Is it me or is Micheal Breed from The Golf Fix way to hyper. It seems like he has 3 triple shot espresso's before the show.

I"m not sure you can put club throwing in the, normal people getting jail time, fired, or even getting fined category. It's already been said Tiger acted immaturely he wasn't John Dailying it passed out in a Hooter's parking lot or destroying a hotel room.

Good Game Bengals, at least my Pitt Panthers beat ND.

I stated earlier that I thought Tiger's actions were unacceptable. What I find interesting is the way some people carry this to a whole different level. Throwing a club is in poor taste I hate to see it on the course. Well maybe that's not true there is a comedy factor in watching grown men act like 4 year olds having a temper tantrums on the course. With that said it was a mistake and Tiger like all of us when we make an embarassing mistake have to face up to it. I'm hope when Tiger looks at that he'll think wow I made an ass out of myself, and move on not to make the mistake again. Lets not turn this into something its not.

I'm a big Tiger fan have been since his US ams, but this club throwing has started to get out of control. I think this year Tiger seems to be more agitated more than in the past, probably because of the way the year has played out. Throwing a club and having it end up in a gallery is unacceptable, some one could have gotten hurt and for what. Tiger doesn't need more money, or fame, he does need to remember the world he is living in is a world a lot of golfers would be willing to trade places with him. Tiger needs to step back, take a deep breathe, and take a look at the whole picture. I'm sure his game will come back it always seems to, but if it weren't to, then he still has had one if not the greatest rides in golf history. I for one enjoy and enjoyed watching it, just don't finish it with a loss of your temper. I find just dropping the club at the finish of your backswing helps stop the urge to fling it down the fairway.

I have news for ya the Bengals are going to lose this week to the incredible Steelers and Big Ben with his 71% pass completions. I'm not sure how many QB's have finished a season or been at that % of a completion rate at this point of the season. How are the Bengals going to compete against that. GO STEELERS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to say the most annoying sport fans are the football who dress up. WTF at the price to tickets y would you where a mask, what so you can tell your friends "hey that was a great game of course I couldn't see it because of the mask I was wearing." Get in the hole is pretty annoying also just shut up wait to see if the ball is going to hit the green before you yell get in the hole. But hey this is just me if you feel the need to dress up like a halloween zombie football player wearing a dog mask go ahead.

I'm not sure that these how far does your whatever iron fly matter much. I think most people need to focus on what the fast swing they can make while keeping the ball going where they want. to many high handicappers try to hit everything with everything they have. I realize the length is always fun to compare but length doesnt insure a low score. With that said I hit my 6 iron 185-190 in the summer this time of year closer to 180. I use dynamic gold sensicore x

I'm not sure what the reason is for the difference in yardage. I will say I spend a lot of time working on my wedges. I think it's really important to learn distance control with all of the wedges in your bag. I mean how far does a belt to belt swing go, or shoulder to shoulder swing go with my sw or my gap or my pw, then if im trying to hit it high how far does the same swing go with the said clubs. Then move to a low ball flight with that same swing and so on. The distance that the full swing goes with a wedge is far less important, everything from 130 and in is a scoring oppurtunity not a full out assualt on the golf ball. I was once told by an instructor that you mean to hit drivers, but your wedges are about scoring so you should back off the speed/power and make sure u hit where your aiming.

Ball that gives most spin? (softest)
Matt M replied to James_Black's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I will agree with you that the Callaway ball's cover does damage easy, but that is why it spins so well. I find complaining about a balls cover being to fragile when you looking for a high performance spin ball is like complaining the ultra high grip tires on a sports car don't last long. If your looking for a compromise ball look in the 25 to 29 dollar range. There are plenty of good balls in that range that will not show much cover damage after a round of golf. I personally like the Nike Tour D spins good enough to back up on full shots and check up on pitch shots. -
Played Yankee Run in Brookfield Ohio. Course was in good shape greens where slower than my home course but rolled well. I shot a 77 with a dble bogey on the 18th. I got a horrible bounce on my chip and rolled it 15 ft past and pulled off a wonderful 3 putt from there.
-
I guess I usually get 1 or 2 a year I get a few looks. I not sure if eagle is something I go for much on my home course. Some of the other tracks I play though give you a good chance at them. Mostly though the course I play has a lot of trouble around the greens so on the 5 pars I tend to leave myself a wedge in.

