New Shaft On My Driver - Worth it?
bengals/redsox replied to mb22's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
IMO at 115 mph driver swing speed I wouldn't go to x stiff it most likely will feel "boardy" to you i'm not sure that you will be able to fire an x stiff a low launching stiff is what I would be leaning towards but again IMO -
Has anyone played these irons? I am very interested in getting a set of these they are the nicest blades out there now IMO...besides miura's...just wondering how they feel/hit I love the new wedges they have thats why im wondering about the irons

anyone try the titleist zm forged irons
bengals/redsox replied to kekoa's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Hey, I have the 695 mb's very much similar ive heard and I love them very solid and great workability....but unfortunately you have to be an A+ ball striker to use them to their potential...if you can its well worth it -
IMO...Project X no question, the trajectory control and ball control in general is unreal I would not have anything but project x

I bought a new driver and 3 wood am very happy with them..best driver ive ever owned, need new wedges thinking either taylormade tp's with the new grooves or else some vokeys...other than that im very happy with the setup.. as for plans the long hard road to get to scratch will hopefully end but my free time will be the issue

What irons do you use
bengals/redsox replied to shsgolfer#1's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I use titleist 695 mb's with project x shafts... by far the best set of clubs I have ever owned...throwing darts is an understatement with these baby's !!! -
Hey, Im in the market for a new driver the cobra is not doing it for me... just wondering some oppinions on drivers. I was thinking of a Titleist 905R or 907 D2 I am very open to other brands since I havent tried many of the new ones but like the player/open faced drivers. Thanks

If I had 4000 for a set of irons and wedges my oppinion would be a set of miura tournamet blades in my oppinion the best blades out there expensive but if you have the money that would be my choice as for wedges i ould suggest vokey's there very proven. If you dont want to go the miura way the irons I have now I love titleist 695 mb's great workability and control my favorite titleist clubs.

Looking for a new Driver...
bengals/redsox replied to onthehunt526's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
My oppinion on a driver for you since you are a very low handi is a 907 d2 or a cobra speed pro (which I hit) but more importantly is the shaft I think that the shaft half the battle cobra has the alida vs proto in the speed pro which is an awesome shaft and titleist has very good aftermarket shafts aswell -

Hi, I have been thinking about changing my wedge setup since my weak lofted clubs no longer require a 52 and also have never tried a hybrid. I was thinking of going to a vokey 54 and 58 and changing my 15 to a 13 and playing a 17 degree hybrid? I was watching tv and a teacher said that if you are not playing a hybrid you are losing strokes....ive personally never had one but am thinking of trying one...thoughts??

I changed from being a dynamic gold fan to project x in one range session for me they are simply amazing...tried the dynamic gold shafts in my new 695's again and for me they fly too high just cannot keep the ball down so immediately went back to the project's...best low ball flight shafts in my oppinion
-
I personally swear by cobra woods ive hit a few of their drivers and to me their the longest out there, I heard the new lv4 is unreal never tried it but ive heard great stuff about it in my oppinion any driver you buy off the shelf the shaft is the most important all the heads now are long the shaft is most peoples problem find the right shaft you will be farther ahead

I use the conventional 48 deg pitching wedge 52 deg gap wedge 56 deg sand wedge and 60 deg lob wedge...it has been working I think in the spring I am going to switch to a 58 deg lob wedge for the simple reason that the gap is too big between the 56 and 60 about 20 - 25 yards I would like to have it to 10 - 15 like all the other irons
-
my specs Driver - 9.5 3 Wood - 15 3 iron - 22 4 iron - 25 5 iron - 28 6 iron - 32 7 iron - 36 8 iron - 40 9 iron - 44 p wedge - 48 gap wedge - 52 sand wedge - 56 lob wedge - 60 I also play all my irons 2 degrees upright and half inch long

bengals/redsox replied to Laxplayer201092's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
hi, my dad plays the titleist 755's he plays to about a 10-12 handi he is a good iron player has absolutely no trouble hitting the 755's ive hit them many times they are a great iron more forgiveness than the callaway x forged with about the same feel in my oppinion, I would buy 755's in a heartbeat over any irons for a mid handicapper I highly suggest these irons...hope the input helps. -

Titleist 775 CB vs. Callaway X-20
bengals/redsox replied to Philbo's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
755's and 775's are different I know that...but what I am thinking is if he is a 10 handicap he should have no trouble hitting titleist 755's which will give him more workability which he is looking for because the 775's are the more forgiving of the 2
