Wow tough crowd ! hope someone doesn't find out where I live and do a drive by shooting. I went back to the coarse Today and asked him what his policy was on this type of situation, and that I didn't understand. He said he was sorry and that he was having a bad day and didn't mean to be so blunt and that I was a great customer ,Thanked me for my bussiness and offered me a free round. I declined but asked him if the coarse was empty early during the week could I finish my golf he gladley said yes, I bought another 150.00 dollar punch card we shook hands and all is good. win win situation for both of us.

First off I would never cut in front of anyone to finish the round this coarse is empty early in the morning during the week. I'm not playing bay hill it's a small par 4 muni coarse, I really don't see what the big deal would have been , I play the front nine jump to 13 finish the 6 holes and all is good, I just found it a little annoying that he would not let me do this. I guess I could have just done it and not asked. very interesting replys!

when I first started playing golf, I went to the local pro shop picked up a new ping driver to try it out and on the first swing hit the ball right on the shaft and the club head went flying ooops The pro shop said it happens don't worry about it , I have spent several thousand of dollars their ever since.

So I'm on number twelve by myself monday morning at 7:45 and my phone rings, I'm self employed and I need to go to a project a little early, so I take off go to the club house and let the guy know I need to leave early and will finish the 6 holes that I have left on Tuesday after I play the front nine, He says no way you have to play it today or you loose it. WTF? I have played this coarse at least 40 times this summer and have been playing almost everyday latley, I tee off at 6:15 am pay at the turn and I'm done before most people are out of bed. but I did get a late start today and cold have been done by 8:30 . Is this normal ? One would think he would cut me some slack considering what a good customer I have been.

I bought a golf ball retreiver last week a compact 18 ft model and so far I have picked up over 1000 golf balls including 275 pro v 1 ranging from brand spanking new to very usable. I have good quantities of every golf ball you could imagine , I have so many pro v 1's that I now used the ones that look like they have been hit a couple of times for range balls, my bag shag is cramed full of them along with the small box to the right. As for the people who say that balls who have been under water are damaged I say b.s. I have cut several in half with my band saw and not one drop of water or any water stains have been present. Never again will I buy new balls plus my friends love me for giving them hundreds for their use. Spend 39.95 plus a little of your time and pick up all you want.

On my 40th birthday I went to my local pro shop and bought everything ping from putter to driver with all the goodies in between spent 3 k and never once played a round of golf. Nine years later i'm playing two to four over on most average coarses with a one under this year and an eagle. it's never too late imo your young just put in the time and in a few years you will be holding your own. One of the best feeling in the world is beating everyone who is a good player in your group. go for it and never look back.

The ball still rolls just fine, playing in all kinds of conditions helps in the long run. the front nine is slow the back is mowed. I would rather play with the dew then get stuck behind slow play.

Without a doubt this year has been excellent , I have beat my long time golf partner for the last month which has always been my secret goal, I made an eagle , a 35 / 1 under on the front nine of a tough coarse ( we wont talk about the back) I hope to play as much as I can weather permitting, sad to see the summer and golf wind down

I tee off as soon as it gets light out around 6:15 am here in Oregon, The coarse is not even open yet but they let me go and have me pay at the turn or after the round, I can by myself get 18 holes in before 8 am. (self employed) no one is on the coarse and you get to see the sun rise nothing better in my opinon, I do it 5 days a week. and play different coarses with my buddies on the weekends all with early as possible tee times.

Ditto, the only thing that bugs me is looking for my buddies ball all the time or the slow group ahead of us.

I almost caught one in the melon on saturday I heard the kid hit it and looked up just in time to duck out of the way, he never yelled fore I just looked at him with my hands open like wtf. Gee sorry sir, yell fore next time IF IT'S NOT TO MUCH TROUBLE.

