  1. It's all in the sig.
  2. 1) Break 90 a few times (only done it once and that was last year). 2) Increase length off the tee (doing well in that area at the moment). 3) Get handicap down (started the year with 23 and I´m doing well there). 4) I have to improve on putting, too often I´m too short or just there. 1) I´ve done it only once this summer too, my most common score is 92. 2) Doing well in the distance area, I was really short last summer but now I´m just an avarage hitter. 3) Started at 23 and I´m down to 17.2. 4) Gone from 38.5 avarage putts to 35.1 and I´ve managed to get rid of the short putts. Improved a lot from about 2 or 3 yards and short putts are very good. The longer ones though seem to cause me (like most golfers I guess) some problems. Next putting goal....improve distance control in long putts :) I´ll give myself a B for the summer.
  3. Worst 102 - best 88. My most common score is 92.
  4. I played 54 this summer. Please believe me....it wasn´t very smart of me. I lost my game for a week or 2 after that. A lot of fun though :D
  5. I used to have problems hitting a 3 wood off the deck but after I got the Big Bertha ´07 that problem is almost solved. My hc is currently 17.1 and of course I hit a few bad shots every now and then but when I swing the Bertha properly the ball just goes and goes. Off the tee it is amazing (big head....almost like an extra driver). Golf Digest´s top pick for a 3 wood! I´m certainly not a long hitter but I can hit the ball 200 metres (about 220 yards) with this club. 2 of my friends have tried it and one is currently in the US of A buying a 2007 Big Berta 3 wood and the other is considering it after he hit it just as long off the tee as his Big Bertha 454 driver :) I know this sounds like an ad but I highly recommend this club. Very forgiving. The big head might not appeal to all but at least it doesn´t bother me as long as I keep hitting good shots. Golf on!
  6. I shot 88 at my homecourse. It´s the best I´ve shot this summer since I haven´t broken 90 before (this year). Last year I had an 88 but after that I never broke 100. This year I´ve been stuck just over 90 but I´ve been very unlucky not to break 90 before. Today I just told myself that I just have to play for bogey every hole and take the pars that come my way. That worked very well since I got bogeys on the first 4 holes, then par, bogey, bogey, double bogey, bogey, bogey, double bogey, bogey, bogey, bogey, bogey. After that 15th hole I was 16 over (par 71) and was starting to worry about my score. On the 16th I rip out my 3 wood and try to go for the green (short par 4). That didn´t work very well since I topped the hell out of the ball and it only went about 60 yards :)....I cursed like crazy but managed to keep my cool and save par. On the 17th I managed to save bogey and on the 18th I got a par and left the course a happy man. Too bad my golf season is almost over. If I´m lucky I can play until mid october or so. Play on....
  7. I´ve played 29 rounds.
  8. I haven´t tried it but this might help. http://www.golfreview.com/mfr/ping/p...2_2942crx.aspx
  9. I was looking for reviews on the Hibore XL and TST came up on google. The review was very professional and right away I was sure I had found a candidate for my favorites. GJ TST!
  10. Nothing beats playing golf at midnight, knocking the ball towards the bloodread sky when very few people are playing the course. Very peaceful and quiet. I actually work nights but thats only 2 weeks a month. Soooo, the other 2 weeks of the month I play golf a lot :) When my wife goes to work at 08:00 in the morning and the kids are at kindergarden I show up at the course and usually get 18 - 36 holes in before I go pick the family up. But I always try to play midnight golf a few times over summer. Last weekend me and my friends played our annual Mini Arctic Open (our version of The Arctic Open) and started at 10:30. For 9 holes the weather was PERFECT and we got to play while the sun was setting. Then, after we ate our pizza at the clubhouse (it was closed but we sat down outside) the fog came in. So 9 holes played in fog too. It was fun though and I got a few thousand "krónur" in my wallet for the win (91 shots). Pretty nice.

    My first eagle!

I´ve had one. I think it was the last round of last year. I was playing with my friend and the course was a rather easy 9 hole one. Earlier in the round I chipped in for birdie from about 25 yards. On the 9th hole, par 4, about 230 yards (short, I know), I drove the green and drained the putt for eagle from about 8 yards. It´s nice to end a season of golf that way :) Good times.
  12. Hi there. I´ve only been a member for 2 or 3 days and now is the time for introduction. I´m almost 32 years old, live in Akureyri Iceland and I´ve been playing golf for about 4 years. The first 2 years were just for fun but last year I joined my hometown club GA (Golfclub of Akureyri). I just LOVE golf and everything connected to the game of golf. That´s not nice over winter up here but when summer finally comes I can play golf 24/7. Believe me, it´s a special feeling to play golf in the midnight sun :) I´m very happy to have found this site and look forward to be a part if it. Golf on!
  13. I can´t say anything about the older version but I have to say that the Hibore XL is by far the best driver I have hit. My last driver was a Ping G5 and for ME the XL is longer and (more importantly) more forgiving. I´ve hit a lot of shots around the toe area of the clubface and the ball still goes straight. Highly recommended driver.
  14. Seems to me the FT-i IS short. I haven´t hit it myself but I´ve read peoples comments and most agree it is short. The high handicappers could get more out of it in terms of length simply because of the backspin (more carry) but faster swingers will balloon it. Just what I´ve read....
  15. The site is really bad IMHO but here goes http://www.gagolf.is/default The course is as the club says: "the most northerly 18 hole course in the world" and that has been confirmed by The Royal Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews golfers Handbook. Also check out www.arcticopen.is and visit us next year :) Golf on!