Man I can't catch Erik. My picks are playing like dogs lol. I can't wait for the southern swing to reset I could use the points from the first week I missed out on. I must say that this has been fun, it has made the winter months of golf more interesting. I find myself at work pulling up the live scoring on Thursday and Friday to see where my guys are at. Usually after I pull up the scoring I want to bounce my phone off the wall as atleast 2 guys are over par.... just kidding. Great fun and definitely makes the tourneys without Woods in them more interesting. Kodos to Erik for setting this up.
-
I was staying out of this for a few reasons but I feel I need to say a few things. Erik's comment was right on, but I would like to add a few things. I can't imagine why Kelly choose those words but I'm sure it was more in ignorance than anything else. The statement she made may have been in jest, but many things can be said in jest and be utterly offensive to large groups of people. Kelly is a broadcaster she should be well aware to stay away from such a brow raising comment, it's her job!!! I think suspending her is on the harsh side but I'm sure TGC wants to make sure it will not happen again. Finally lets remember this is a Gentleman's game the statement made was surely not gentlemanly.

Hey swinging a driver under water might be a good work out if you could get past the hypothermia.

That is the really the point of the poll. As golfers we tend to not look at the hole picture. I think you see it when golfer start to improve from say 18-20 down. As we hit more greens we are farther from the hole, then suddenly 3 putts start creeping in. You often here guys say I use to be good when in fact they just had shorter putts because they missed the greens more often. I want to meet the god like putters, most of them are on tour, but I'm sure they are out there.
-
Damn now you've made me remember it. 17th hole at Sharon CC. I hit this quacker into the trees. I get over to my ball, there is two guys playing another hole. Look over at me and start laughing. I take my stance say screw those guys, pure the sw hit it to 1.5 ft. Walking up to the ball my buddy says don't blow this putt. YANK dead Left. There wasn't a lot said on the next tee.
-
I don't even want to try to remember my shortest missed putt.
-
First I would say that thats a good count at first look but. How many greens do you hit in a round? I think this is where golfers get confused on this stat. If you miss a bunch of greens and one putt them, that may not really reflect your putting. It does show you can get up and down. If you mostly have say 8ft or less putts and still end up with 29-30 a round, maybe putting could be better. I've notice that as a player evolves and starts hitting more green their putts per round goes up. This is caused because we end up with longer and longer first putts. I think.
-
I'm interested to know what everyone thinks of their putting game. Please respond to poll and post what your handicap or what you usually shoot. Im a 8 to 9 handicap and I average 33 putts around. I can use some improvement but I do hit a good amount of greens. That average was over 22 rounds of golf so it is what it is.
-
Personally I have a about a 12 yd gap between my pw and my 52 but only a 10 a gap between the gap and sw. I play most par 5 to 105 yd range, making sure not to get closer on my second shot. This leaves me between 105 and 118 usually right into the heart of both gp and sw. Also i usually just open up my sw for anything closer but I really try to not get closer than that while im playing.
-
That will be interesting to see, I have a good friend who is a PGA Pro at a local club, he pulled his 3 iron to add another wedge this year. He now carries 4.
-
That was probably my longest, nothing else came close this year and it didn't do me any good. I think it's safe to say I never hit a balata that far. I know I had a 364 in a scramble at Yankee Run off of number 3 which is elavated, a few years back. Sorry didn't realize I had the wrong hole yardage put down.
-
How many wegdes do you carry in your bag? I play a PW Gap and SW w/10 deg. of bounce.

Setting goals this past winter was a big deal to me. I really hadn't played in a few years do to small obsession with racing I had. After 6 years of only playing one or two rounds of golf. I sold off all of my racing stuff and decided to rededicate myself back to the game I love. My main goal was to get my handicap down below a 9. My second goal was to spend at least 2 days a week practicing and 2 days playing. Overall I reached my goals as I finished the year. I think I know what I need to do to get my game down to a better level next season. I can't wait to start a new challenge and look forward to more good days on the course.
