Your club is laid off at the top of your backswing, shown in Whacker's picture. This could cause misses right. Also seems as if your club face is a little closed.

I'm in the same boat as you, got down to a 9.4 index and ditched the burners for AP1 712's. They feel amazing compared to the Burners. Noticed a 5 yard or so drop in distance

Some quick background information, I'm 14, 6'1, I just began playing golf last summer, made my school's varsity and I'm a member at a local course. I really want to improve and become more consistent to the point where I can play competitive golf and play on a local tour. I really love the game of golf and would love advice from anyone who can provide it. I have been hitting my driver extremely well for some odd reason and I've been ocassionally hitting my irons well, extremely inconsistenly. I've been shanking almost straight to the right and it just rolls. My swing is probably going to make you golf enthusiasts vomit, but here it is. And beforehand I'd like to apologize because the top of my backswing is cut out in the down the line video. Here you go.

That's truly an amazing swing for your handicap. I'm assuming putting is your downfall?

I went today and got a new burner 2.0 combo set and two taylormade xft wedges all for 470. Got a 25% discount because my dad's the cfo at seaport where it's held :). Cool experience, there's one side of the convention center where it's held that is a long stretch of driving range, quite interesting.

Wow that looks extremely nice, well done. I'd visit if I lived closer. Maybe once I can drive :) -
Took me 2 months to break 100 legitmately, took me 3 to break 90. Will hopefully break 80 next year.

After just starting this July I have a few. 1. Play everyday in the summer Monday-Friday 18 holes, Saturday 9 holes and a bucket, sunday a lesson and 9. 2. Get my handicap from ~20-10. I'd love to improve as fast as possible and I'll do whatever to do so. 3. Break 40 in a 9 hole round.

Hey guys, just need some advice really quick on a duck hook with my woods, driver especially. I might be using the wrong term, but its when it goes straight with crappy ball flight then just has a nasty hook and rolls for like 10 minutes (exaggerating obviously). I'm sorry I don't have any video of my swing, but what could some of the causes be? I just started playing this year and this is just with my driver, 5 wood, 4 hybrid. I play a draw with my irons. Thanks in advance for any advice.

anybody wear a glove on both hands?
Andrew24 replied to DoorKicker's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
I always play with 2 gloves. I'm actually just wearing rain gloves because my hands tend to get quite sweaty. And they are very comfortable and would make good use in cold weather. -
Yeah I'm aiming for a set that would be useful for me in the future as well. The 2.0's were probably one of my lower choices. The AP1's and TP CB's were at the top.

I was going to hit the one's besides the 2.0's and burner pluses at golf town. I already know I can hit the 2.0's and burner pluses. My irons right now are awful and aren't helping me improve at all. I'm on the golf team as well so I need the biggest advantage possible.

Alright, so for christmas I'll be getting new irons of my choice as long as I get one grade up (which should happen with effort). I can pretty much get anything under $700. I'm 14 and about a 21 handicap, just picked up the game in July. So far I've narrowed it down to 5 sets. 1. Titlest AP1 710, 4-GW 2. TaylorMade R11 5-PW 3. TaylorMade Burner 2.0 5-PW 4. TaylorMade Tour Preferred CB 4-PW 5. TaylorMade Burner Plus 4-PW I'd prefer one of the newer sets instead of Burner Plus irons, because I'd rather have newer technology. I'm probably going to hit the majority of them at a local Golf Town. My question is, will any of these be to hard to hit for me? I've made a lot of progress for 3 months, I probably end up playing 30-40 rounds a year. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Titleist makes very good irons and the vokey wedges are probably some of the best on the market. For irons just make sure to get non-blades.The best putter to get would be a scotty cameron but not everyone wants to spend $300 on a putter. Taylormade is the best for woods IMO. Adams makes very nice hybrids. The a7 hybrid would be something to carry over into the next set, I love my A7OS hybrid. All of this will come out to a very high price, which is the sad thing.

As a sox fan, I have no comments whatsoever. At least we made history with our collapse.

Alright thanks I was going to ask if I should play it further back in my stance. I appreciate the feedback :)

Hi, I just started playing golf in June, and I took my 2nd lesson today off a mat, and I practiced on grass afterwards and seemed to be taking a divot before even hitting the ball. I only hit about 25% of the shots well. Btw, this problem was only with my irons. I was hitting my hybrid, wood and driver great. What would cause me to hit the ground before the ball? Thanks in advance. Also, let me know what other information you need.

Last (Golf) Thing You Bought?

Bought an Adams A7OS 4 Hybrid. Tried it out at the range, really a great club. -
Is golf more expensive to play than baseball ?
Andrew24 replied to beginner's topic in The Grill Room
I usually only take maybe 100-150 pitches at the cage so it's a little cheaper.. The gear can get somewhat expensive. I really don't know, golf might be a little more expensive. -
I get a ton of blisters, I think I'm just going to buy another glove for my other hand. I play baseball and pitch and my non-glove hand is my throwing hand, so I can't really risk blisters.

I'm only 14.. But my dad drives an Infiniti G37x And my mom drives a Buick Enclave
