  1. I don't know, but I suggest you work on getting out of sand traps! Ba dum PISH! No, but for real, where in the middle east are you looking to go? That would sort of help narrow it down... the middle east is pretty large.
  2. I imagine Caffeine pills would give you a feeling like you just did some mild coke...
  3. I do the same thing. I just play 9 and hit a couple or even three balls per hole and play each individually. It's a fairly slow course, so if I do that in the evening, I see almost no one. It's the best practice IMO. Just don't get used to multiple balls per hole :P
  4. I'm only three months in, and my last scores for 9 holes (off the top of my head) have been 55, 56, 50, 53, and 52... I play 9 more than 18, but my last 18 have been 106, 113, and 110 IIRC. So I am a little behind you, but not by a lot. I think you're doing very well for someone with only 5 months... I can only wish for a 95. I'm currently looking for an instructor as well, and I'm hoping to break 100 by the end of September, which will be about 5 months for me, so I think we're right on track.
  5. 1) That's what I'm thinkin 2) Do you still use the double sided tape? I imagine you do.
  6. Well I've got that one on my driver, and I don't have the issues on the corded part of it, but still just a tad on the rubber, so I was thinking of the GolfPride tour velvet cord (or something to that effect), since I get the corded part all the way down. Afterall, my gloved hand doesn't have this issue, so I'm thinking that'll work. Has anyone tried regripping clubs with an air compressor? I've seen a couple videos using it to slip the grip on and off the shaft, and I like it. lol
  7. Hey guys, I recently got new clubs ( Nike Slingshot ), and I can't get a good grip when sweat is involved. It's hot here, 95 on a good day, and very high humidity. Every time I play, I end up being unable to grip the club due to how slick these get when they get a little wet. This also makes playing in the rain almost impossible. Is this normal for standard grips? I've only had them two months, and it is seriously affecting my game. Should I upgrade the grips? I just ask because I don't know if there are any out there that do better or worse when wet, but I have GolfPride on my driver, and I don't have this issue hardly at all (unless it's really raining). Are there any grips that stay grippy in the rain or under sweaty hands? Input is appreciated!
  8. Wow, I never got in-school suspension in high school. All my fights were out-of-school for 3 days.
  9. I don't know, man! It looks like it could go either way... Who the hell names a fake town Utopia? Could you not be any more creative?
  10. I'm just going to assume that this is going to air on Lifetime? This is just an awful plot....... I'll probably watch it anyway lol
  11. I don't particularly care about tee boxes... I either find a clear spot for my irons or just use a tee. Also don't mind poor fairways. But poorly maintained greens and sand traps can ruin you. Get a ball on a green full of blemishes, or get your ball in a crater WITHIN the sand trap, and you'll get frustrated quick.
  12. I shoot a lot, so I' got decent at judging range out to about 300 yards before I could get a range finder. Not super accurate, of course, but I can tell which club to grab or where to put the sights and get a good shot. The easiest way I know is to relate to something I know. If you know football, you can easily pick out 100 yards. If you can pick out 100, you can probably guess about 200, and if you've got 200, you know that 300 is about however much more club to get another 100. For short yardages, I actually just imagine how far that would be if I wanted to throw a football to the flag, and I'm fairly accurate at that. So in short, you relate it to what you know.
  13. 0... but I ALMOST got an Eagle the other day (par 5). Got to the edge of the green in 2, chipped it, and it bounced off the flag right at the base (would have gone in had the flag been gone). I was ecstatic just to get that. I might hurt someone out of joy if I got a hole in one. Congrats! That's a huge deal!
  14. I am speaking from mostly my area and the people I talk to. Everyone goes on about TM's products and how great they are. They're not great, they're just good. They're not the end-all brand. And also in talking to the people around me, no one acknowledges Nike's gear that isn't VR. And I've actually come to like their Method Core putters. I was actually going to get a new putter today, and it was between that and some Odyssey that I can't remember the name of.
  15. Overrated - TaylorMade. Every thing they do. It's great gear, but I think it's on a pedestal. They seem to really cash in on the uniformity and clean looks, as well as their name. Don't get me wrong, it's good quality gear, but I find a lot of their stuff to be generally over priced. Their bags and balls are great, though. I also like their hats. Underrated - Nike Game Improvement irons and putters. I was searching for months for new irons, and not one person recommended Nike, but I hit them the best out of any of the brands I tried, and they have a quality feel to them. Same with their putters. Excellent quality, great feel, but very few people recommend them. And yes, I know I look like a fanboy with the avvy and all, but trust me, I don't buy things just because of brand. I just genuinely feel that they make some excellent products for the price.
  16. It's actually a decent putter, but the head rotates a little now.... I just need a new one, then I can sell my awesome set like this guy haha
  17. Hey... some of us use Ray Cook putters!
  18. They really are.
  19. I always take all the club covers off my clubs before the round starts... sort of defeats the purpose of having them. I can't even touch a club if my hands are remotely damp... I feel like I'll lose it. I avoid sand traps, not because they can hurt my score, but I hate hate hate having to walk on the sand in shoes. It gets in my shoes, and I hate having to rake it. I just avoid it. I can't play with a girl. I feel like it's like working out or doing yard work with a girl. I can't play with any unread texts or emails. My game legitimately suffers if my phone rings, and I don't check it. None of these are really irrational, but I've noticed them.
  20. You say that it's not worth debating with people who don't see it as a sport, and then turn around and begin a debate with someone who says it's not a sport. Irony may not have been the correct word... maybe contradictory? Not saying it to be a douche. Just saying it to say it. And I'm not sure I gave my personal opinion on it... I think golf is both a sport and a game. It depends on it's context. A tournament is most definitely a sport. You have "teams" up against other "teams" (even if the "team" is one man/woman), and there is a definitive winner at the end. It's athletic, for sure, and it is obviously competitive. But at the same time, there are no sports that one can play alone, so that's where it becomes a game. Look at basketball. You can go out and play Horse, but you aren't playing THE sport of basketball. You're playing a game. But right after your game of Horse, you go and play in a tournament. That's when it's a sport. If that makes sense, good. If not, then disregard it. lol
  21. Today was a steady 100 with a good amount of humidity... Me and a buddy were playing at his home course, and neither of us were doing well. I shot a 56 and him a 53... We quit after the 10th hole. It's just too hot.
  22. They increase contrast really well. I use them for shooting, paintball, and I used to use them for golf in high school. I don't have any at the moment, but they do work very well for contrast, so the ball will show up very well against a grey sky.
  23. Play with other golfers. I played with my dad years ago, who isn't much of a golfer, but he HAS been around it in the business world and knows how to and how not to act. So my best advice is just go golf with a golfer (as silly as it sounds).
  24. People my skill level and above can use my stuff. I've let everyone use my putter and wedges, and all the people I regularly golf with have used my brand new irons, except one, who is the only one who asked (someone or myself will offer to trade irons to compare). Literally my first day out with them, and he walks up and says "I'm gonna use one of your irons." like it's nothing. "No you're not." He looked at me like I'm Hitler. "Well mine are too short!" "I don't give a shit." I wouldn't have been as rude if he didn't just SAY he was using my gear. So he sighed heavily and grabbed his club, and he dug it into the ground without even touching the ball. I wouldn't have let him if he asked, but still.. just assuming it's ok pissed me off
