  1. Here it is less, than 48 hours after the snow stopped and it's pretty much all gone, already. At least here on the beach anyway. Mike
  2. That's a great one. I've heard many people say "if you don't like the weather here, just wait a few minutes, it'll change" Mike
  3. I think it looks great. How much are you supposed to get in Pinehurst? I live on the beach in NC and it's snowing pretty good right now, but we are only supposed to get 3 maybe 4 inches at most. Mike
  4. I think the "7 of 50" you see is your place in our club/group. I could be wrong, I'm still learning this myself. Mike
  5. Well, the first round is over. I didn't do as well as I had hoped, something like 24 points if I added it correctly. How did ya'll do? None of the pre-round info I read said that Vijay was playing injured. Did any of you here about that before today? Maybe I'm just not researching enough. Mike
  6. Why not. Might as well give it a try. I'm in. letsgofish1@yahoo.com Mike
  7. I would say I used to be a fox because I would get stressed out on the course and bad luck/breaks/bounces would cause my game to fall apart. Right now I'm trying to be more like a turtle, playing it safe and laying up when ever possible. Keeping the ball in the fairway is more important to me than making a spectacular shot right now. Mike
  8. I just continue to play as much as I can during the winter. Playing in cold and windy conditions is how I started playing the game. I can promise you this though, I will NOT play in the rain this winter as I did last year. MIke
  9. When my driver fails, I used to leave it in the bag and go to my 3 iron. Now I try to work it out on the course. I've gotten better at working it out on the course. Mike
  10. There are two shots from yesterday I would like to mention. First was my tee shot on 17, a par 4, 358 yard hole. I nailed it, probably my best drive of the year. That shot left me about 60 yards to the hole. So, I pull out my pitching wedge and knock it to within two feet of the hole. Tap in for birdie, my second ever. YAY!!! Mike
  11. I see what your sayin'. It's just that my last few rounds have filled with "worst holes". I'll look for the "best shot of the week" thread you mentioned. Mike
  12. Nope, listed prices in the U.S. generally do not include sales tax. Mike
  13. I think we should talk about the best hole of the round. I've been told that I should try to keep positive thoughts in my head. What do you think? Mike
  14. My goals are; Lower handicap to 20 or better Take some lessons to help develop a more consistent swing Work on my course management Don't get so angry after one bad shot Mike
  15. Yes I'm having the feeling right now. About half way though my second round yesterday, all of a sudden, everything I've read about the proper swing made sense in my head. I hit my drivers and irons farther and straighter than I ever have before. Had I not been playing best ball with a few friends, I believe my score would have dropped considerably on the back nine. Like you said, power from the torso and speed from the wrists, not everything from the arms The big test will be tomorrow, when I play another round to see if I can repeat this swing. Mike
