I was just playing with ya man. You gotta go with what gives you confidence over the ball. Just out of curiosity, have you tried the Black Series yet? Something to think about. Great putters with amazing feel, and it will save you a few pennies.
-
Thats a hell of a cap for only having 3 eagles. Keep up whatever you are doing though, cause it must be working for ya. As for my first eagle, 330ish par 4(dont remember exact yardage), drove the green to about 25ft. Sank the putt. Have also put up huge numbers on this hole, so I was pretty happy to eagle it.

Save yourself some money and get a real putter instead of paying for a name. LOL!!! http://www.odysseygolf.com/en.html

Yes and no. You can have the shaft PURED, which for anyone that doesnt have this done, its the best $10 you can spend in golf equipment, and have the head shafted 1 degree open to the spine. It will never sit on the ground 1 degree open, but you can get it shafted 1 degree open.

I agree that it adds a moving part, but in no way alters release, nor inhibits wrist hinge. Again I will say, ALL THE BALL KNOWS IS IMPACT. That is where focus needs to be placed. There are 1000 different ways to get to impact, just look at the PGA Tour, but the constant that you will see from swing to swing is impact position. Some of the best players on tour have a slight bend to their lead arm at the top of their backswing. You gotta go with whats comfortable for you and your swing. As long as you are getting the club into proper position for impact, the rest can be your own. Look at Furyk. Thats swing cant be taught.

Not everyone adjusts ball position depending on length of iron. I play everything in the middle of my stance, and only adjust ball position to control trajectory. I guess I understand what you are saying though. If you did play a 5 iron forward and a wedge back, then impact would happen at different "times" in your swing.

I am by no means an expert in Titleist equipment. If their reps said that some of the clubs come without serials, then I would have to guess that they know what they are talking about. Chances are, if you bought from someone with good feedback on E-bay, they are genuine.
-
Glad I dont golf in Chicago then. That would totally throw me off on the first tee.
-
If there is no serial number etched into any of the clubs, I would have to say that they are not genuine, unless they came from a tour van, but even those have serials on them most of the time. Post some pics. I am sure someone will be able to tell just by looking at them.

I would apologize for making no sense. Are you telling me that the starter at your course stands directly behind you while you tee off? If so, punch him in the face. I guarantee it is the last time he stands behind you. I would find a different course to play if that really is the case. As for standing behind someone while they are putting, not illegal unless they are on your team or your caddy. Just really bad form.

7W or 9W; Worth carrying?

Put whatever you hit better in the bag. There is no "one solution" for every golfer. Most like hybrids, some like woods. You really need to hit them both and see what you hit well and what you are confident over. Asking someone else for their opinion in your personal club selection doesnt make much sense. -
I am not sure about this "longer irons take longer" crap, but one thing you do need to do is keep a consistent tempo. Most amateurs start to swing harder and faster when the clubs get longer. Just know that the added length and lower loft will make the ball travel a longer distance. You dont need to swing harder. As for you hitting balls to quickly at the range. You need to make sure that your range time is time well spent. That means going through your pre-shot routine for every ball, and making sure that you are hitting to a target. Going out there and blasting out 100 balls in 20 minutes does nothing for your game. You need to try to hit shots out there. Switch up between which way you work the ball during practice, it will make it that much easier to do when you are on the course and the shot actually counts. This is a game of opposites. The harder and faster you move, the shorter the ball is going to go. You are much better off swinging "slow" and finding the center of the clubface.

This will vary by shaft manufacturer, but a 6.0 is much more stiff that most "stiff" shafts. A 5.5 is much closer to what the majority of manufacturers consider stiff.

A straight left arm at the top of a backswing means nothing. If it is a comfortable position for you, do it, if not, dont. All the ball knows is impact. That is where you should focus while watching these guys at the range. They may be able to bring the club back further than you, but this is something you can work on with stretching, a little time at the gym, and alot of time at the range. Remember though, that getting too long in your backswing can cause directional issues, just look at Phil Mickelson and his recent driver issues. Butch Harmon has done great work with him to shorten his backswing. The effortless power part comes from understanding the golf swing and knowing that power in the swing comes from your legs and core, not from your arms. The more you try to force the club with your arms, the tighter and slower your swing is going to become. This is a huge reason why a light grip throughout the swing is necessary for "tour" power. Flexibility might not be your issue either. Watch them and see how much they turn their hips and torso. Most amateurs have very little movement in both of these places which in turn really inhibits their ability to coil around their spine. A good drill to practice at the range is at the top of your backswing, see if you can get your back pointed at your target without moving your head off the ball.

