I'M ECSTATIC!!! Just confirmed that I have gotten my handicap down to 13 as of today!!!! THANK YOU GOLFTEC AND YOUR SHORT GAME CLINIC!!!! I can't thank these guys enough. They know how to work with you when you have a physical handicap as well as golf handicap. I also have to thank the Gurus on this site for their many practice and course management tips. At the start of the season I couldn't wedge up to a green or pop it out of the sand to save my life, now I'm sticking most greens. Fairways are decent, Still need work off the tee box though. If I wasn't having to scramble so much I might even be in the single digits. It also took a lot to stop trying so hard to kill the ball off the tee. Even though I'm still in the trees, it is much more fun than playing the next fairway over........ I feel like I just won the Wannamaker!!!!

replacement for Fujikura shafts......

Hey guys, been a while since I've posted, I always seem to find the answers to my questions without having to ask in these forums. Well, I finally came across a problem that I can't find the answer here already. I want to replace my woods but can't seem to find anything I like. I've been hitting Cleveland's with the Fujikura Fit On Gold shafts. Love the shafts, hate the clubs. I have gotten to the point with my HiBore's where I just can;t stand the sound they make any longer. Problem is I have no idea what shaft I can get that replicates the Fit On Golds. I hit my woods well, just can't stand them anymore. Any advice I can get from the gods is greatly appreciated.

OK, so we got the flippy hands thing fixed, we got the turn fixed, we got the hips moving in the right direction, we've stopped sliding in the back swing, got my head screwed on straight (finally)........ Why can't I follow thru? I hit the ball and basically stop. Right foot barely leaves the turf. Thus, I am creating a push to the right, a fade or a cut. I couldn't hit the left side of the fairway even if the right side didn't exist!!!! If anyone has any tips (BTW, don't know if this would have anything to do with it but had L4/L5 fusion in 2006) that would help get me to be able to turn through the follow thru that'd be great.

Thanks guys. I haven't re-posted in a while since I have been taking in all of this great advice. The knowledge here is priceless. I have since bought myself a Bushnell rangefinder and use it on every hole I play to see the actual distance (carry) that my ball flies. I don't take the run-out into the equation since it will vary too much depending on course conditions, weather, time of day, etc. Taking your advice, anything longer than a par 3 I have been taking less off the tee and more club in the fairway, depending. Being that my short game also really needs work I have been trying to leave the ball short so that I can practice chipping up. (Only during practice rounds). It is amazing to see how far the ball actually flies vs. how far you "think" it flies. It's still tough to play "my game" when I'm playing with the boys. All in all, taking all of this in, my game has been improving quickly and overall scores have been dropping. AND, isn't it amazing how much straighter and farther that little white demon can go when you are playing relaxed vs. ticked off with the testosterone flowing? Next I have to learn to control myself when playing with the guys. Paired up with someone I don't know or out with the wife, low to mid 40's, out with the guys, all the smack being talked, trying to out drive your buddy, SLICE - O - RAMA time!!! Time to beat the mental game!! Thanks again to all of you!!!

Older Driver (New Shaft), or New Driver (Stock Shaft)
gfd66 replied to saevel25's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I've been thinking about doing the same with my Cleveland HiBore. Now that my swingspeed has finally improved I need a stiffer shaft but can't justify $300 for a new one. -
About to start week 3 of P90X!!! I need a vacation........

OK, I'm looking into a new bag. I have a push cart but am not opposed to a carry bag. I like a bag that can hold all my stuff so that I don't have to pack it differently every time I go out. Although it would probably be better if I did. So I am looking to the best minds in golf (yeah, that's you guys) to aid me in my search. I've been looking at the Sun Mountain Four 5 and C-130, and I've looked at a few Nike bags. Really don't like the Datrek bags at all, too darn big and bulky. So, what have you got, what do you like/dislike about it, what would you recommend? Thanks guys!!!!

If you have an iPhone, Golfshot is fairly decent, and it's free.

I've put a lot of thought into putting a net in my garage, that will also be portable out in the yard during warmer weather, but what I've found in the stores seem very flimsy for the price. Especially when compared to the netting that they have at GolfTec. The netting they use is very tight, definitely doesn't look like a ball would go through it. Does anyone have a recommendation as to a really good net that's not going to break the bank? I'd like to keep the windows intact that are in my garage......

Got any really good tips? So far the only real tip I've gotten was from a neighbor who had told me to borrow or buy a range finder and figure out "real" distances for every club in my bag. 1/2, 3/4 and full swings. He says that I guess too much and I'm usually a club to two clubs short of what I'm trying to reach.

Found another one..... http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Personal-Rubber-Mat-Tees-3-NEW-/250900895038?_trksid=p3286.m7&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D3%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D3135167845687202311

Has anybody ever heard of The Weather Company products? Price is right up my alley, but I don't want to buy them and find out later that they're junk.

Thanks for all the input. I checked out the stuff from Golfsmith/Snake Eyes. seemed a bit flimsy for the price. I'm sure it would probably work out well but it's just my opinion based on the feel of it. I think I'm going to check out the Nike and the ZR equipment. Sun Mountain has too many bad reviews and FJ is just too damn pricey. Again, thanks for all the input, I really appreciate it.

I am needing to buy some rain gear, I like the idea of being able to zip off the sleeves mid-length. Don't really want to spend a ton. Also not sure what size. Do I go 1 size larger since I'll be putting them on over what I'm wearing? What do you guys use or recommend?

anybody wear a glove on both hands?
gfd66 replied to DoorKicker's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
Where ever you live, I need to move there. Northern Illinois gets real cold and there's a few courses that will stay open till the first snow!! -
I'm setting up an outing for some of the guys at the firehouse to a place called Top Golf. It's an indoor simulation type place with all of the amenities. Food, beverages, cart girls, etc. Looking for the best 18 holes ever (the dream 18 if you will) for us to play. Of course there will have to be.... #6 @ PGA National #8 @ Pebble #9 @ Turnberry #11 @ Augusta #17 @ St. Andrews (Old Course) #17 @ Sawgrass #18 @ Pebble #11 @ Ballybunion What else? What holes are on your bucketlist?

Staying within the same subject matter, does anyone have any recommendations for cold weather gloves? -
I'm still going to go and get fit, but I just couldn't pass up the deal. $100 + shipping for the set. At the worst I'll still get my $ back selling them off to someone here at the firehouse.

To try them out, I got a really good deal on a set of Cleveland TA7's with True Temper R300 Gold shafts. I should be getting them towards the end of the week. It was a deal almost too good to be true. I'm still going to hold on to my Callaways, just in case......

Thanks for all the info, I didn't think that I was "handsie" with my putter, but I had my wife video me with my iPhone and noticed that I am a little bit "handsie", it looks as if I am unconciously trying to steer the ball into the hole. I also have a lot of head movement and I am definitely hitting late in the upswing. Any recommended drills to combat this?

Guilty as charged, just bought a set of Cleveland TA7's off Ebay.