So I had a gift certifcate at my local pro shop and ended up buying a Igotcha xl 18 ft compact stainless steel pall picker upper , this one is only 20 inches long so I can hide it in my golf bag so I don't look like a total idiot (lol) I lost a brand new pro v1 under a fence last week and almost cried so I thought I would give this a try (I went back and got my pro v1 by the way) So this evening I had nothing better to do and wanted to try out my new gadget at my local coarse water hazard, I have to admit I had a blast picking up over a hundred balls. 16 were pro v1 in like new condition a ton of callaway, nike , e.t.c. I felt like I was picking dollars bills out of the water, But a lot of them came out of the bushes near the water . How many other do this and have you had any problems with the coarse complaining about doing this? I could see picking up tons of balls while playing as long as no one is behind you. am I a complete golf ball geek or what? flame suit on!

I have been golfing with this guy for 3 years and we started out having fun , but this year his game is ugly, army golf left right left right e.t.c. he says he hits well at the driving range but I find that hard to believe, for example on his drives he has the ball at least even with his back foot squats on his set up (bending knees) and stands way to far from the ball, then stands up at impact, the ball goes at least one fairway over if you can find it then he duck hooks it on his next shot, it's starting to get old looking for his ball all the time. how can I help this guy without stepping on his toes? I have offered him some ideas on how to help but I don't think he really listens. I wanted to stop him and set him up like most people hit the ball but decided to stay out of it hoping he would finally ask.

6.45 am par 4 286 yds. I drove the green the ball rolled off into the second cut little up hill lie, Eagle shot lob wedge 20 feet just wanting to get it close and it rolled in. I dropped my club and struted around the green with my hands in the air for a couple of minutes, to bad I was by myself but at this point I just don't care. I have been on cloud nine all day , here is a picture kind of stupid I know but damb I made an eagle!

Do what everyone else does in these scrambles cheat, lie and buy all the mulligans you can afford. all that big prize money should go to the cause not in the teams pocket.

Golf is an addiction, when you start playing well you just want to get better, I think when you get to the point that you stop improving you might lose a little interest. I use to scuba dive and shoot guns every weekend, this summer I have not picked up a gun once or went diving for crab or spearfish for lingcod, instead I have golfed a minimum of three times a week and so far I have golfed six days straight playing 36 holes on friday of last week. I tee off at 6.00 am sharp golf 18 holes by myself and make it to work by 8 am. There is no hope for me! :)

I just want to scream at people who take forever to hit the stinkin ball , We had a guy join us who packed his clubs on his back set the clubs down pulled out his range finder when he is 300 yds away select his club take five practice swings step back take a look one more practice swing and 15 secounds over the ball and go. I think I had time to run back to the club house and get a couple of hot dogs in between shots, next time I leaving these type people behind. I played 18 holes today by myself in 1 hr 45 minutes no practice swings for me and I was 7 over and happy as could be. All my buddies play ready golf who ever is ready goes almost like playing by yourself within a group.

I never played one round of golf went out and bought all the latest greatest ping golf clubs spent 2500 bucks and just went for it . I had a little buyers remorse when I figured out the game was a little harder then it looked but stuck with it and had no major regrets, a few years later when I understood a few more things about golf I sold all the clubs one at a time and made almost all my money back. the key here was selling them one at a time. Many of the people who bought them needed just a 7 iron or whatever to fix a broken or lost club and paid a higher price. It worked out very well for me as I turned around and bought my dream set with only a few hundred dollars out of my pocket. If I had to do it over I would not change a thing.

I'm not a high handicapper ,I have no idea how the 36 got into my profile and cannot figure out how to change it. :) I shoot a typical 81 to 84 with my best being a 1 under 35 on the front nine of a pretty hard coarse. I have no idea what my handicap would be as I have not set one up . More or less I just don't get the point. Thanks for all the replys so far . Ray edit figured out how to edit my handicap but have no idea what mine is so I gave myself a 99 :)

With my wedges and thru my 7 iron I get back spin anywhere from five to 12 feet on drives and long chips, frustrating at times when your pin high. is this a good or bad thing , I have had it back spin right off greens before , how can I control this on demand ? 755 / vokeys and prov1. Thanks Ray