Have you ever hit either driver? How about the Bi-Matrix shaft? Do yourself a favor and don't buy either without hitting them on a monitor first. Pains me to see people hitting $500 drivers that are the total opposite of what they need. Why the TP on the burner? Do you typically hit the ball too high? Or do you think it will be better for you because it says Tour Preferred on it? Yes.... Bubba does have the Bi-Matrix shaft, but do you have Bubba's swing speed? Just a few things to think about before you go out and waste your hard earned cash.

You arent going to get enough spin on a 30yd chip to stop the ball dead. No pro in the world can do that. You would be better off spending your time chipping and working on trajectory to control run out distance.

I used to be a Winn Grip guy, but when Golf Pride came out with the New Decade, I switched and will never go back. Since the switch, I dont have to re-grip my clubs 3-4 times a year. Winn are nice and soft, but they just dont last long enough, and you lose a little feel with them.
-
You have a big lateral shift in your swing that may be a big cause for your "hit and pray" swing. Its hard to find any consistency when your entire body is moving off the ball and back to it. Try keeping your head still and swinging more around your spine. Dont be afraid to turn those hips. Might want to work on keeping that left foot a little more grounded throughout the swing also. You also look like you are cramping the ball a little. Your back looks pretty straight up and down. Would I be correct in saying that you hit mostly pull slices with the driver? If so, back up off the ball a little and get a little bend in your hips. Just be sure to keep that spine angle throughout the swing.

NO NO NO!!!! Dont drop a wedge. Drop the 5 wood or the 3 iron, but I would personally drop the 3 iron. You need the wedges in your bag for scoring opportunities. How often do you stick your 5wood or 3 iron close? You can make the distance gaps up there by choking up with the 5 or really going after the 3iron. Scoring comes from your game 150 and in. The more clubs you have that you can put full swings on from these distances, the better your scoring is going to be, assuming that you get the ball on line, an you know your distances. I mean really, how often can you use a 3 iron in a round??? KEEP THE WEDGES MAN!!!
-
Let me know how many wedges you hit to 10 ft. with a 45" shaft on them. Was this post meant to be serious??
-
Slingshots were rated #1 iron by Golf Digest in 2005(I think it was 05). Just because you bought them used doesnt mean you didnt get a good set. As far as going to multiple teachers, I think when you are new to the game of golf, it is more important that you visit different teaching pros until you find one that you like and stick with them. They all have different teaching methods, and some may work for you while others will not. Finding a pro that melds with your style and game may be more difficult that actually learning to play this game.

You are correct, but there is a happy medium. When your muscles reach a certain size, you will begin to lose flexibility and range of motion, but I dont think most of us will ever run into the problem.
-
If you dont have a swing that is repeatable and consistent, then a launch monitor will do nothing for you.
-
How could you possibly know this without knowing the dynamics of his.her swing. More loft and higher launch arent always the answer. For all you know he/she could be launching the ball too high with too much spin already. Every swing is different. Some times, actually, in most cases, the generic advice of higher loft and higher launch doesnt cure the issue.

380yd 3 wood.... LOL. Someone needs to wake up this pillow biter. As strong and flexible as Tiger Woods. Sorry.... but no. I believe that you previously stated that you used to be a body builder. Every body builder I have ever seen has a very limited range of motion in everything they do, so how could you possibly say that you are as flexible as Tiger? Now..... how long was that hole again? How do you not know the yardage of the hole you claim to have hit this monster 3 wood on? I'll break it down for ya. The card said 350, but that was from the tips and you were playing from the whites, so it was probably 290-320. What you thought was 20yds away from the green was more likely 60. So you hit about a 230-260yd 3 wood. Good job!!!!! Keep posting man...... you write some of the funniest things I have ever read. A little pee almost squirted out I was laughing so hard the first time I read your post.
