  2. Thanks for the clarification. I find it very unnatural to rotate my hips in the manor the golf swing requires. It's something I've been consciously trying to do maybe to the detriment of some other things though (I can only think about one thing at a time lol) seem to be getting more erratic with the more I practice.
  3. Sceptical.... It does look suspiciously like a white strawberry at 0:32 though
  4. Sorry if I'm being stupid does side lilt mean that I would be leaning left or that I will be rotating more while staying relatively centred? Also the picture on the right looks less upright. My head dips to a similar angle in the downswing. does this mean my address spine position is to steep?
  5. My sister found a website with a page called MyJoys basically a nike id for foot joys, a bit more expensive but you can make some pretty slick shoes. http://www.golfbuyitonline.com/Footjoy-Myjoys-Mens.php You can make FJ icons with a shield tip on the toe that look identical to those. Can choose material colour etc. They're about £180
  6. May need to read up a bit i think I understand the fundamental rules of golf though this forum has made me feel a bit neurotic about rules lol Brass necked! When I was a young tike we would go up to the golf course and pinch the odd ball.... But don't like touching any ball now unless I'm 100% sure its mine. Or its lying in some out of bounds in some heavy vegetation. What is the ruling on touching a ball to check it is yours? say if the logo and number is obscured?
  7. Is there actually a written rule for a scenario like this where someone picks up your ball? Surely most rules are written without things like this in mind. I'd probably just go to where she roughly pointed and take a drop. Why pick up a ball in play..?
  8. Recent graduate. Currently a lifeguard, finish in two weeks to start as a graduate software developer. There seems to be an abundance of Software related employees on the forum.
  9. Not on purpose no. Being more upright is maybe happening because I've been trying to put more weight on my left leg, is that a bad thing? I've been trying to keep my back straighter but find it hard to not hunch my shoulders if i don't stick my ass as such lol. Moving my hips has been an issue just because the lateral rotation of the hips and most of the golf swing are quite foreign movements for me. Don't have best buy in britain but i'v been looking on amazon, e-buyer etc to see what cameras are available. I'll check that camera out though. Cheers. Was at the range the other day filmed this. Hit my irons pretty well even long irons. Just a bit scared of my driver lol, I've got a couple of lesson in a few weeks that my girlfriends mum and dad got me for a graduation present so hopefully get some things to work on
  10. Pictures look awesome! Had a quick read through the thread pretty good to see progression of a swing due to my limited experience. Im also pretty insecure about my swing/golf, petrified of my Driver!! lol Or he doesn't have time to practise because he's never out the gym by the looks of things.
  11. I don't think this is something that I really need to worry myself about. The likely hood of me hitting a hole in one are slim enough that I'd easily say I'd buy everyone on the forum a drink or bottle of champagne if I got a hole in one.
  12. Been trying stack and heap, and trying to swing into out initial results seem to be working. Balls are majorly straighter, even a few draws today. Look to still be swinging steeper on the down swing than back swing but not as much as before. When I get a friend or am somewhere the bays aren't in the way ill get a video up of a head on view where you can see the stack and heap setup better. One specific question is my swing a bit fast? Any opinions/criticism welcome.
  13. I've read a lot of the thread though not all. I get the impression that most who smoke weed feel that if a person does not want to participate, then its their problem and they should be the one to leave or stay away when golfing. I disagree, personally I think if you're smoking weed really it is your responsibility to smoke away from the individual(s) rather than theirs. I'm quick to ask people not to smoke next to me weed or just normal cigarettes. I don't see why I should stop talking or move from where I am because someone lights up. Weed and smoking is far less prominent in scotland especially with the law that you cannot smoke indoors in any public area or place of work.(Homes are fine) Which I think is fair. You chose to smoke others did not. As far as smoking weed goes on the course, go for it. But like many things if I was making other uncomfortable I may try to be as discrete as possible or excuse myself and respect their views. I think there is a lot of ill do as I like tough shit for you. When really people should just respect others whether they want to smoke weed or not. At the end of the day weed is illegal. Alcohol isn't. but that is really neither here nor there. I have never seen someone smoking weed on the course or in another golfing environment. Though I know guys from work who do.
  14. Know where you're coming from I always wanted to be able to squat on a swiss ball. Muscle up is like a pull up with a dip thrown in, yeah? I'd imagine your stabilising muscles will be nails once you're powering through these.
  15. Are one legged squats really the best exercise to help with balance related to ankle or foot roll? Obviously works you ankle, but most of the balance in a one legged squat is likely to come from the hips. Are you incorporating any other balance related exercises?
