  1. 84, but get this... Out +12, in +2..... Haven't played in about a month, but shot an 84 overall. Was about to lose it in the beginning but stuck with it, and my irons and putting saved me. The driver has gone to poop, eventually put it away and stuck to 3w. Probably had a lot to do with my back 9 score.
  2. Congrats! Im getting married at the end of the month and pray that some day we have memories like this!
  3. I've been shooting in the mid 80's recently, so yeah. Putting has been huge for me, as I typically don't have trouble getting on the green for a birdie put. But if I'm off that birdie can drop to a par or bogey... Practice practice. I also saw a huge difference after I started using GPS. I use the free golf logix app, it does the job alright. Probably gonna get a rangefinder for next bow season.
  4. Srixon q stars, gamers, and e6's in that order. All are good though
  5. 1. Are you a member of a private golf club? Nope 2. How many rounds per year do you play? 50 ish 3. Have you ever done exercise programs to alleviate pain or improve swing? Yes 4. If so, what type of program? Yoga, ruined both my hamstrings playing football. 5. Does your home golf course provide exercise programs? No 6. Have you ever done yoga? Yes it's the reason I can still do squats 7. Would you be interested in a yoga program that alleviate pain or improved wing?sure 8. If not interested, please briefly explain why. Crossfit is also a great program, but your body has to be able to handle it.
  6. I have to say I'm not a fan of Fowlers getup like y'all mentioned, but at the same time he's entitled to wear what he wants. He seems like a decent guy, so I can't really hate him despite how he underachieves. He maybe be flamboyant but at least he's not Dennis Rodman. It's all about Vijay, unprofessional and no class.
  7. Ping g15 3 wood, was on the clearance rack and caught a great deal. Plus a box of e6's
  8. Dude I know what you mean... The "god d@$& it I really don't wanna do this, this is gonna freakin hurt" feeling... I love crossfit, but I'm trying to gain some weight so I'm on a more traditional workout routine... So dull. But I cf makes me look like I'm right out of boot again. Rowing is great, try swimming too. I still finish with a swim a couple times a week
  9. 3 mile run then this circuit 3x for time: 20 pull ups 10 Bodyweight squats Pushups to failure After that ab/core workout of: Barbell ab rolls Oblique leg raises
  10. The gf's grandparents gave me a couple boxes of these for xmas. They are very soft, and play real well in the mid to short range. Nice feel off the putter. Not a huge fan of them off the driver, as they will definately spin. However past that, they are a pretty decent ball.
  11. I picked up a pair of Merrell barefoot shoes today. Played nine in them and LOVED it. Walking on the green was especially nice.
  12. Thanks for the good wishes! Ironically I actually hit my first birdie ever today on a par 3 that was about 100yds . However to be fair I've had many potential birdie putts before, and today's birdies (had several) were more of a result of my putting improvements than anything else. I've always that found I could just feel out those weird approach shots with my SW PW or 9 by manipulating my swing, my short(er) game has actually usually been the strongest for me. I have also never hit my PW 140 yds, even with these strong lofts. I've gained about 1 club distance with most of my irons, maybe half or less with my 9 and PW. The biggest benefit I've seen so far is a smaller gap between clubs, as well as consistency in shots. The two biggest adjustments I've had to make with these irons are their length(of shaft), and how they look at address. I'll admit these look kinda funny at address, and I'm still getting used to aligning them. I'll probably start a thread about these irons after I've played a little more with them, but I am liking these clubs. They no doubt have some benefits for us high handicappers, but to be honest I think the most important gains are not the ones they are advertising. I guess increasing your distance sells better than increasing your consistency...
  13. Been playing for exactly a year, decided to get some decent stuff now that I know I'll stick with the game. Odyssey White Ice #9 35". Love the feel, might shorten it eventually . Callaway Diablo Edge Steel 3-PW, which according to UPS should be arriving tomorrow . Interested to see whats gonna happen with these strong lofts, they seem to be in between RBZ's and Dragon's Mizunos for both loft and length.
  14. That set is similar to the callaways diablos I just ordered. They start at 19, but their lofts go a little higher as they progress. 3-19 4-22 5-25 6-28 7-32 8-36 9-40 PW-44 These are supposed to be game improvement irons, so I imagine they're trying to get distance/forgivibility/etc in one club. I guess we'll see how they do.
  15. Thanks guys for the advice, I ended up deciding to do it the right way and save. Should have them in a few weeks.
  16. I was just wondering the other day if this movement would make its way into golf. Would love to try these out, but literally got a new pair of callaways right before I saw this . I've always wanted to try golf barefoot, but how waterproof are these? I live in an area where courses turn back into the swamps they used to be after a little rain/high tide. Still think I might give these a go eventually. I'm interested to see how the more conservative courses react to these!
  17. Yeah I was considering adjusting the lofts eventually, but I want to see how I hit them first. I'm still a high handicapper so playing with my lofts isn't #1 priority. Good read though, confirms my previous thoughts.
  18. Thanks for the info fellas, the set I'm going to get is all one degree below the numbers zeph gave. I guess thats just another way for them to claim their clubs are longer
  19. What is the typical degree of loft seen on clubs? I know it'll vary somewhat, but I'm trying to get a typical range so I can compare some numbers. Any help is appreciated Thanks!
  20. Anyone have experience buying from these guys with their credit cards (the whole no interest for 6 months)? I've got good credit, and I'm not trying to mess it up over some golf clubs. That said, I'm trying to get a decent set on a college kids budget.
  21. Hey all- I have been in the market for a new set of irons as a graduation present to myself. Yesterday, it turned out my time table got moved up a bit as I broke my 6 iron in half on the 9th hole! It wasn't a particularly fat shot, in fact if anything it was thin. The shaft broke in the upper 1/3rd of the club. I'm thinking its probably because they're POS walter hagens, but I'm also thinking I might need to upgrade to a stiff shaft. According to all the various tables for determining this stuff, I'm right on the line. I can usually hit my 6 and sometimes my 7 150 yds. My drives usually are spot on 250 depending on my contact. I am a lefty, and consistently have some right to left movement/slice in my ball flight, any chance this could be due to a weak shaft? There is definately some work to be done on my swing, but sometimes I feel like I'm swinging a wet noodle (especially with my driver). I also seem to have a big gap in my irons. PW 9 and 8 all go between 90-110 yds, and then my 7 is usually 140, again I think this may be due to the quality(lack of) of my clubs. Any thoughts? I am going to get fitted and all that, but wanted to get some advice before I talk to someone selling something. Also, any reccomendations on models? I'm trying to stick under 400 if I can, and I know there are plenty of good clubs in that price range. Does anyone have any experience with pinemeadowgolf.com's irons? They seem to get good reviews but I'm not trying to get another cheap set that will break in a year. Thanks, -Dave
