  12. Oh I see now, so the fading will actually give it that more "old school" look. But by fading that doesnt mean it will come completely off though right?
  13. So I am getting married on March 10th and my fiance asked me what I wanted as a wedding present that meet these certin criteria: 1) Would last forever 2) I coud pass it down to my future kids 3) I would probably never buy myself. This got me thinking, and I have always had an eye for Scotty Camerons, but being $300+ I dont think I would ever buy myself one under normal conditions. I think these putter could last forever and could be passed down to my future kids. So I told her I wanted a Scotty. Now the California Series really caught my eye as I love the old school look of the honey dipped putter. However after reading some reviews on here and on other forums I have found that the honey dip may fade. This could really bother me. But I also read somewhere that the fading was happening with the first batch of honey dipped clubs and Titleist got a new oven and the problem is fixed. Would SC replace/refinish my club for me if it faded in an unreasonable time? (I dont want to spend $300 and have the club fade by the end of this season) But I know in some years time it may fade. Was what I read correct about the first batches being the bad ones? The salesman at my local Golfsmith said he has not heard of any honey dips fading. So maybe the problem is fixed? Should I just not risk it and get a Studio Select model? (Which I also think is goregous) Thank you so much!
  14. Yeah I checked out that as well. The things that bother me are that they are new, but they are from a US seller so I thought that was a higher chance of them being legit. He's feedback seems good. But he only shows the 5 iron which kind of bothers me too. I've had my eye on the pro combos for a while now though but the price is almost to good to be true.... Maybe it is...
  15. Just wondering if I would have any reason to think these are fake irons: http://www.ebay.com/itm/180746250393?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1426.l2649 I have bought clubs on Ebay before but just from "big" golf stores. But this guy has 100% feedback....I guess I am just trying to make sure Im not getting scammed... Thank you all for the help
  16. I ordered a buckle and Peter was a pleasure to work with. The buckle is great, I can't wait to wear it next season. Well I may wear it before hand! But Peter was great! I would highly recommend getting one!
  17. I have several goals for 2012: 1) Break 100, I have come close this year and after shooting 100 and 101 in the middle of the summer I though for sure rounds in the 90s would be possible this fall. Well I was wrong. So breaking 100 is my first and most important goal. 2) I played a lot of courses this year, and I think that is why I didnt break 100, its hard to post a best score on a course you've never played before. So I am going to pick a home course as well. I still want to play some new courses but I need a home course. 3) In lue of goal two, I also want to take at least one golf trip with my buddies. Maybe Cog Hill in Chicago or a Northern Michigan trip. Who knows but I am getting married in March, I hope I can still find time for my golf buddies. 4) Practice this winter and practice hard. I dont want to forget all the progress I have made this year and also I am golfing in Key West for my honeymoon in March, and I dont want to be rusty for that! 5) To get mentally tough. If I had a bad hole I would beat myself up over it and this would effect the next hole. I have to find a way to stop doing that. 6) Quit beating myself up over scores. I was so set and focused on breaking 100 that for a while I lost track of the progress I have made. When i first started golfing this year I was shooting 120s and now I am usually under 110. So droping 10 or more strokes in a summer is pretty good. 7) This is probably my most important goal. To stay out of the golf store. This year I redid my whole bag. Driver, irons, wedges, putter, woods and hybrids. Hell I even got a new bag. And I have discovered that I am an equiptment *****, I LOVE golf equiptment. This year I need to leave my bag alone and just play golf! Wish me luck on that one guys!
  18. I just got back into golf this year after a break of a couple of years and I wanted to replace my beginners complete set that I had. I found my irons on craigslist. I did however by a new Burner 2.0 driver ($202 out the door) and a Burner 2.0 3w ($130), I bought my putter new and my wedge new too thought I do wait for things to go on sale...But I have no problem buying slightly used either....
  19. Id celebrate with a bottle of Crown Royal XR and a fine cigar....
