  1. If anyone was watching Golf Central after the Sony, they played an interview with Boo. He expressed his humility towards his fans. It was quite impressive just how down to earth this guy truly is (Rocco, in my opinion, is a snob compared to him). He also expressed how he truly felt about being on tour. It almost seemed as if he could take or leave golf, taking what most of us would kill for for granted. Any thoughts? I know that if I were in his shoes I would play until my arms fell off. I like Boo alot, but from what I saw in the interview, he should really consider what his future is on tour. Don't wait to see if the checks come, decide whether or not you are right for golf (or if golf is right for him). I recently read Feinstein's Tales from Q School. From the sound of it, I bet there are alot of guys wishing he would pack it up and leave a spot open for the guys struggling to make it onto tour.
  2. Water most days. When I'm out with my buddies (generally once a week in the summer) it's Coor's light until the turn, then back to water with a Boo Weekley special tucked in my cheek. Just don't tell the g/f.
  3. Unfortunately I was 11 at the time, and had little interest in the game. When it happened my parents were devastated. It sounds like he would be a great role model for a young golfer trying to further his appreciation for the game.
  4. I would enjoy the channel alot more if it was more about TALKING golf rather than SELLING golf. Medicus, Sky Caddy, Bobby Jones Hybrids, Total Gym?? Please, replays of old tournaments and exciting majors is in order for the Golf Channel to improve it's ratings. That being said, Highway 18 should be a fun series to watch.
  5. Nick and Kelly sure are the rebellious pair... Get over it FCC. Athletes are taped every night dropping much worse than that.
  6. You have to look at the country in general. Golf is not a huge cash cow sport. Tiger is the face of golf for this country, but it's not only because he's the best of our time. He's a great face for the camera. The general public doesn't care about golf, they care about Tiger. The general public doesn't care about soccer, they care about Beckham. Enjoy the game, don't get caught up on what the masses think.
  7. Baddeley is one of the best putters on tour. He lost it for himself by missing some towards the end. Did anyone else notice Tiger removing his hat before the putt even sank? Kind of like him approaching the hole before it sunk against Holmes - a little cocky? I call it confident.
  8. Agreed. There has been way to much golf played this week. Tiger will take it easy until the older, less in shape Cink starts to lose it on the back.
  9. I love an Ashton. Nice and mild and cheap. I have to be in the mood though. I'll go for a pinch on the course any day though...
  10. Well now he definitely did not say he was disappointed. He simply mentioned that he putted terribly. Personally it excites the crap out of me to hear him say that. -7 could quickly turn into -14 no problem.
  11. I'm personally a little disappointed. Tiger played well. He could have played much better. Off the tee box he improved from last week. However, he was no where near his putting from the Buick. He mentioned that in his interview. Hopefully he'll put everything together soon and we can see what "Tiger's Year" is going to look like at full potential.
  12. Tiger is scary good. Seeing him in person is a must for any golf fan. I saw him eagle #5 at the Western Open a few years ago. It was one of the coolest things I've experienced (I think he ended up like -20). It's pretty hard to compare the two golfers. Jack did his thing in a time when golf clubs were primitive and courses were short. Tiger has top-tech equipment, but has to send the ball a mile. I feel that there are two very different approaches to golf in this respect. Then again, I suck. Tiger will pass Jack, pass Snead and become the greatest thing golf has ever seen.
