  1. Dare we ask what kind of performing you will be doing?
  2. Thanks everyone for your replies so far. I look forward to more. I also forgot to add an option of "Makes No Difference". I'm in this group. Either the weekend or a weekday doesn't bother me. My wife on the other hand prefers weekday so golf isn't cutting into "our" together time. I played in a scramble this year that had 144 people or more. I know there was a team of 3 and a team of 5 and then a couple teams that showed up that had previously said they wouldn't make it so it's hard telling really how many teams there were. I know it was busy and a long day. Thanks for that tip about starting on 1, 17, and 18 for small groups. If I can even get this tournament off the ground I'm not sure how many people I will attract. I hope for 144 but I'd be happy with 100. I think 144 would be a lot for the first year. Maybe even too many for me to handle.
  3. I usually carry 12-18. Well I start with that many. It's hard telling how many I end with. Sometimes that number is half or double depending on how the round goes and how many I find on the course. I try to start with about a dozen new balls still in their sleeves and then I have about a half dozen or more from the round(s) before.
  4. If you were to play in a golf outing, most likely a 4 "man" scrammble, which of the poll options would you prefer the tournament be set up. Weekday Morning Tee Times Weekday Morning Shotgun Start Weekend Morning Tee Times Weekend Morning Shotgun Start Would any of the options keep you from playing?
  5. I seen that too. I'll agree.
  6. Am I missing something? How do they know Obama will win? Did McCain drop out and I just haven't heard? I'd have to hear his exact comment to decide but I don't see how his response was racist. Or are you talking about the original question being racist? I'd say the original question is a little on the racist side.
  7. I'm not even sure that most of my family votes Democrat. I know for sure that my grandma always voted Republican. I was related to a former State Speaker of the House. His name was Vern Riffe. He is the longest serving Speaker of the House in Ohio. He served as Speaker for 20 years. He was from Portsmouth (Southern Ohio). When you enter Scioto County there's a sign that says "Welcome to Vern Riffe Country". Sadly he passed away before I could meet him. He snuck out of my grandpa's funeral too fast and I wasn't able to talk to him. Since I was only 15 when he passed I had to rely on my parents to take me places and our schedules never worked out.
  8. That's interesting. I'm not sure if they can vote in Ohio or not. Looking at the voter registration you can't vote if you are incarcerated for a felony but it doesn't say anything about being out and being a felon. I just talked with my county board of elections and found out that I'm not listed. I voted back in 2004 but have since moved out of the county. I don't remember being asked if I wanted to register to vote at the BMV. So I have to re-register. I sure hope they get things worked out this year. In 2004 I stood in line for 2 hours waiting to vote. That's a little crazy if you ask me. Something this easy should not take that long. Do you think I'd be kicked out of my family if I vote Republican since I'm related to a former Speaker of the House that was Democrat?
  9. The most I've ever drank on the course was 2. That was earlier this year. I just don't see how being drunk on the golf course is worth it. I work to hard to make the money to pay for the round to drink too much and not get to enjoy the time. Most of the time I play I have a jug of water and a couple of Gatorades.
  10. It's not just kids that do this. Have you ever been in a business meeting trying to "teach" "adults" something and have them ignore you? I have. I was running a meeting and teaching some people how to use a new system and half of them were ignoring me and the other half were responding to e-mails on their blackberries. Including the head of the department. Goes right along with the quote below. Once again Julie has the answer.
  11. I'm hoping my Jackets can comeout and "win one for the gipper". We lost our President (I think that's what he was) over the winter so we've got something to play for this year. Plus we haven't had a winning team since our expansion year so it's time. Let's Go Jackets!!!! This one's for Mr. Mac.
  12. First car I bought was a 1989 Chevy S-10. I bought it for $1,300. At the time I was working at a car dealership. We got it either as a trade in or for some reason we picked it up at auction but I think we took it in as a trade. Well I had a little bit of savings ($1,100) and the last $200 was taken out of my paychecks. My favorite car. I drove it for a little over a year before I blew the motor. Wish I would have put the extra $300 into and got a used motor. I miss that truck. Growing up that was the car that I wanted. I wanted an S-10 because my cousin had one. I also wanted it because it was a 5-speed and noone else in my house could drive one. That way no one ever asked to borrow my truck. After that I have owned: 1984 Chevy Camaro Z-28 (still have this one) 1992 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer Edition 2001 Ford Ranger XLT (currently driving this one) 2006 Jeep Liberty (wife's car)
  13. Just like most of the other threads you get involved in. I'm surprised this thread has stayed as "clean" as it has so far. I figured it would have gone down the drain by now.
  14. Luckily never had an infection (knock on wood). I will never do this again though. Not worth the risk. Now I might sleep in them over night here and there but never more than one night.
  15. Last time I bought something from a golf store was when I bought my new putter. The last time I was in a golf store I didn't buy anything though. It was Labor Day and my mom and wife were down at DSW looking at and buying shoes so I went over to Golfsmith to browse around. I hit the Callaway Big Bertha irons I'm planning to buy and also hit the Callaway X hot driver and the TM Burner Driver. Trying to decide which one of those I want. Leaning towards the TM Burner though. My next purchase at a golf store will be a big one. I'll hopefully get my new irons, new driver, new fairway wood, possibly a new Callaway stand bag, and a club brush. I need a new one.
