  1. I want to talk about the section with Paddy Harrington and how he rebuilt his preshot routine so it could stand the pressure of a Major Championship. In Your 15th Club I believe, near the end of the book? This book helped me and my game an enormus amount, a bulletproof pre-shot routine is so underrated. Every movement before a shot should be already mapped out. Tour pros own their preshot routines, just like Paddy does now, he knows exactly what he is going to do on everyshot. They know how many steps there going to take to address the ball, when they take their practice swing, and most importantly when they are going to be hitting the ball. I am working on my own preshot routine, challenging myself to have it down so it can hold up under any pressure. I write it down on paper, reading it, then performing it. It really helps a lot, because when I am doing it, and I get distracted, this tells me wires are getting crossed in my head and I need to simplify it even more. It is a work in progress, and I have to continue to improve it over the winter.
  2. He is saying only focus on what you want, do not waste any of your focus on an element you DON'T want. It makes a lot of since to me. Ignorance is bliss.

    Pre-Shot routine

Great comment "really chaps my arse" I laughed. Hackers will be hackers I guess.
  4. Didn't know you guys cared that much. Sorry for pushing your buttons. Clubs are just slabs of metal you hit the ball with anyway.
  5. Play it as it lies.
  6. Without a doubt in my mind its your grip. Heres what I would say - Go to the range, start with the strongest grip you can manage, hit a few, then from there weaken the grip til you get a ball flight you want Once you hit a few you will naturally align yourself correctly.
  7. There are two things to align: 1 Feet 2 Clubface Aim your clubface at the target and your feet for your ball flight. I will explain a right hander playing a draw, with the target being a tree on the right side of the fairway. The feet need to be aligned pointing directly in line with the target (the tree) with the clubface pointed straight down the fairway. From there take your swing and a draw will be produced. For a Fade, aim feet left of fairway and point clubface down the fairway. If you want to hit it straight - aim feet straight with clubface straight...pretty plain and simple
  8. Hybrids are a joke.
  9. Hockey is by far the hardest sport. It takes so much coordination to play the game. So many skills are involved, you just cant process the game fast enough while playing it seems.
  10. You said you have a fade, this leads me to believe that your grip is weak. change your grip if you want to straighten it out or draw it. (I hope you know what I mean, Im not making fun of you) From the fade you are losing distance compared to a straight shot or a draw guarenteed. As for your current setup taking monster divots, you must be coming down awfully steep to the ball. Think about your ball position on a driver, theres no way that you can take a divot with the driver, try to move the ball forward in your stance and see if this gives you the results you are looking for.
  11. The Crosby show will be holding the cup come June. You heard it here first.
  12. Don't bend your clubs. Buy new ones if you want a different lie or loft. Clubs are made for a certain loft and lie for a reason, it only weakens the metal if you start messing around with them.
  13. Ball flight doesn't lie, just keep that in mind.
  14. Congrads! Shooting a personal best is always a good feeling! You feel on top of the world!

    Pre-Shot routine

Thank you! I think you have too many steps in yours, tighten it up! When I perform my preshot routine exceptionally well in a round, the swing just becomes another part of it, it feels the same as picking my target or taking my practice swing or etc.... the swing is just one more step in completing the routine. Does anyone else feel this way?
  16. Driving - 9 Approach - 7 Short Game - 9.5 Putting - 7.5 Sand - 6 Course Management - 7
  17. I believe this is one of the most important things while playing the game. I now want to walk through my own, please feel free to share your own! Once I have a club in hand, I will stand behind the ball pick my target. Take 3 steps, set up, look at target, take practice swing. Address the ball, get clubface in correct position for target, take one last look at target, let it go. To summarize: Stand behind ball, choose target. Take practice swing as thought it was the real shot, then address the ball. Look at target, swing.
  18. Ordered a Newport 2 a while ago, its not in yet tho. Ended up paying $170 CAD for the thing. Its taking foreverrr to get in, a lefty 34 inch...not very popular!
  19. If the players cant get off the tee make them club down hardcore hit like 5 iron off the tee if they have to and pretty much always make yourself hit the second shot if possible
  20. Well I dont really have full season stats, but I can comment on a 72 hole tourney I played last season: Total GIRs: 52/72 = 69.4% Putts: 135 Score: 298 Per Round GIR: 12.5/18 Putts:33.75 Score: 74.5 Seems like putting needs work....a lot of work sorry about the mid hcp, I got too caught up in reading all the posts I wanted to participate

I have improved a lot and now I am ready to play in big events. I want to persue playing golf in the USA, maybe a masters program would suit me. As far as D1, D2 it really doesn't matter I just want to play. Some links or stories and feedback would be very helpful!
