  1. that was so horrible. bermans on crack
  2. This is something I just haven't paid any attention to: so Every tourney, the hosts have the option to change the tees as well as the pins. VERY interesting. Previously I had thought that they moved the tees up and back within the SAME tee box, but COMPLETELY different boxes? Jeez, I have been watching golf for YEARS . . . but i have been BLIND. . . oh so very blind. . .
  3. You would be my hero if when somebody yelled "GITH" you yelled just as loud, "Shut up you ASS!" or something.
  4. Just now on ESPN extra they said that the Hole #3 is playing from the back tees--50 yards longer than yesterday--on the par 3. Now, on my Golf Digest TP South insert, three par 3's have alternate yardages for a combined yardage difference of 202 yards. But NOT listed on the insert are alternate tee lengths for any par 4 or 5. However yesterday one of the talking heads said that on the 615 yd par 5 13th, they were playing from much shorter tees: I think 70 yards shorter. . . I wish there was a yardage given for each day of play
  5. Sergio seems to have peaked at 22
  6. Preach on!!! Notice the latest Sam Adams commercials talking up their trips to Bavaria for hops. Only American beer that tastes good to me.
  7. He gave a BIG wince after his drive on 18th (big fade with driver). They played it back a few times, and then asked him about it in post-round interview. He said that the knee is pretty sore, and he would play through it.
  8. Does anybody know a way to find the REAL yardages day by day at TP South. They are playing many tees in the first round that looked to shorten the record 7600+ yardage significantly!
  9. You may be right, Treehorn (nice! -ever been to Lebowski fest?) He defended his 3w/no driver choice in the post round interview, but we shall see manana!
  10. It's time to celebrate the ridiculous: Post the stupid things Johnny and the rest say! I'll kick it off: Thursday afternoon, Sergio Garcia pulls a 5 foot put for bogie and Johnny Miller says, "Talk about YANKEE DOODLE!"
  11. THAT WINCE AFTER THE DRIVE ON 18 WAS not BECAUSE OF THE DRIVE. He is hurtin!
  12. When I switched from ESPN (not HD) to NBC HD today, the difference was big. The picture was much sharper and you see much more gleam of the grass. You can see the skin melanoma on the older guys. . .
  13. FOWLER (amateur) just finished 1st round at -1. He looks 12 years old.
  14. So far Scott's swing looks unaffected. His swings off the tee look full and rhythmic to me. He has been putting pretty average, however.
  15. Far be it from me to act like I know anything about tournament golf. . BUT. "bone headed" may be the key. And by that I mean his conversations with caddy Bones before EVERY shot. The conversations they show on TV are long and wordy, and it seems like maybe there's a lot of room to talk himself into trouble. Anyone out there watched Phil and Bones live? Is it as loquacious as it looks?
  16. I would love to see KJ make this his first major. I like his game!
  17. How about this Hicks guy?? Clubhouse -3!! 33 years old . . TW is making RIDICULOUS par save putts today. $200,000 says Phil has a driver in his bag tomorrow.
  18. NBC HD LOOKS FANTASTIC. Everytime I hear Chris Berman talking about golf I think of his HORRIBLE round at Pebble . . . you could see his plumber crack THROUGH his golf shirt. NOW THAT'S AN ACCOMPLISHMENT! holy crap Tiger has made so many clutch par save putts today.
  19. Yeah, you guys are right. There is no way that 65.5 makes sense on this course for a par 54. I am adjusting that in my scorecard software stats. Thanks for the help
  20. I played an 18 hole par 3 course today- Tower Tee in St. Louis. Its a nice little course with lots of variation in hole length, elevation, green size, and green slope. I noticed on the scorecard they give a rating of 65.5 and slope of 105. It is a true par 3 course: 54 total par. I don't understand handicap, the rating system, or slope beyond entering numbers into my Scorecard Software and believing what it tells me. Can I enter this course, and its rating/slope into my Scorecard and accept my scores as applied to Handicap? I haven't done this before. How does a par 3 course affect one's handicap?
  21. Golf is like the girl who only likes you if you pretend that you aren't interested!?
  22. Today was great. I played Tower Tee in St Louis, which I played EXTENSIVELY two summers ago (last time I worked in STL). Tower Tee is a nice little par 3 course that has 18 holes, most of which are 75-110 yards, with some nice 130-165 yard holes thrown in. Lots of elevation changes and sloping greens. Back in 2006, I didn't have a 75 yard shot, or a reliable 100yd shot in my bag, so I was choking down, half swinging, and basically pulling shots out of my ass. After playing there many times the lowest I shot was a 64-- ten over par. Today I returned after two years and with a lot of short game work under my belt. Armed with my Pelz 10:30 swing, and my four wedges (PW 52,56,60) I shot a casual 62 with 28 putts. I was giddy on the many 60-110 yd holes which gave me so much trouble two years ago. It was a real testament to hard work paying off. Because my Opera Career keeps me on the road and playing different courses, its hard to track progress. It was really nice to return to a familiar place and see IMPROVEMENT!!!!
  23. I am frustrated, because I remember reading that post, and I can't "search" it. I tried "pie" and "pie hole"
  24. 27 putts in my all time low round: 75. 16 putts on the front, 11 on the back. Everything went in on the back 9. I wish I was using scorecard technology back then--I would have kept track of the distance of those putts.
  25. Yeah, I have found that the solution to golf taking so much time, has been to involve the family as well. . . and it has been for the better of the fam so far!
