  1. 3 wedges....pitching wedge..sand wedge...and lob wedge..shown in "signature"... wedges are your friend ....
  2. thanks..typo... ..corrected...
  3. working out too much with weights totally messed up my game...leaner and toned is fine...but bulking up (even a little bit)...it's almost like trying to learn to swing a club again..and readjusting a bit...
  4. watching the guy do it...he slit the stock grip to the logo....marked with sharpie..removed the old grip completely...and pushed in the new grip to align with the mark he made....of course the marking was covered once the grip was push in all the way in...
  5. currently regripped to mizuno black full cord grip (golf pride tour velvet cord .580 round equivalent) ...has great feel 'n' hold...
  6. what are you going to do with your odyssey rossie?...that was close 2nd choice.....
  7. had the opportunity to test out the taylormade r7 irons ... ...these irons were carrying the balls 10~15+ yards further compared to the mizuno mx-23...and extremely forgiving and easy to hit....truely amazing distance...straight and high ...(had to make one minor adjustment to the placement of the ball, but figured i out after 2 or 3 swings...placed ball bit further toward the tip of the head...) ..almost made me want to switch to them....thought maybe the different placement of the ball was what was making me hit further...tried it with my mx-23...and nope...that wasn't it...
  8. "noob" to the forum..'n' already findin' a wealth of information here.. started playing 2005 (winter)... few lessons to get started...and hacking away....started out with a set of mizuno mx-15...mizuno mp series chrome wedges and a nike driver...upgraded shortly after...and within in the last week began getting refitted, reshafted, regripped, replacements, etc. in attempt to lower my handicap....
  9. Handicap Index: 9.6 ... ....not only impressive..but amazing~!~@!#$...i'm jealous
  10. 60 wedge for anything under 70 yards....which is quite frequent....
  11. odyssey was pretty much my close 2nd when i was testing out putters for seriously over a week for hours each day..every chance i got....seriously...performance, accuracy and consisteny...an odyssey putter was pretty much equal....i basically bought the bettinardi based purely on looks...the black carbon is really a beautiful putter....
  12. ditto...do the same...i guess that's how i was taught and it has pretty much stuck on me like glue....
  13. i basically spent days trying out different putters...trying out each putter from 5ft, 10ft and 15ft...and i found that i was much more consistent with mallet style putters.... than i considered the weight of the putter....testing out putters of various weight....found that light to medium weight was my cup of tea... top came out to be: first place: mizuno bettinardi milled black carbon bc3 - $250... second place: odyssey white hot xg #5 and the rossie - $120... third place: titleist scotty cameron red x charcoal mist - $300... i ended up getting the mizuno bettinardi bc3 ....the odyssey and mizuno offered pretty much identical yields in accuracy, consistency and comfort....the scotty was bit on the "heftier" side and appeared little more difficult to control the accuracy....i went with the mizuno because the bettinardi was just so "beautiful" and a real work of art compared to all... i don't think there is a "right" putter for all...and found odyssey seems to make a comparable putter for almost all brands out on the market...if you want to spend less...and looking at the poll..i think it shows odyssey will give you the best bang for your buck when it comes to putters.....
  14. being far from intermediate (or advanced)...i find the hybrid extremely useful.....if i were to hit the ball always on the fairway, i probably would have no need for a hybrid.....but i'm far from perfect and occasionally in the rough... when the rough is slightly deeper (but, having a clear path) i have trouble with my 3 or 4 iron getting slowed down too much when cutting through the grass before striking the ball.... when in the rough..i'll take out my hybrid....the hybrid pushes down on the grass and slide on top...and strikes the ball out and much further than my irons.... if i was hitting from the fairway...distance wise...it's the same..hybrid or long iron...there really isn't much of different....and usually hitting a hybrid and long iron is about the same difficulty..... only reason for a hybrid for me....when the ball is in the rough.....
  15. reshafting can be expensive...the cost of a decent quality shaft can be in the $80 to $100 range...with an added cost of $20 for labor and $5~$10 for grip.... i spent $120 yesterday to reshaft my 3 wood...i could have sold my 3 wood for $50 (or less) and bought a new 3 wood....but...thought just custom fitting my old would be best and hassle free.....
  16. i ordered the bettinardi black carbon bc3....mallet.....i was told that the shipment will be coming in on 10/3/07....
