  1. "I want to win a Callaway Big Bertha Driver" . Padraig Harrington - 7 Ernie Els - 8 Luke Donald - 7
  2. I'm skeptical because I bought mine on ebay. It wasn't from an authorized company but the guy had 100% positive feedback and almost 300 transactions. I took a chance. I registered it with the serial number on the hosel and got no errors. I wouldn't suspect anything had I not seen it with my own eyes. It looked like a 430 head next to a 460
  3. I'm stupid. I really should have taken the pic of them. I can't find any online of both models. It looked "physically" smaller.
  4. I bought the SLDR S Driver in a 14 degree and the other day at the driving range. The guy next to me had a SLDR and when we compared them - the head of my driver seemed smaller than the original SLDR he had. Would this be the silver finish making it look like that or would mine (or his) possibly be fake? He had a 10.5 degree driver and my face on my 14 is much more closed
  5. Apologies, was not aware
  6. I went to Sportcheck here in Canada on Monday and tried out 3 drivers: Callaway Xhot, Taylormade R1 and Taylormade SLDR and my swing speed averaged 103-105mph and the best club of the 3 was the R1. My average distance was 263 with an average ss of 103.3. I think the carry was 245 but I'm not 100% sure.
  7. Many feel the levels of the other players in Jack's era was lower than the levels of the competition today, in Tiger's era Many people do in fact discount many of their Stanley Cups. It's easier to be the best team out of six than out of 20+. Reply to quote 1: How do you come to this conclusion? Had their been rankings in those days, are you saying Jack was #1 and everyone #2 ??? Of course not. Nobody had an edge, with the exception of Tiger, who one would say is probably the first golfer to come in and showed the importance of fitness and conditioning. Reply to quote 2: Yes, I won't say easier as in the odds are certainly in your favor but the fact remains that they won with what they had against the competition they had. I would dare say take any team from today's era and have them play the 1946 Montreal Canadiens with the same conditioning and equipment and they would probably get beat.
  8. Until Tiger calls it a career and the numbers are official and on paper, Jack Nicklaus is the best. You can state the fact that the golfers of today are trained better, better athletes, better equipment etc... but the fact remains that everyone from Jack's era as well as everyone from Tiger's era are at the same levels for their respected periods. You can't say of Jack was better because he trained more than everybody and was coached better because the competition of those days.....let me put it this way. If you take the guys of today, give them the clubs, training and everything else that was available in 1975 and put them in 1975, how on earth can anyone say that they would be better than who Jack had to play against. A lot of these guys couldn't swing a 1 iron...but Jack could! And most others from that time too. It's not like Jack was using a 460 degree driver head and the others weren't.... My father is the all time club champion at my local golf club. He won an unprecedented 9 times. When he passed away, we decided to have a tournament in his honor to raise money for kids who couldn't afford to play local sports.Long story short, this guy comes up to my bros. and I and says "I bet your Dad won all of his championships when the golf course was only a 9 hole course, he never won when it was an 18" Though true, I let him know that whether he was on a 9 hole course or an 18, he still beat the guys he was going to beat, on the same course, with the same equipment, didn't matter how many holes the course was. (They would play the 9 hole course twice) It's like saying the Montreal Canadiens won 24 Stanley Cups. Fact is, they won most of them when the NHL only had 6 teams. So, do you say Montreal won 24 cups or they won them because....see my point?
  9. Shot a personal best and mulligan free 76 yesterday. Pretty good for a guy who's only been able to play once a week this season lol
  10. 81 Sunday with 3 birdies. 1 put off the green, hit the flag and in. I'm hardly playing this year compared to last year since I couldn't afford a membership this year (my local club has a low first year membership and then it goes up slightly for the second year but jumps big time for 3rd year so I couldn't afford it). I have to wait 4 years to be considered a new member. I've only played 4 rounds and 2 - 9 hole games this year.
  11. For this year I'm using a YES! Bella-12 in white finish. I've been practicing with it for most of the winter. Love the feel and it's very easy to align. I think I finally found THE PUTTER for me.
  12. My personal goal is to be as good as my Dad was. He won 9 club championships (the most ever at our local course), never took a lesson in his life and had a peak handicap of 5. My handicap is floating around 11 right now. My off season project is to work on my putting. I've blown many birdies and a few eagles because of 3 putts. I want to be able to make at least 6 out of 10 - 10 footers and 8/10 6 footers.
  13. I'm glad to say I met and exceeded my goals for this year. I wanted to break 80 and I did twice (78 & 79) and I also got my first eagle (never could reach the par 5's in 2 until I got a great driving tip here and a Rocketballz driver). And on top of that, it was a chip in eagle. Since then, I'm able to reach 2 of the par 5's at my local course. Got my handicap down from 12.1 to 9.9. I sold my Cobra S3 Max clubs and bought Taylormade Burner 2.0 and Cleveland cg16 black wedges (50, 56, 60). Can't wait to try them out.
  14. Right, so if I'm a 2 degree upright with the longer shafts, I would have to add maybe + 1/2 inch plus the 2 degree right? Does that make sense?
