  2. Entered. Think its almost time to replace my G15
  3. This year our new years golf wasn't to bad Unkynd. I think by the end of our round (9 holes) I lost 6 golf balls. More than I like but then again there was a foot of snow on the ground. The course we play every year is one of the cheaper courses in my area so they done really lock up the course. But my uncle is friends with the owner so that helps a little. During our round we all got to talking, and we are actually going to attempt to start a 4 man scramble on new years day. Come up with modified rules, and possible door prizes and such. Well assuming we are able to get enough die hard golfers willing to play regardless of the weather. I think that will be the hardest part.
  4. I was just curious to see if there are any crazy golf traditions that you all may have. We have a tradition in my family. The tradition was started by my grandfather way before I was born, and he has been gone now 20 years, but the tradition is still going strong. Our tradition is pretty simple, Myself along with 4 of my uncles and 2 brothers. We go and play golf every new years day at 8am. Every year we start our round taking a shot of whiskey in memory of my grandfather. We play in the rain or shine. Being in ohio we have played in 50 degree weather, and we have played in a foot of snow. This year has gone to the snow. We currently have 8-12 inches of snow on the ground. So my night will include painting golf balls fluorescent pink for tomorrows round... Please feel free to share any family golf traditions you may have. Hit'em straight in the new year!!
  5. Driver: 270 3 Wood: 240 5 Wood: 230 4 Hybrid: 215 5 Iron; 195 6 Iron: 185 7 Iron: 175 8 Iron: 160 9 iron: 150 PW: 135 GW: 120 SW: 0-110 These are my rough estimates with my old clubs. Just got a new set of Callaway X18s that havent been hit yet. Plan on getting them out this weekend to try and get my distances. Try and get them dialed in before my annual Myrtle golf trip next week!
  6. I would play it. Nothing wrong with playing for a cause. Look at Bubba. He has no problem playing an all pink club. But he dose back it up with his monster drives.
  7. Another great contect on The Sand Trap. Would be a great one to win!! Good Luck everyone.
  8. I am from central Ohio, and what I found to be really go is a thing called the players club pass. The pass entitles you to unlimited range balls, free USGA handicap tracking, free clinics to attend and free green fees after 1pm M-T and after 5pm F-S. They only charge you a cart fee to play, and its $9 to play 9 and $17 to play 18 (they make you pay the cart fee regardless you use a cart or not). Talking with workers from the course they will be raising the green fees to $70 for 18. The players club costs $35 a month and you get everything I mentioned above. I really good deal to play at a really nice course.
  9. Hello everyone. I looked through the forum and didnt see any new post on this subject. So I figured I would start a new post just to see what new clubs everyone would like to have. I know Im not the best golfer so Im not going to say I want all tour clubs and blades, bec I would stand a chance. So it will be interesting to see what clubs you guys choose for your skill level. I look forward to see what everyone post. Here is my dream set: Driver - Callaway RAZR Fit Fairway Wood - Callaway RAZR Fit Hybrid - Taylormade Rocketballz Rescue Iron Set - Taylormade Rocketballz Wedges - Cleveland 588 forged Putter - Taylormade Ghost Spider Bag - Callaway Hyper-Lite 4.5 Thanks for reading!!!

  11. As for shot shape, With driver I normally hit it straight, and irons play a high draw
  12. It seems from your description that I am more like that #2 option you wrote. When my ball hits the green, it is usually with in 2 feet of the divot. Sometime in front of the divot and other times behind it. But normally in the same area. Thank you for your reply, I will work on getting a video posted soon.
  13. Hello everyone, I hope your all having a great golf season so far this year. I know I am, I have already dropped my handicap from a 16 to 14.8 this season and hope to continue to get better. That is one reason I am here. Looking for advise or tips. Now down to the problem. As I had said I am a 14.8 handicap so I am not the perfect ball striker. But I have had pretty consistant distances with all my clubs. I hit my driver an average of 270 and my 7 iron around 170. So my distances are not all that bad, but the ball flight on the other hand. Now the ball flight is very, very high. People are amazed on how high I hit the ball but continue to get my distances. My question is what cause the high ball flight? I get it through my entire set, driver-SW. I know the key is hitting down and clean contact. I would say 80% of the time it is good contact but just goes super high (dont know if it matters but I am using graphite shafts in all my irons, which im not very fond of just no money to buy new). So my question is, is the problem something to do with me swing? Are the graphite shafts the problem for me? Could it be a combination of both? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
  14. Well I have a couple good shots this past weekend. First was a narrow 360 yard par 4. To be safe I hit my 3 wood, Hit it dead on the screws to 60 yards. Bladed the chip over, then chipped to 4 ft for my par. Then on the 510 yard par 5 18th. This hole goes to me and my uncle (6 handicap). We both hit our drives dead center of the fair way. I am sitting 203 with a head wind, and my uncle is sitting about 200. We both then proceed to hit a hybrid 4. We both end up about 10 yards short of the green. The pin was back right, so still had about a 30 yard chip for both of us. I was out so I hit first and stuck it a foot from the hole. My uncle then did the same thing!! Both ended out round with a birdie, nice way to finish.
  15. Nothing wrong with them, they hit nice. Im just trying to keep an open mind and consider the other options as well. Right now I am leaning more towarsd the callaway, unless my mind gets changed!!
