Hello, I have a couple of clubs that I have replaced that I would like to list in the Marketplace. When I attempt to post I get this error: "You are not allowed to post classifieds. I understand that you must be an established member to post a classified add, which I should qualify for currently by: To become an "Established Member" you must meet three criteria: 1) Reputation of 5 or higher (you start with 10, so...) 2) Member for 30 days or longer 3) 25 posts or more Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

TaylorMade Penta vs Titleist Pro V1
gunslinger2803 replied to bigbear43's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
It is only apparent to me on and around the green and with full wedge shots, but in my opinion, the penta is in between the ProV1 and the ProV1x as far as softness goes. It is perfect for my taste. I do not really notice any noticeable differences in any other part of my game. -

Yellow Balls?
gunslinger2803 replied to cruzthepug's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I really prefer orange golf balls. Bridgestone makes an orange version of the e6 and I don't believe that I have ever lost one. I wish more manufactures offered orange as I am not a huge fan of how the e6 feels and performs for me. I would by proV's or Penta's in a second if they offered them in orange. -
Vr pro blades on the way
gunslinger2803 replied to Chris Shades's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Very nice. I would have a set of vr blades as well if I thought I could hit them well, I will stick with the AP1's for a couple more years, at least. I will be looking forward to what you have to say about them after you get them back from your club maker. -
I had my R11 re-shafted and cut down by a professional club maker, I am now much more consistent and have gained considerable distance. My advise would be to see a professional club maker and tell them what the problem is and what you are looking for and let them work their magic.

Nice, congrats. Are those your first set of Adams?

Most of my viewing and posting is on my iPhone 4s ( while I am supposed to be working), which has the same processor as the iPad 2. No problems here.

Couldn't agree more.

I don't think you will be disappointed. -
New purchase: Scotty Cameron California
gunslinger2803 replied to gunslinger2803's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I highly recommend the club. It feels much better to me than my Nike Method 003, my old Odyssey XG white hot Sabertooth, or any other putter that I have tired. Stays online, balance is wonderful, the finish and deep milling on the face is beautiful. Only cons so far is the high price, granted I have only had it for a week and played one round with it, but have had multiple putting practice sessions with it. -
Best iPhone Golf GPS App?
gunslinger2803 replied to Tenacious Deek's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
Golf Shot GPS. Have been using it all year for the GPS features and have been using it as a score card. It is a great app in my opinion. -
Taylormade Penta TP?
gunslinger2803 replied to clonewars222's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I have had a similar experience with the e6's. I was not fitted for them, I simply just gave them a try, but I was not in favor of how they performed for me. It absolutely could have all been in my head but it seemed as if I was unable to hit consistent quality shots with the e6, and it is has a relatively hard feel especially while putting. I played the Provx1 for a long time after, and have recently changed to the Penta. I really like the Penta, and they are much cheaper ( here anyways @ buy 2 boxes get one free) than any of the other top of the line balls. -
I made the mistake of trying out the one of the new California series putters at my local golf shop and ended up purchasing the new California Del Mar with the sea mist finish. I played my first round with it yesterday and it really is a great club. My putts seem to just go the correct distance, something I was struggling with while using my Nike Method 003. The weight balance and feel are both something I have not experienced with any other putter thus far. I am now a Scotty believer.

Started with Nike, now leaning more towards Under Armor. They make some really cool stuff.

I purchased a R11 when they were released, and was very inconsistent with it off the tee box until I changed shafts. The golf pro that put my new shaft in told me that the technology in the actual heads have not changed that much over the last five years or so, with the exception of the adjustable drivers. I can hit a taylormade burner driver with an appropriate shaft just as far as my R11. If I had to do it over again, I would have gone that route, and spent less money. Don't get me wrong, I love my R11, and hit it well, but the change in shaft helped me more than the adjustability of the head.

The newly released Scotty Cameron California series Del Mar 34". Simply the best feeling putter I have used this far. It is replacing my Nike Method 003 33". I am now a Scotty believer. -
Steel Vs Graphite shaft question
gunslinger2803 replied to bakalao1's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
i went from Nike Slingshot SS4d's with the regular graphite shafts to the Titleist AP1's with regular steel shafts and feel that my accuracy has improved by a large margin. My scores have improved this year also. My top two picks for the irons was between the JPX-800's and the AP1's, and went with the Titleist simply because of feel. I would suggest hitting both sets with every shaft option that you can to see what you like or get fitted once again. -
Would a new shaft for my driver help fix this?
gunslinger2803 replied to MGAD's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I reshafted my R11 driver and it has made a huge difference for me. I went with the Graffaloy Pro Launch Blue shaft, and my club maker had it cut down by about an inch and a half, he told me that the average length of a driver on tour was usually between 44-45 inches and my R11 came with a 46 inch shaft. I would find a golf pro or club maker that makes mods on clubs and have them help you make the right choice for you. I just called around to all of my local courses and asked them if they knew of anyone who would reshaft clubs. I ordered the shaft from golfsmith.com, and by the way am no way affiliated with them, just trying to help. -
Why do i hit 3W longer than Driver
gunslinger2803 replied to twinn-burner's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
my guess is that is a shaft issue. a change in shaft can make a huge difference. anymore i am unable to hit any wood with a regular flex shaft with any accuracy or consistency, i need at least a stiff, and am able to hit much farther with a stiff shaft than a regular flex. it's worth a try, you can pick up great shafts on sale at golfsmith.com -
Played on a busy course yesterday and ended up joining up with a 4-some. I have a new R11 with the stock stiff shaft that I still am having some issues finding consistency with. On the back 9, on of the other players had me try out his original Burner with the Grafalloy ProLaunch Blue 65 Stiff shaft that he had cut down by about 2". I hit his driver better than I have ever hit any driver, ever. I was hitting consistently right down the middle, which never happens to me. I even hit a 300 yard drive straight down the fairway, with a slight breeze at my back. None of us could believe how well I could hit it. Question is, should I cut down my current stock shaft and see if it helps? Purchase the Grafalloy shaft and trim it? I have done a little research, and the Grafalloy shaft does have a lower torque rating than my current stock stiff shaft. I am 5'9", and probably could benefit from a shorter driver shaft. The whole thing just caught me off guard, and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since.
