  1. How do you make sure you are buying an authentic SC off ebay?
  2. About 2 or 3 weeks ago I would have said: -driver or woods I would play off my left heel -long irons (4,5,6) in between the driver and center -short irons/wedges (7,8,9) play center Now, as others have said, I play the ball depending on the shot I am trying to make. A high lofted pitch, I'll play the ball a little forward from center to try and lift the ball. A low, straight chip, I'll play the ball a little farther back from center in order to hit in a more descending manner.
  3. Your absolutely right. I just noticed that.
  4. Hybrids don't work for everyone. I personally, have a hard time with my long irons. Specifically my 4 and 5 iron. I haven't tried a hybrid just yet, but my guess is that my problem with the 4 and 5 iron might be rectified by substituting those with hybrids. If you don't have a problem hitting with your long irons, then hybrids aren't necessary. Most professionals don't carry a hybrid in their bag....
  5. Actually, I can. Sasquatch 460 Sasquatch 460 Tour The slight difference between the two is the Tour letters found above the "460". Tiger using Sasquatch 460 Tour Save the image and zoom in on the club. You can see that there is lettering above the 460 and loft angle. The regular 460 does not have any lettering above the 460 or loft angle. That picture was taken at the 2007 US Open.
  6. What types of things can they do to a putter that's already new???
  7. Tiger's Bag - he uses the Tour version
  8. Yes, it was Titleist.
  9. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Keep in mind he uses the Sasquatch Tour 460, not the Sumo². The Sasquatch Tour 460 is not as boxy as the Sumo².
  10. I can't believe they don't get returned. I could never and would never keep a club that I found on a course. I actually found a SW on the 15th of last weekend. Placed in the cart and waited for its owner to look for it. As soon as I saw the guy's look on his face, I knew he was looking for his wedge.
  11. From what I'm reading, this club goes far and it goes straight.
  12. I'll have to keep that in mind.
  13. GREAT TIP! I never thought about that!
  14. What about his swing isn't orthodox?
  15. The ball coming off my irons mostly rolls forwards after hitting the ground. I know this from my last 18 holes I played last weekend. My short iron game was pretty solid.
  16. Steep with short irons. Sweep with driver/woods/long irons? Is that right?
  17. I try and hit the range about twice a week. Each session, I hit about 60-90 balls. Usually, my routine consists of pulling out my wedges and practicing chipping, then pitching, then working my way up the irons to about a 7 or 6 iron. Since I've only been playing for about two months, anything past a 6 iron does not get hit consistently, straight, or well. I can hit my wedges, 9, 8, and 7 iron pretty well. My distance isn't the greatest with my 7 iron, but my 9 and 8 irons are almost average distance. But, more importantly, I hit them straight. When I move up the irons or even try a crack at the woods or driver, I cannot hit the ball straight, even if I tried. I tried slowing my swing down, strengthening my grip, and varying ball position. Nothing works. I maintain a strong grip to begin with because I tend to slice the ball. Besides, my hands, when falling naturally at my sides, tend to have a "strong" look to them. So, when I address my irons, I usually have a strong grip. My problem seems to be my right hand. I am not comfortable with my right hand grip. I've had one pro lesson and she corrected my right hand right away. She mentioned that my right hand was not lining up correctly (using two tee to show me). I was able to get something going at the lesson, but since then have not been able to duplicate the comfort I had regarding my right hand over my left. Can this discomfort be contributing to my slice and why is my slice not apparent in my short irons?
  18. Have to admit, the SC Newport 2 is such a beautiful club. But, I can't let the looks sway my decision.
  19. I tried out a SC last night, but not the Studio Newport. I tried out the Newport Detour that they had in the store. What a difference a good putter makes! It just makes a sweet sound when it hits the ball. The ball comes off the putter a lot more crisp and connected to the putter. My current putter feels muted and bland. Very unpredictable.
  20. My current bag (complete set) is in my signature. My next bag will be the following: DRIVER - Sasquatch Sumo² 13° 3 WOOD - Sasquatch 2 15° 5 WOOD - Sasquatch 2 19° 3 HYBRID - Ignite 20° 4 HYBRID - CPR-3 26° IRONS - Ignite 4-9 PW - Ignite 46° SW - Ignite 54° PUTTER - Newport Detour
  21. When I'm in the market for a new putter, I've currently narrowed down my choice to the two mentioned in my Tittle: -Odyssey Black Series #1 -Scotty Cameron Studio Newport 2 Both of these putters have been critically acclaimed in various publications. I probably can't go wrong with either one. Can someone explain the subtle differences between them and their experiences with either or both of them?
  22. I had no idea that TW and AS have almost the same, identical swing.
  23. Definitely over rotating. I'm surprised you don't hurt yourself. Do you get any minor back pain after playing a round of golf? Setting the club late isn't a flaw, IMO. For example, TW sets his club "late" as well. A very long arcing swing. If it works for you, there's no reason to try and tweak or change that.
  24. Left shoulder behind the ball....sounds good. I'm going to try that.
  25. Welcome. I'm from LI.
