  1. Played Mountain falls golf course in Pahrump,NV yesterday (not as windy as my last post from Mountain Falls) This little guy was crossing the fairway. Anybody know what kind of snake this is ?
  2. This little Gem in Pharump,NV is always worth the drive for us locals in Las Vegas who know about how nice this course is for ridiculously cheap.. Today was pretty windy throughout the day, at one point we waited a few minutes for the huge cloud of dust to pass so we could see the green. Moutain Falls Golf Club #9 (Two Greens are on this hole due to originally being a 9 hole course.) Mini Dust Storm
  3. pictures please!
  4. I didn't think this thread all the way through, this might make enemies among one another.
  5. Thanks. I'm a stage manager for a live Magic show and stand up comedy show
  6. Do you ever get to Golf for free ? For example:The job pays for it, you know someone, or you're on a team..... I sure do love free Golf, it doesn't come too often, but when it does it sure is awesome.Working in the entertainment business has certainly been beneficial sometimes to helping me play without having to pay green fees. I get to play in the morning because I comped someone tickets to my show and bought them a round of drinks. Golfnow used to help with getting free golf but that's changed in the last two years with the new rewards program. I always try to spend more on food and drinks and tip better than usual if I do get comped for golf, it's only fair. Anyhow, If I could golf for free everyday of my life, I'd sell my soul for pennies on the dollar, just saying.
  7. I was invited to play The Las Vegas Country Club today. Its a nice relaxing fun course. Reminds me a lot like Spanish Trails that is also located in LV. This is a cool hole because you hit towards the Westgate (formerly the Hilton) as the Backdrop for this Par 3. It gives a cool visual effect when watching your ball flight
  8. That's like saying it is perfectly ok to walk into a store and take four bites out of a sandwich and leave without paying for it.
  9. Pauite is not that bad of a drive compared to mesquite, and usually its in better condition than most public courses in town due to having their own water rights. Pauite consist of 3 courses, I've played Snow and Sun Mountain a few times. Have yet to play wolf course which boast being the Longest course in Nevada (7,604 yrds) and a really cool island green par 3. I'd say Snow is the easier of the three. Still be sure to have the beginners play from a tee box that isn't going to make the day too frustrating. The beauty is there's no houses for miles to hit. Here's that par 3 of the Pauite Wolf Course. I really need to go play it soon to complete the trifecta :)
  10. I had the chance to play Bali Hai for free thanks to my boss. It isn't one of the best courses out here and there are quite a few negatives, but it certainly isn't a dump. Again, it's really close to the strip and if you don't have a rental and venture too far off the path you'll be paying a lot of money to a taxi driver instead of paying towards golf. Same goes for Dessert Pines and National that are extremely closer than most courses. In my opinion National is more for the experience of playing a older course that pros once played (Tiger for example) and were the parts of the movie Casino was filmed. The bar is a cool place that strip performers such as Dean Martin and Sinatra frequented. To go there with expectation that you're playing a pristine course is a bit far fetched. Now that they are one of the few courses in the Nation to offer the GolfBoard is a pretty cool thing to try out as well, I think it's well worth the extra 20 bucks.
  11. I strolled facebook on my phone this morning and this post said I won the three wood give away. Can't wait to take it out on the course :) This will be my first new club ever, I only have used hand me downs in my bag lol
  12. Bummer, maybe paying for my golf is cheaper if I sneak your threesome on at the local rate since I live here :) . Seriously though, if you drive a rental not a taxi and pay cash for your green fees they hardly ever check. I've literally paid almost 40-100 less on some courses just for being a resident on golfnow or calling the course. It's kind of messed up how they screw the tourist that come to play. With that said, I promise us locals get no special discount for Shadow Creek :( we gotta pay 500 bones like everyone else.
  13. Coyote Springs is in the middle of no where, its just you and the course. really crazy undulating greens. Well worth the drive. Have not had the chance to play wolf creek. It is very high on the list to play. If you know any locals its so much cheaper compared to tourist rate.
  14. If you do be sure to rent a GolfBoard http://thesandtrap.com/t/79653/first-time-golfing-on-the-golfboard
  15. I played both TPC Las Vegas and A.P mountain course lasy week and without a doubt Angel Parks rolled extremely faster. Probably some of the fastest I've played in awhile. No joke Hate, Hate , Hate Badlands...kicks my ass every time. Great course to bet money if you know the course vs a first timer. National isn't in the best shape but very close to the strip and a course with a lot of history. Tiger Woods won his 1st PGA tournament ever there. Bali Hai is nice, but for 200 more Shadow Creek blows every course out of the water in my opinion. Truly have to see it to believe it. Insane its in the middle of North Las Vegas

  17. Really well that never seemed to be a issue.
  18. Then you would really like it. All the steering is from shifting your weight like a skateboard/surfboard.
  19. [/IMG]Today I got the chance to ride the golfboard @National G.C in Las Vegas,NV for 9 holes (had to go to work) 9 holes took about 3 hours due to being a full comp day for casino hospitality industry. Anyhow, I didn't plan on riding the board but the course were running out of carts and the board was free ($15 for 9 or $20 for 18 holes) National claims to be the only course in the nation to be renting the golfboard. You have to watch a really boring video, then show the cart guy you can ride one, at first I thought it was hokey but actually came to really enjoy the experience. The only rule was no riding directly on the greens or in. the T box. It would Really shaves off a lot of time under normal course pace of play. The only thing is you are a tall standing lame duck if a ball comes your way lol. I recommend trying it out if you're here in Vegas
  20. Today I took my clubs in to have new grips put on. With the new set of grips I got from my friend and only two bucks a club at GoLow Golf in Las Vegas (indoor driving range) I thought it was a steal. Golf Galaxy charges $3.50 a grip! I'm not the superstitious type, but I couldn't bring myself to change the P-wedge grip that gifted me with the ace just yet. I really don't want to piss the golf gods off. I figured it would be a bad gesture lol
  21. My Facebook friend said I completed 1 out of 3 of lifes achievements. The other two are bowling 300 and pocketing the 8-ball on the break.
  22. Thanks Everyone. Yes, Thankfully there was only one other person playing with me. It was a round of tasty bloody Mary's and a celebratory burning of the sacred plant. It didn't even occur to me to save the ball until my playing partner said to save it. It was a dirty Maxfli water ball that I pulled out of my pocket to save from losing the titliest nxt I was using lol. Its still a little surreal. I've never even seen a ace until yesterday, I'd always ask strangers I play with if they'd got them and their stories are always so cool if they indeed get a hole in one. It just feels good to own that little piece of rare luck.
  23. Its a really short hole for sure, it's a water carry with bunkers on the back side. From the tips the course plays 6339 with a 69.8/121
