  1. www.crossfit.com This is an entire form of exercise that is simply characterized by one thing. The one thing being broad based exercises as opposed to very specific isolation. The philosophy is, do practical movements (push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups, etc...) that you would use in everyday life/exercise instead of getting on a machine that tends to isolate. I'm a big believer in cross fit. You will get a lot of exercises that hit your core muscles among other things. This training is used by a number of special forces and is designed to mimic the regimen of gymnasts, who are generally considered to be the fittest athletes on the planet.
  2. +13 huh, I like my odds against Tiger getting 20 shots........I think............or not.
  3. good question man. I have tried both and it's still up in the air for me. I was originally taught one-piece takeaway which delayed my wrist cock to an extreme. Now I am going the other way. It's sort of a toss up which works better for me.
  4. Interesting. I was certainly wondering where his head was down the stretch. Of course I was in class at the time so I could actually see him.
  5. Clearly you guys haven't been to Florida. For a few years, we had the Honda Classic at TPC Heron Bay which has no water and no trees. I am not exaggerating.
  6. Ok, but are you telling me the field is a lot more fit than they were in 2000? That is a very bold statement. I'm not saying it isn't true at all, but golf is a 120+ year old sport. To say that players are significantly more fit than they were just 8-9 years ago is a pretty significant statement. You could very well be right, but still a big deal.
  7. Amen. And I would add that I think while it MAY be appropriate to "judge" group c, it is not appropriate to judge group b. We all have to start somewhere.
  8. Lakewood in Point Clear is on the RTJ trail. Check out the website. www.rtjgolf.com
  9. JM says some silly things, but in all fairness, I'm sure we'd be pegged with saying a few stupid things if we were sitting in the booth and had to talk about golf for 5 hours a day. Don't forget, your media cohorts specialize in taking things out of context to make you look even more stupid.
  10. He has. But aside from Phil trimming up, do you think other guys are following this lead? This is not a rhetorical question, I'm wondering if this is really going on. Sorry, but my ADD just kicked in, remember when Gary Player said guys on Tour were using steriods or HGH? I'm sort of laughing thinking about it. Is anyone else on tour jacked like Tiger? There are some skinny dudes out there, but I don't see anyone with his strength. My buddy was right next to him on the range at Isleworth a few weeks ago and said Tiger is absolutely jacked.
  11. I pretty much agree with you. I remember Greg Norman winning PGA player of the year with 2 wins one year. If Tiger wins only 2 he is in a major slump. Keep in mind Greg was the #1 player off and on for YEARS and Tiger has won 12 more majors and who knows how many more tourneys. He is dominant, just not as much as the one super hot streak. I venture to say he will be at it again. 2 more majors this year and I bet he wins at least 1 of them.
  12. Played Spyglass in Summer of 1995 when I was 18. Greens had just been punched which was a bummer. It was a very nice experience although I was still a high school kid that didn't appreciate it then like I would now.
  13. I might be mistaken, but I thought I read or heard Tiger say somewhere that dipping his head is a tendancy of his that he tries to avoid. I will try to verify that.
  14. I personally would like to add that I think it's amazing how he finds a way to be near the top of every leaderboard even when it's clear he is nowhere near his A game.
  15. Golf is a streaky sport. Maybe he just had a hot streak back then that he might not repeat for a while. God knows injuries don't help. I'm sure Byron Nelson probably wasn't losing sleep at night that he wasn't able to beat his own winning streak. I think it's a fair question though. As far as swing goes, I like his swing now more than I did the previous two iterations. Just my opinion.
  16. I haven't read the book but it seems the point about its antiquity might help reconcile the comments. I would agree that Tiger is a better putter now than 5-6 years ago. Perhaps JM would agree. Regardless, I'd would never think of betting against Tigers putter on a Sunday. He is as clutch as they'll ever be.
  17. Definately "get in the hole." White trash all the way.
  18. Speaking of bad luck, I turned it on at 70:00 at 2-2 and Brazil scored what seemed like 2 seconds later. I promise to abstain from all future viewing.

    Albatross

Another fun fact, Wikipedia says there is such a thing as a "Condor" which is a hole in 1 on a par 5. Seriously, is that even possible and who made up such a term?

Huh? By the way, an Eagle is 2 under par, not specifically a score of 2 which you indicated.
  21. I disagree. The guy is probably just a really good athlete. What could you possibly gain from trying to call somebody out like that anyways? Jealous? I have a friend that never touched a club until he was 18. He was shooting in the 70's within a year. He was just a natural athlete, plain and simple. Guys like you and me have to work at it.
  22. Erik has some great points. I think we all agree there is nothing like hitting a really nice putt on a fast green. But boy can they bite you if you find yourself above the hole!
  23. Erik- I have a question. One problem I'm having I think is lifting my left heel off the ground during the backswing. I know Nicklaus did it, but doesn't seem too common on tour. I think this hurts me in a number of ways, but it really is brought on more frequently when I try to focus on hip turn. Ever have this problem?
  24. Sleepy Hollow in Dallas. IT was borderline impossible to get a tee in the ground.
  25. I have it won...Golf ball warmer. No kidding. Supposed to make the ball go farther. Horrible gift.
