  2. Nine, boy that was hard, I guess q-school ain't that bad though, I hear it's nice, no cut, you get to play 6 rounds instead of the normal 4. Iacas that's sick, 16 ? you must work for a golf website or something

I think it's very fessible goal Everardo, Just like Ncgolfer said, work on yur putting, i would even expand that to short game, as long as you keep the ball in play, the easiest way to reduce your handicap is short game. I work at a lil nine hole muni and before shotgun tourneys(or mens and ladies nites) i usually take 20 balls and drive out and just chip, pitch and putt on the first green. Make sure yur chipping and pitching and putting with yur own balls. You want to develop feel with your short shots, so don't use the range balls when practicing your short game, use your own balls, that way when you get out on the course, you know how your balls react. I also recommend a consteint pre-shot routine if you don't have one. Keep it short the grass, Adam
  4. It is a big difference, As Dfife says the pga tour is the best tour, not just the guys tour and is there to showcase the best players on the planet...bar none. The lpga is there for women to compete with women on an equal footing, which is great, those women could spank most of us around the golf course. And about women talking the spots of men, Suzie whaley qualfied, and as i don't like to see Michelle just bein shoved in there for ratings, she is taking sponspers exemptions, which sponspers can give to anyone(there is a handicap rating, something like 0.4 or sumthing) who they feel best deserves and most use it too try and boost the ratings and thus bring in more money for their tourney...makes sense to me to bring Michelle or Annika in and the tournement ratings go thru the roof. Final note....Van de Velde is a doofus..it would be fun to see him blow up on the 72nd hole of the women's open tho

I think it usually happens that when I'm playing with people who are a little bit higher handicapped than myself, it's usually a bit more relaxed attitude, and in some cases that may help my scores, but most of the time I'm not concentrating enough to string 9-18 solid holes in a row, usually it's more of the dbl-dbl-birdie-par-par-par-birdie-bogey-triple kinda rounds. I usually play with better players tho and it doesn't matter to me if they're a 2 and I'm a 9 I wanna beat them. Me and another junior(We are the top two ranked in the city) and he's a 1-2 and I'm around a 9-10 and we usually play straight up, no strokes given, it usually means that I have to rise to the challenge, and while I'm not consteint enough yet to compete with him all the time but i do beat him every few times. We usually only play a quarter or 50 cents a whole so it's big stakes, and the pride of winning means more to us than most of the wagers.
  7. I play a 2h and a 3h callaway heavenwood, and then 4-pw in irons. I tried out most everything else before settling on these, I love how easy they are too hit, and how i can hit them out of all junk.

  14. Hensby is a doofus, he won the john deere classic, big friggen deal, and now he has an opionion on everything and a forum to voice it, he isn't winning so he's gotta keep his name in the news somehow.
  15. Maybe this has something to do with what Tiger was always talking about-learning to win at all levels before he moved on. Michelle seems to have went from the womb to the lpga tour and is suffering her growing lumps there, I don't really consider it choking, it's getting experience in these pressure situations and learning how to handle them. The ol' adage " You gotta learn to lose, before you can learn to Win".

I'm not saying don't judge her completely, but just don't label her a choker, choke artist, master in the art of falling on her face, just quite yet, She has had to grow up in the spotlight under extreme criticimize and I think she is handling it very well, So here's to talking bout pro's and the game they play.

    That's life, I spend my summer's up in northern manitoba (Canada) and we have snow in july, august, you just gotta get in as much as you can when it's nice.

  20. I don't know about other golfers, but i work on all of my swing, but I try and work on these things the most, Get the club in the slot, impact and then releasing the heck out of it.

I think this whole thing ain't about spinning the ball back, it's flying your irons to the green and stoping them on the green, for those of us who don't play links courses this is important because it's very tricky running the ball up on most american "non-links" style courses. It's not just the ball you use(even though it's an important factor) it's about how you hit the ball. Next time you are on the range put a tee a cpl inches outside the ball, parellel with the back of the ball, this will help you determine the spot were you are entering the ball, you need to then tweak so that the spot where you enter the back of the ball and the spot you hit the ground are the same. So you hit the ball first, and you hit thru and release the club (ie. right hand fully released, almost turning over the left hand thru impact) . If you hit down on the ball and hit it crisp you so should hit the ball much better, and with more spin. It's not bought hitting the ball shorter as you say, it's bout hitting it better.

  23. Can someone please explain to me what a member-member or a member-guest is all about? I hear Americans talking about them all the time and was just wondering: 1.How they work? 2.How often do you have them? 3.Don't you have any individual tournaments?
  24. They are both the best of their own genders, why can't we just leave it at, as I sit on the fence like a weinie . Kidding aside, Tiger is the best, I think u take away all the things that the genders provide (tiger's strength which leads to his distance, ability out of the rough, etc.) and you just compare their mental strengths, Annika seems to be getting in arguements bout the rules, and other things that throw of her game. Tiger is just so focused and he lives on winning, and he just has this inner strength that seems to be able to just kick it into another level when he needs it. I just don't see this in Annika, but that's probaly because she is usually steam-rolling the field and isn't really tested. I think you give the edge to tiger because as the pga tour says ' These guys are good' and it is true that every guy out there, really is.
  25. I was just wondering when people watch movies like tin cup,bagger vance, happy gilmore and other golf movies if they think about sequels or dare i say it prequels to the movie. I know caddyshack 2 was a diaster, but i think you could make a case for a sequel to tin cup. If i was in charge of making a new plot line i would have it go something like this: -After the U.S. open in which Mcavoy blows it on the 18th green, he is a tournament director's dream, he is a fan favorite and gets a few sponsper's exemptions into some tournaments were he fairs alright. -Molly has a few clients on tour, and this is kinda a side-plot, her working with her clients and her and roy decide to try and go thru qualify school. -After breezing thru the first two stages of qualfying school, roy is fairing well in the final stage when he trys to play a shot out of the woods and catchs a rock or a tree or something like that, injuring his wrist badly, The tour medical staff tells him he has done some seriuos damage and shouldn't continue to play, but in Mcavoy style he finishes the round, playing rather poorly but finishing, he plays the rest of the way but misses out on his tour card because of the injury and when he goes to seek major help he finds he has damaged his wrist badly and will need surgery(these are all just rough ideas, that could be buffered out by a real writer). After many failed attempts at surgery he is forced into retirement. -Molly and Roy turn the little driving range in salomae, into a golf centre where they work with players on the physical and mental aspects of the game until one day many years down the road, a brass young student challenges roy to hit a shot, nearly 50 years old and not having touched a club in many years, Roy lets his head get the better of him and hits one, and hits it extremely well, which sparks a return to golf and prepartations for the senior tour(or grateful nearly dead tour as Mr.Feherty likes to refer to it as) and turns 50 just before the U.S. senior open were he makes it thru qualifying and into the field, pinehurst would be a great setting with all the history between mcavoy and the 18th, i think you could work the david sims plot-line back in as well. -I figured the grill room was a good place for this, does anyone have any thoughts on this, i kno it's a pretty out there idea.
