  1. Whether or not it is a grandslam? Maybe, maybe not...whatever. What it is and what's not up for debate is that it's the most impressive and improbable thing that happened in sports since DiMaggios hitting streak
  2. I would felate a hot curling iron for 40 extra yards
  3. This is one of the douchiest comments I've ever read on this site.
  4. lets not kid ourselves...a person would have to be shockingly oblivious to pick up a A flex and not immediately notice it.
  5. To play devils advocate for a minute.....and I have listened to a video of Mark stating that he feels like he can adjust his swing to any shaft. What's interesting (for me at least)...the same website - who's name can not be mentioned (My Golf Spy) that did the test with the blacked out shafts that showed no real correlation between what may fit a particular golfer the best also did a review of the Motore Speeder line that showed a very definite difference. The great thing about this review is that they tested the whole Speeder line (5 shafts) not just one shaft like a lot of reviews will do. And I think the reviewers testing method was pretty solid, not blind but he gathered so much data that I was satisfied there wasn't a bias. What he found was that from top to bottom carry distance didn't vary much (8 yards) but total distance was a much different (21 yards between shortest and longest) Spin and launch also showed significant differences. And the data very closely matched up with what could be expected from the manufactures spec sheet. I'm pretty sure Mark's video was only concerned with carry distances so might it be concluded that his results are ignoring the fact that shaft fitting is to optimize launch and spin to achieve the greatest TOTAL distance of carry + roll?
  6. *********.com did a test in just this way....they tested flex, weight, and torque and found that there is realy no rhyme or reason why one shaft works better than another for a given golfer. The conventional wisdom about shafts really didnt hold up http://www.*********.com/*********-labs-wrong-shaft-flex/ http://www.*********.com/driver-shaft-weight-testing/ http://www.*********.com/*********-labs-shaft-torque/ What the hell?? you cant post a link here? The website that did the testing is My Golf Spy for those interested... Edit: Oh, I see. They stole a bunch of articles from this site a few years ago so their URL is blocked along with a bunch of spam sites and things.
  7. I don't have a problem with it....he has so much to put up with and his every action is scrutinized. There is a youtube video called "What its like to be Tiger Woods" of him walking through the crowd to a scoring tent after he won the WGC Cadillac last year. Just watching that 2 minute video made me feel incredibly claustrophobic.....Also its not like he is the only one that acts out at times. So what he drops an f bomb?...Sergio used to flat out have tantrums on the course....he once took his shoe off and threw it into the gallery... his shoe! Tiger gets blasted in the media for doing far less than what flys under the radar for other golfers
  8. Has anyone watched Mark Crossfield's youtube vid http://youtu.be/ZVZ3PCgxTlw on if shaft flex makes any difference? For those of you who swear by your aftermarket shaft upgrades...your brains will literally explode...
  9. I keep reading everyone talking about course management as "not trying hero shots" which for some reason for some people, is not obvious...course management doesn't mean playing conservative. you can cost yourself as many strokes being too conservative as you can taking stupid risks. Course management is managing your misses and understanding what the course will give you. If my miss with driver is a hook and there is OB on the left, ill still hit driver but ill aim more right, even if it means a percentage of my drives find the right rough
  10. Well hell, maybe it is your clubface after all. Appears to be wide open here just before impact.
  11. Obviously not, Hank Haney had yips with the driver for years and he's made a pretty good go of it
  12. I see why your slicing the ball. Look at your downswing pic. The club is ridiculously steep!! The angle of the shaft should be much flatter, closer to inline with your forearm (if your arms were in a good position) I cant tell for 100% just from pictures but judging from the torque on the shaft in your backswing pic it looks like your getting ready to come over the top. Its not your clubface. You can square your wrist and "rev the motorcycle" all you want but until you fix the path of your club head you will hit it weakly to the right
  13. cant complain about getting your balls fluffed
  14. I don't think you are interpreting this data correctly... This is average strokes to hole out data, not average dispersion. The difference between 160 and 200 yards to hole out is .21 strokes....ON JUST ONE HOLE! Play that way an entire round, 14 driving holes and you've lost 3 strokes! (2.94). Not a way for a tour pro to make a living giving 12 strokes to the field over a four day tournament
  15. Here is average strokes to hole out from fairway for tour pros. This is shotlink data from Every Shot Counts. You can see having 140 in they are averaging more birdies that bogies... >180 and they are starting to loose strokes to par 100 - 2.8 120 - 2.85 140 - 2.91 160 - 2.98 180 - 3.08 200 - 3.19 240 - 3.32 260 - 3.58
