  1. After taking the time to actually read most of this thread, I have come to the conclusion that honesty is completely arbitrary to those who do not consider it to be of high importance. True gentlemen will play golf according to the rules and take the time to learn the rules, play by the rules they know, and be willing to incorporate rules that they newly acquire. I play golf because I enjoy it, as I became better, I learned new rules and applied them. I still learn new rules and apply them when I have a chance to. But that is just me....So with that said, let the braggarts be braggarts, the newbies enjoy learning to play, and the BS'ers gloat in their moments of internet/19th hole glory.
  2. Steelhead fishing in Erie tribs, bowling, and trap shooting
  3. Shot a 43 on Monday....The weather was horrible, 51 degrees and had rained most of the day. I was trying a new ball for me too....I lost 10 - 15 yards per club with the new ball vs the old ball. New ball Nike Ignite....old ball Nike Power Distance. Not sure how much was due to cold weather and no roll due to wet grass and soggy ground. I did putt much better though with the new ball...So far this year three out of four league nights have been poor weather!! Any ideas about the ball issue would be helpful, thanks!!
  4. That's why we in Pittsburgh like Geno so much and why the Pens hustled him out of Russia like they did!! He has so much talent and as was said earlier, he never stops! GO PENS!!
  5. Well today was the same....44 with one blow up hole. Number 2 cost me a seven but I generally played well again. I just need to focus on every hole.
  6. Last two rounds were 44 and 43 respectively. Both rounds I had one hole that blew it for me. The last round I was sitting on 36 going into hole 9, pulled tee shot into the right trees, up against tree base for second shot, punched it out, flopped 4th onto the green, rolled back off and three putted.....nice hole, but really a good round overall. We will see what happens today. GO PENS!!!

    Mulligans

I stopped playing Mulligans about 12 years ago. I figured I wouldn't get much better if I pretended to play golf. My pet peeve about Mulligans is when people take them, don't count the stroke and then say they shot x amount of strokes less than they actually did. Let me add that when I am playing by myself and the course is S-L-O-W....I will play more than one ball, but I do play the first ball I hit off the tee as is if I were in a match and I do count the score.
  8. Lundquist played a great game. The Pens didn't play too well, but they had their scoring chances, including a penalty shot and Lundquist just shut them down. I'm a huge Pens fan but you have to compliment a goalie when he comes up big. GO PENS!!
  9. My best shot was not my ace, although that was sweet. My best shot was on a par 5. I was in the right fairway trap about 214 out to a severely elevated green. I figurered I would try and hit a 3 wood out because that is what I would normally hit from that distance to this particular green. I really didn't think I would make a good shot but it was AWESOME!! I picked it cleanly and put it 20ft from the hole and sank the eagle!!
  10. My favorite part of the game is just being out in a quiet area enjoying the game itself. My least favorite is fixing ball marks for the inconsiderate people who screw up the course.
  11. But the really important question is can it get you from point B back to point A?
  12. Can't really compare the two that much. Technology has changed, physical training has changed dramatically, and there wasn't much being done along the lines of sports psychology in Jack's time. Just like any other sport, hard to compare athletes of different eras.
  13. Well I have several vehicles depending on my mood. Cavallier for work, (saving gas for golf money), a Jeep Grand Cherokee to make the wifey feel safe, a Windstar for when I'm hauling the entire gang, (4 kids) and a Harley for when I'm feeling stressed and feel the need for freedom!!
