  1. Boulder Creek: Great track...it'll be outstanding in another 2 years. It's a little "new" still Blue Heron: Hard for the sake of being hard...not a fun course if you ask me.
  2. Couple of quick points... #1 - Nobody is making you spend $250 on a putter. If you don't want to, don't. #2 - The putter is used 2X as much as any other club in your bag during EVERY round of golf. Spending $400 on a driver and balking at $250 for a putter is laughable. #3 - Putters are 90% confidence. If you feel that one putter is better than another one, use it. No matter what it costs. #4 - (And this one is important.) PUTT WITH WHAT YOU LIKE! The putter is the one club that has remained pretty much the same since the inception of golf. I play regularly with a T.P. Mills Handmade that was made in 1962...and I can putt your lights out with it. (A putter that cost $200 in 1962...talk about expensive!)
  3. Rules AREN'T rules when it comes to Augusta. They can do whatever they want... It's a bummer, it's be good TV, and certainly help attract a 'younger' crowd. I have a feeling this isn't his last year playing, so there is always next year. ;)
  4. $3K for that kind of instruction isn't bad at all...
  5. People the buy those covers, only to turn around 5min later to sell them for hundreds of dollars in profit make me sick. That's not what it's 'all about' for me...maybe for them...o-well. I didn't even buy one. Not that I didn't think it was cool...just wasn't my cup-o-tea. I AM using a Hula-Girl headcover this year. I think they are pretty sweet. BTW: It was 35K for that putter...but it was about as rare a putter as there is.
  6. I can speak to his putter with some authority. Scotty Cameron GSS Newport 2. He's had the same putter since 2001 now. Scotty makes him a couple of 'back-up' putters every year, but he's been using the same one for a while now. He's been using a Scotty of one kind or another since 94. Recently in an article, he said that he's seen and felt other nice putters, but when push comes to shove, he can count on that putter, so they'll never get it out of his bag. Another interesting tid-bit. He's still using a Ping grip too. So he's got a Nike Contract, Titleist putter, and a Ping grip on it. The ONLY reason that you can have that combo is that it's working for you. ;)
  7. Er...no. Rory was using a Prototype Scotty Cameron. The "C5" as it's now known. http://www.theartofputters.com/index...id=27&Itemid;=2
  8. I usually do it...but that's just so I can get access to the other stuff that they sell 'exclusively' or otherwise to the CC members. I'll bet in a year, the backpack will fetch $150.
  9. I was submitting a putter to have TCC (The Cameron Collector) stamped on it and saw that....pretty funny.
  10. I'm asking 'Santa' for a new set of wedges this year. I REALLY dig the Titleist Vokeys, but want to understand better what the different 'bounce' settings are about. I'm a high-handicapper in Ohio, so I don't get to play year round. My plan is the spend the winter at the indoor golf-dome working on my short game. I'll be replacing the Callaway X-18 wedges I have now. (P,A,S,L) I'm thinking I'll get a 48, 52, 56, 60, in Oil Can, but that's about as far as I can take it on my own. Can I get some suggestions on the bounce I should be going for? I'm also clueless on the differences between the model numbers. Any help is greatly appreciated.
  11. Can you post a pic? Many people (myself included) will leave wedges outside in the rain for a few weeks before playing them so they get nice and rusty.
  12. Isn't the whole point of the rough metal wedges TO get them rusty? You'll get 2X the spin with a rusty wedge that you will with a chrome one.
  13. I try to play MOST every one of mine at LEAST once. If you are careful, and keep the ball clean, there's nothing to worry about. Especially with the Pro-plat finish...it's damn-near indestructible! Great article! ;)
  14. That's a pretty good story...glad I read that.
  15. Here's one for you... Is there a training aid that you can think of that'll improve our game while those of us in the colder climates have to hibernate? -Doug Hardman
