I'm just curious. Do pros usually get their swings taped during a lesson? I heard that they don't and rather simply look at their ball flight for assurance of proper swing mechanics. I just bought a camcorder, but i'm really scared to see my swing on tape.

i'm also fat and hate it. im 5 9 and 170 lbs. i need to lose about 20 lbs asap.

i like your options, but pls go try the titleist ZM forged irons. Best player irons i've tried to date and I've almost tried them all.

HELL NO. I play blades and there are sweet spot marks on all my irons. no way i want shanks or toe marks on my pretty titleist. Same goes for my driver and woods. I may let a noob hit a few putts w/ my putter, but thats it.

there isn't even one guy on tour that hits a 6-iron 225. Btw, lets say you do hit it 225, how often do you hit it straight? Anyhow, what's your swing speed?

i tried the newport 2 mid slant and ablsolutely love the feel. I may have to pick one up soon. I just bought the odyssey black series i #9 and have been putting super well with it. Its a toss up right now.

my crap tee shots are normally 240 yard hooks. Sometimes I get lucky in the trees, but most of the time i'm stuck punching out and making bogey or worse. I try to put the tee shot out of my mind by the time i reach my ball. at this point, I'm trying to scramble for par more than anything else.

I think my biggest faul is inconsistency with my driver and yipping short putts (within 5-feet). For instance, on my last round, I made 3 doubles and 3 birds. The doubles were plain dumb errors off the tee followed up by a missed short putt.

Well, when i first joined this board, i guessed that my handicap was around 8. I just recently received my official handicap and it was actually 3.9. Exactly how hard would it be to get to scratch??

Can any of you experts explain this on the takeaway? I read that this is the proper way to take the club back. I'm having a real problem of taking the club too far inside right away, which causes a flat swing. what type of drills can i use to get a more up-right takeaway? thanks!!

No Way. Longer irons will be more difficult to effectively work the ball. the driver, hybrid etc. have more face area thus making it seem easier.

interesting question. i had a set of x-forged irons fit at the callaway training center. at first, i was happy with the result, but in the end, I actually hit my irons worse. Not sure exactly why. Fast forward. I just bought new Titleist blades with s-300 DG shafts. I'm hitting these amazingly straight and longer. I'm sure fitting definitely helps pros, but i'm also sure they get fit by serious professionals. If you go to a local shop to get fit, then I wouldn't recommend it. If you can afford spending serious dough to get a professional fitter to do it, then I'd say its worth it.

i worked from home friday and played w/ some friends. it was about 98 degrees. i prolly should not have tried to walk. lesson learned. I only finished 13 holes, 4-over.

Hey guys, i actually enjoy cigars too, but have been searching for some light ones that don't cost an arm and a leg. Any suggestions? also, how bad are stogies compared to cigarettes? i actually smoke cigs while golfing cuz it calms my nerves. I would assume cigars should be a little better for u since u aren't inhaleing. That said, i know the nicotine conentration in cigars must be super potent.

If i was a pro, i'd be licking my chops right now and enter every tournament I could. Finally, others will actually have a chance to win. I think the pga wants him back out there asap since he has such a huge following for tour events.
