  1. There is no way you can PROVE someone has your club unless it has distinct markings that can be verified.
  2. I didn't reply to the spam. I posted below the post. I should have reported it and will next time. The same spam was in another thread. But it looks like administration got it.
  3. To explain. There was a spam post just before this one that was removed by the administrators obviously. Something to do with escort services.
  4. If you engrave a serial number or some other identification on the club there's a chance you could claim it's yours. If you don' t then you can't really say it's yours. At least that's what a policeman told me. It would never stand up in court. And he also stated that's why people know they can steal stuff and get away with it. There are some people that are constantly on the watch everywhere for someone to drop something or leave it behind and they nail it as their own. How to protect yourself. Buy an engraver and identify your clubs. Even then make sure you hide the engraving somewhere so it can't be ground off. Thousands of bicycles are stolen every day and hundreds of golf clubs are left lying on the green. When the flag is pulled and on the green put your club on top of it.
  5. Not recommended for slope rating courses.
  6. The 'hasty' decision was made by the golfer who decided to chase his ball before everyone had finished teeing off. That's not the 'normal' way to play golf. He put himself in danger voluntarily. And then popped up without warning? Should everyone have waited until the golfer who was more interested in his ball than his safety showed up? I can see if he ran down the fairway and was visible that the golfers on the tee should wait but when he is out of sight and aware of the golfers still teeing off?
  7. Spectators at a golf tournament assume the risk of watching the tournament and lining up in front of a pro in a tunnel. Here is a summary of the law in New Jersey from a legal firm. The liability is not cut and dry making the person hitting the ball liable automatically as some think. Yelling FORE is not enough or not yelling FORE is not necessarily accepting blame. http://www.rossettidevoto.com/Articles/Golf.htm
  8. And in other legal cases guys that wander out on to a fairway and are hit by a ball are responsible for their own injury. Golf courses are funny places when it comes to the law.
  9. Is that you Tiger?
  10. When you are on a golf course you are supposed to be aware of what is going on around you. You are not supposed to wander out on a fairway or anywhere on the course where you might be hit by a ball. The guy that went to retrieve his ball was more negligent than the guys teeing off.
  11. The feeling of making that move can get you into a good position on the downswing. Right on. Practice that move in your living room if you have to.
  12. Amir. That's a very good shot. Nice composition.
  13. What camera are you using. A lot of digital cameras don't do well with night exposures. With the old film cameras you could set the camera for as long as you wanted to.
  14. There is a thread on the Trevino swing. Your description is almost the same.
  15. I once saw an article in a scientific type of magazine. It was either Popular Science or Popular Mechanics. It was an interview with Lee Trevino and his swing. The pictures from the top showed the swing as almost a figure eight motion. It went outside first and then came back inside and when you watch him in action that's what he seems to do. It's a pretty flat swing. Apparently he perfected that swing so he could keep the ball low out of the wind. And as soon as you post have a look at the bottom of the post next to the little flag. That's the pencil that you can edit your post with before the pencil disappears after about 10 minutes. Here's a good video of the Trevino swing and some good tips.
  16. I just found out the edit function is only available for a short time, something like 10 minutes. Apparently this is to prevent someone from altering 'history'. So do a preview first and check for the pencil icon.
  17. It never happened. It's a joke and gets plenty of laughs. It never entered my mind that it would be considered a request for a ruling.
  18. Click on the pencil icon at the lower left of the post. You may not have that function yet.
  19. Imagine someone actually having to ask if this is a joke. I told it to the pro and he is a pretty serious guy but laughed his head off.
  20. To: X129 Yes I do notice how qualified you are to respond to posts. You used to be conceited but you got over that and now you are perfect? LOL On a serious note. Jack Nicklaus has designed quite a few golf courses. I would hate to play one that Tiger Woods designed. Every hole over 600 yards including the par 3's? That's all Tiger had over the opposition when he was racking up all the wins and he intimidated everyone. They had to Tiger Proof the Masters course. Now everyone has caught up and passed him and no one is intimidated anymore. He's just part of the group now. He's going to have a tough time squeezing in those wins needed to pass Jack Nicklaus's records.
  21. I think people relate to golfers who played in the same era as their favorite golfer. Golfers who watched both Tiger and Jack can make comparisons. Frankly I was not impressed with Tiger. He comes out of his shoes to hit the ball and that might account for his injuries. Jack on the other hand had a more controlled swing. And when it comes to clutch putting. Who do you think is the better putter? I do admire Tiger for one thing. Anyone who can stay out all night partying and still dominate the opposition has to be good.
  22. Contact the U.S.G.A. and ask them if there is a course rating group set up in your area. Offer your services. You can also ask them if you can get some of the manuals used for course ratings.
  23. This would be an interesting thread if the ages of the golfers replying was mentioned. I have a feeling the younger players would be going with Tiger and the older players with Jack. The older players would have an edge because they have experienced both. I think Tiger is a 'flash in the pan' compared to Jack. My age. 79.
  24. Playing badly under pressure is common among golfers. You have to get a sense that you are under control and that comes with entering more tournaments.
  25. One day just go out to the tee and start playing. You might be amazed at the results. Why leave it all out on the practice tee?
