1. I could see introducing this to my wife as a possibility. Hey, if it gets her to make contact with the golf ball 2out of 10 times then it is way better than what she does now. I think if it helps her make contact then it will make playing that much more enjoyable. Lets face it, her, like most people are out on the course to have fun, not be the next Tiger Woods. With that being said, I think this swing is rediculous for me, but maybe not others. :)
2. What is the micro move? The right elbow?
3. I can't speak for Ricks pro since I have never used him. Rick is expensive but he is very knowledgeable. I would suggest being fairly fundamentally sound in your swing before you go. My first lesson with him didn't make it past the takeaway. He will only work one thing at a time with you. If it were me I would try his assistant first.
4. Thanks guys. Some of the guys I had were trying to train me on their swing as opposed to my own. When I questioned one of them they got irritated. Knowing what I know now, I will approach my next lesson with a little more confidence and purpose, and probably go to a PGA Pro.
5. Yes h
Rick Grayson at river cut in Springfield mo? If so I would like to pay him a visit.
Yep, that's him
6. First off, is there a difference between a "teaching professional," and a golf pro? I have taken lessons under a golf pro named (name drop) Rick Grayson :) and had good success and have had instruction under other people with no success at all! Some of the instruction I got seemed counter-intuitive. I was wondering if there is different credentials for each. No offense to teaching pros but in my experience they sucked!
7. Let me know how it goes! So far I have had no luck...
8. Ok, so maintaining the flying wedge is something in working on. I found this video on YouTube and found it informative, BUT I am confused. He shows that at impact your shoulder are open quite a bit. I was always under the assumption that your shoulders should be square to the target line at impact. Can anyone shed any light on this? Thanks!
9. This guy has the same faults I have :)
10. You should only have one swing thought. One thought works for me, the rest is just feel.
11. If you are ever in southern Missouri, Rivercut Golf Course is a beautiful muni course
12. If you can drop the club into the slot you can pretty much fire as hard as you want at the ball. Getting the club in the slot is tough if your weight shift and transition is jacked up, like me!
13. To me it feels like I should slide the hips to drop my club into the slot, THEN rotate the hips through impact. My problem is not sliding the hips which causes weight transfer, or sliding too much and losing balance.
14. Thank you mvmac
15. Leaving your shoulder turn at 90 degrees and starting your hip turn in the downswing is what gives you power, is this what they refer to as disassociation?
16. Ok, so I have been working a lot on my setup, takeaway and backswing. I can get a decent thoracic spine turn and really load up into my right side without any sway. And get a good tight glute. Everything looks good in the mirror and feels good. My BIGGEST PROBLEM is the transition into the downswing. I don't know how to start the downswing. I know they say get to the left, start from the ground up, etc. none of that helps me. I literally get loaded up into the right side and then don't know what to do. Any drills I can work on? I usuly end up firing with my arms and flipping....
17. Here comes minimalist shoes in golf....
18. In the end he did the right thing. He probably should have spoke up sooner but eventually he made it right......better late than never??
19. I agree about the price. They are a little high for this fella
20. 1. Obviously lower my handicap to maybe single digit 2. Hit it longer 3. Practice my putting and short game more 4. Play more As of last summer I lowered my handicap to a 12. I worked on accuracy and consistency and that really helped. My biggest hole in my game was my short game. Also I got to the point that I should be hitting it farther. So I am making it a point to work on distance and short game to lower my scores. Lets see what 2013 brings!
21. Got some "Callaway Hex Black Tour" for Christmas. Haven't played them yet. Wonder how they do...
