't have let this happen, but the responsibility has to rest on Ms. Gulbis. --Will
  11. Welcome, Ron. I'm a little bit closer to you in Southwest Austin. I'm not much of a golfer yet but I'm working on it. --Will
  12. That's a really cool video, although I don't think it was all done in 1 take. Still really impressive work (and good use of duct tape)! --Will
  13. I just got a Cleveland Launcher Ti460 driver for my birthday, and I went to the range yesterday. I don't have a really fast swing speed and was getting really good drives from the club. You can pick them up for $149.99, although you may have a hard time finding one to try out locally. I got a 10.5* with Grafalloy ProLaunch Blue in R flex. I think the shaft is helping me get a good launch. My better hits were landing around the farthest marker at the range, which is 230 yards. --Will
  14. Driving in to work this morning I had the iPod on shuffle, and got a really great mix of things: Dance Hall Crashers, Devo (2 in a row), Eels, David Bowie, ELO, Bryan Ferry, The Magnetic Fields, Ben Harper, and Miles Davis. Albums I listen to recently include Guided by Voices, Bee Thousand Dandy Warhols, 13 Tales from Urban Bohemia Shins, Wincing the Night Away I also started listening to the GolfSmarter Podcast and the one from this website and really like them. --Will
  15. This may be a dumb question, but will a hybrid cover the same distance as a 3 wood? I don't have any hybrids, but thought that they were usually used in place of 5W/7W or 2I/3I/4I. For this initial question, I think you should try to demo 3 woods hitting them off the deck. I've found a big difference between clubs for me when I do this, and I think your swing dynamics are really important here. I loved the Launcher 3 wood off the deck, but it may not be a good fit for you. --Will
