  1. Heading down to West Palm Beach next weekend for a week and looking for some info on courses to play? PGA national is thr obvious one but what are the other top of the line public courses in the area? Thanks
  2. Full 56' , fly it about 105 and let it spin back to the jar. Butter. Money.
  3. Well I need some advice from you, I usually one putt every hole, but I'm looking for a putter that will help me avoid the occasional 2 putt. Could you help me???.......
  4. 290-300 yard slice, have trouble believing it. Also how would even measure that if you only slice it? If I slice a drive it doesn't matter how far it went its a horrible shot and there is no need to figure your distance, that sounds like something my friends do when they go play a round, I mean drink a round, more concerned with far of a drive they hit rather than the score they shot. If it ain't in the fairway who cares how far it goes. I think your post was designed to toot your own horn, and not to gain any knowledge. IMO
  5. 1. The inconsistency for one day to another 2. Group of players better than me, play my best on those days 3. Yes 4. Yes 5. Yes
  6. Need to make a St. Louis golf outing!
  7. What is 5SK teacher???
  8. You must not be playing vokey wedges. After about 2 rounds my balls has visible wear and tear from the vokey wedges
  9. Played Mo Bluffs and Incline village this weekend, fairways were puddles. But the weather wasnt so bad, now its time for those to green up !!!
  10. Planning a trip for the summer, wold like a little insight from you folks who live up there. Of course we want to play Cog Hill, but are there any other courses that might be appealing? Thanks!
  11. Yes sure are. Bummin about it too
  12. Play wentzville tons, incline village, bear creek, the bluffs, innsbrook are the better of the "local" courses!
  13. Yes, st. Charles county area.
  14. So the wrists should say set and just rock with th shoulders? I think I get too much wrist movement in my stroke and lead to inconsistency
  15. Both great post with lots ofthings to start to work on, I have been looking for one of those fat super stroke grips but have been on back order at the golf store in town. I putt indoors at home and seem to nail just about all the puts In the confines of my own home but once I get on the course it's almost like I forget everything I've worked on. Like anything in golf, it sounds like practice is all it takes!
  16. Hands definitely. I can just feel the inconstancy in my stroke, I need tips to work in developing consistency with the stroke
  17. I miss short putts as well. I have no confidence at all. When I go to I almost just figure a 3 putt...yea it's that bad
  18. I agree with the greens could have something to do with a few of the longer putts as they were hopping a lot. But most of my misses are to the high side on puts where is break. I think this is just having no confidence in my ability to read the green so i tend to give the putts more room to break then actually needed
  19. Played a round yesterday and struck the ball the best I ever have in any round. Was hitting lots of greens and sticking all my chips close but I still shot a 99 because I couldn't make a putt to save my life. Need some advice on putting....HELP!
  20. Anyone from around St. Louis that would like to get together and play some golf! Would be awesome to meet new golfin buddies!
  21. Same here, must be the hockey player competitiveness coming out in me. Love to compete so when playing alone it's much easier to stray for the competitive engaging nature of golf when played with alongside someone else. I find myself playing for speed more than for score, and that is very frustrating
  22. Personal testimony here, started playing a little under two years ago at age 20 growing up I was a hockey player year round and traveled tons with no time to take up another sport....after I quit living the NHL dream I hung up the skates and decided to take on something else, naturally golf was my choice! But what I found was the biggest reason someone would shy away from golf was the manner in which employees in the pro shop treat younger players. I've found on numerous occasions that the guys running the tee sheet/ register are flat out rude and disrespectful because of my lack of knowledge (at the time) of the game of golf since I was a newbie. Like I'm supposed to know all the ins and outs of golf before I'm allowed to step foot on a course, and I think that attitude has rubbed many the wrong way and left a sour taste in their mouth with the sport as a whole! It only takes one good or bad expierence with anything to make someone either love it or hate it!
  23. it's not so much that I'm not having fun playing golf, it's just that I find it much more enjoyable to have someone around to enjoy your successes and failures with you! When I'm alone I feel as if I get more mad at myself and tend to get down on myself more than if I was playing alongside someone who can help laugh off a bad shot or congratulate a good shot! ...oh and my tempo seems to get a little fast and out if wack when playing alone, anybody else experienced this?
  24. Does anyone else seem to 'just go through motions' when playing alone? For me it seems like when I play alone(which is always, moved away for college lost all golfing buds) I tend to cut a lot corners when it comes to rules and easily lose focus of the enjoyment of the game. I think is due to boredom just curious what you guys think! For example, when playing alone I NEVER remove the flag before putting.
  25. Thanks a lot guys! Looked a few of those public courses up and they look great! Can't wait, first time playing in Florida!!!!
