Whats your range routine?
CurtisBen replied to toddmlazarchick's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I really don't have a routine just warm up with a few sw and then a couple of 8 irons and then I try to play golf on the range different club for every shot and actually try to play my home course on the range. -
Will also break them up if someone wanted just the iron heads I would be willing to do that.

I have a set of 735's from Titleist they are the combo set 3 thru 7 cavity back and 8 thru pw are blades. They have the Tri spec steel shafts in stiff. I am really wanting to get rid of these so lets start pricing at 250. Don't have camera right now will post pics asap or I can just email them to you. Thanks, Ben Edit: I have added pics also wanted to let you know that there are two small rock nicks on the 8 iron but they have never affected my play with them. Please let me know if you want anymore info. Thanks, Ben

You know I have found this very point as a glaring weakness and now after almost an entire season as had me struggle I am getting better with making solid contact with my putter I am working on that at night in the house but I finally feel that I can make decent contact with my putter. I just wished I would have figured this out sooner.

If you don't mind driving across the bay and you have to pay a toll but, Bluewater Bay is a decent place for not that much I would image that time of year it would be pretty cheap. It has four different nines instead of two eighteens. I personally like the Lake and Marsh courses the best but the magnolia is not to bad.

More Scotty advice needed please
CurtisBen replied to YogiTKE's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I love my Studio Stainless I will not putt with anything else everytime I try something out I just can't get rid of it. -
You know they make that under armour stuff for a reason. I would play in a lot less than that.

There is a place outside Memphis called Spring Creek Ranch. I think it might be kinda tough to get on but if you can all I have heard is do it. Supposedly it is a Jack Nicklaus design that he did for an Opthamologist in Memphis as a favor the doctor is supposedly loaded out and that he pull all stops for this golf course. It will be interesting to hear if ya'll get on.

Anyone Been to Santee SC, or RTJ trail?
CurtisBen replied to Big_M's topic in Golf Courses and Architecture
I haven't played the courses listed but all of the RTJ golf trail are nice courses. I am a big fan of Ross Bridge in Birmingham and like the courses at Muscle Shoals they are nice but mostly convenient for me becasue I live about 1 1/2 hours from there quick weekend get away from or with the family. -
I guess I am the different one. I sold my hybrid and picked up a 5 wood. But each to their own I could not hit the hybrid.

I posted a 79 and I play off a 13.

Guys I am actually in the optical industry so we are discussing something I actually know something about. (that is a first on a golf board) I just want ya'll to know that I make eye glasses all day long and there are a lot of options for golfer who have to wear corrective eye wear. As far as the bifocals and such there are also a number of options that most places won't give you because the guy running their lab doesn't play golf. First off though sunglasses on the market today ought to be able to hold most of the prescriptions out there of course the higher the script the more you are going to have to pay to get the right lenses to make it comfortable but, when it comes to your eyesight I don't think you should skimp out. While I don't believe in selling someone soemthing they do not need or want I do believe in giving all of our patients the options to chose what they want to wear on thier face. But, to answer the question you ought to be able to find some sunglasses that are comfortable and still look stylish. If anyone has questions please feel free to pm me and I will gladly answer them.

I just don't get the idea's of Obama I mean look at government housing for one example who in their right mind would want that for health care. Really. Also if you take the people who are on the verge of hitting that 250 thousand dollar limit like the man that I work for and give him no incentive to go beyond that so he cuts my hours and I am getting hosed but I am also NOT recieving a tax break just not new taxes. While I still am paying for this bail-out *&(^. Sorry just my rant. Also at least we caught a few tax breaks with W.

I remember something about maybe Greg Norman or someone about that time frame who's house was broken into and all he wanted was his clubs. I can imagine that those guys spend hours getting thier irons and woods right. Hardly seems worth it to change it up every year, besides trying new technology.

I was not playing in the group but I was lucky enough to be in the club house when this incident happened. Apperently there was a foursome coming down eighteen one of them apperently had not played well and chunk a wedge from about 100 yards right into a lake. Well this guy undid his whole bag and threw it in the lake all intact. So they finish up and come into the clubhouse and this guy is trying his hardest to get out the door and he got to the parking lot and realized that he left his keys in the bag. So by that time everyone had heard about it and when out to see him wade out in the lake to get his keys and laugh. It was the largest gallery I think anyone has had here.

Anybody else got big plans for the 4th of July weekend?
CurtisBen replied to GaijinGolfer's topic in The Grill Room
I guess I will probably play in our 4th of July golf scramble. Then probably cook steaks and drink some brewskis. -
One easy way to read grain (well on bermuda in Mississippi at least) is to look at the cup on the opposite side of the cup as the grain grows will be a little brown. I was told that is because the roots were cut with the hole.

I read somewhere that someone was predicting that Ohio State would get to the ship again. And play Georgia. If they do and get beat again bad. I peronally think that someone needs to pull their card even if they do win their confrence. IMOP. I am a Mississippi State fan though and I actually hope we can make some noise down here.

I second the biltmore. My wife and I stayed there for our 1st anniversary and I love that place. It is really exceptional in the fall also.
