  1. Thanks much, I needed a good laugh. Re-read your post and try to be objective. I'm sure you would find it just a smidge amusing. That paragraph almost had as many "ifs" as the Redskins would have needed to make the 1940 NFL Championship a game.
  2. Rory, and as mentioned before, the experience of winning across the pond before holds merit. I like his game. Fowler certainly has a bright and successful future.
  3. Notice to users: use Thigpen and Belinda in post directed at Erik to lose rep points fast.
  4. What a difference a year makes. Last year the Steelers don't give up 22 points in the 4th quarter - I don't think they gave up that many points in all 4th quarters combined . Onside kick against the Pack just goes to show they have absolutely zero faith in their defense. At least Mike Wallace can make a clutch catch with a difficulty rating of 10, compared to Yancey Thigpen who gave the Pack a gift in '95.
  5. There are stipulations for the max number to post on a given hole relative to par, and it is based on your handicap. This prevents an oddball quad or quintuple bogey ruining your round. You still shot an 85, but the actual score you would post for handicapping purposes would be lower.
  6. Short and sweet for me. Drop my handicap below 5.
  7. Vague rule to me. I have never tapped on my marker with my putter, ever. If you have to do that then your marker is either in the way of another players putt, in which case it should be moved to either side anyway, or it could move based on a wind gust(?) So you don't incur a penalty by tapping on the marker with your putter and it moves, even though you have already marked your ball and picked it up, hence finishing the actual act of marking your ball. But accidently moving it with your foot you do incur a penalty. To me in either case once you mark it and pick up the ball, the act is over. I have witnessed plenty of times when a player tapped on his marker with his putter and it flew up in the air and rested in another spot. They always moved it back, and I knew it wasn't a penalty, but I never agreed with it. But whether or not I agree with it doesn't matter.
  8. I have too, and it's my opinion that they are people who are jealous of his skill, successes, and seemingly larger than life persona. I see him as a man with extraordinary talent and work ethic, but at the end of the day he is a human being who puts his pants on just like Joe Schmo down the street. People who cheer for his demise have a problem keeping things in perspective (related to their own insecurities), or so I think. Then again, I'm incredibly jealous of his skills...
  9. So? She's looking out for herself. Life has to go on, and for all we know the writing may have been on the wall for quite some time and she's come to grips with it sooner than later. Who knows.
  10. Currently reading The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich by William Shirer.
  11. I have absolutely no problem with the voting results. The only thing the last three weeks has done is make the vote closer.
  12. I have a heavy 12x10 carpet I hang from the basement ceiling. I pummel balls into it whenever I feel the need.
  13. I've found over the years that regardless of the what type of club I was using (blade or CB) if i didn't make a good pass at the ball, I didn't like the results. I suppose in some instances the CB made the "mistake" less punishing but it was still a mistake.
  14. It's what is called individuality. What's good for one is not necessarily good for another, therefore they have the freedom to play what they want (not intending to sound snide ). I played CB for years and switched to blades before season 2009 started, and I can't imagine going back any time soon. My handicap dropped from '08, with basically the same amount of rounds played. I did get a series of lessons, but it had to do with a swing flaw rather than an impact zone or ball striking issue. I will say that my 3-5 irons were CB, but I am switching to blades in those irons this off-season. So, do I think blades are "really" the King of the Hill? That answer is dependent solely on a persons abilities, preference, and confidence to use them.
  15. I have 16, in which I won't name them all. The five I have played the most over the last few years: Scotty Cameron Fastback 33" Yes! Nicky 33" Yes! Sophia 33" Odyssey 2-Ball Blade 34" Odyssey White Hot #9 33"

  17. Can't add anything that hasn't been covered above. However, if you were smart, you would walk behind the line as soon as the ball of your competitor was struck to get the break.
  18. Can't argue with getting lessons. Had a bad case of the pulls at a point over the summer and a 15 minute session had me corrected for the rest of the year. I needed the sensation of brushing my thighs on the downswing with my hands.
  19. Although I'm not as big a spender as someone earlier in this thread , I did spend a fair amount on lessons this year as well. Got to hone in the swing first to take care of the new equipment later.
  20. Poker player, military historian, and coaching my kids in various sports.
  21. I always hate going with the majority, but I'll go 2 on BAY HILL. He's got to get competitive before Augusta.
  22. I also believe it was allowed under that format, but have no means for clarification.
  23. I just had a sense about Penn. The only way Diego was going to win was on the ground, and Penn isn't that easy to take down. Penn is great with his legs both in striking and with his defense and balance, which was incredible last night.
  24. Always liked Diego Sanchez, but knew he had no shot against Penn, who is one of the best ever. Just simply outclassed in every sense of the word. Had a hunch Florian was an easy pick as Guida is just a high revving engine without the matching skill set. Somewhat surprised by Mir's easy victory, but he also has serious skills that should never be underestimated.
  25. I tend to think it's because he has 70 tour wins including 14 majors and the US and Junior Amateurs, not to mention he's won all over the world, all since he was a teenager. But that may just be my lack of intellectual capacity, you never know.
