  1. Problem sorted. I went on the range and used the method the towel trick. But i tryed it without the towel to keep my arms close to body and it stopped the pull and the shanking. Ball striking improved :D
  2. Will give it a go on the range 2mo and see where i go from there.
  3. what you recommend to try correct this?
  4. Evening Since my last round of golf i went onto the range to try sort out the problem with my wedges etc and i need to stop the shanking i am even doing it with a chip beside the green. Also my normal shot is a fade and even when i open up my alginment more for a fade i keep hitting a pull draw which i dont want. Please help :(
  5. I have one and used it on my powerkaddy 3 wheeler and am going to sell this bag cause due to using the S72 this bag has gone downhill cause it has less pockets etc from last years model. I am going to get the proper cart bag cause it has alot more pockets and exactly what am needing it for.
  6. I go from my driver then next is my 3 iron. I have tryed 3 woods / 5 woods and hybrids and i just cant get hitting them consistant enough to keep in the bag :( think am going to try work over the winter and see if can carry a 4 wood loft club as am joining a longer club next year which i think would come into more play then.
  7. Exactly same as me mate :)
  8. well guys update from today I shot a 78 net 72 which means i made buffer this morning and shot 75 net 69 this afternoon the CSS is 70 for today and i know i got my handicap cut but there is still room for alot of improvement. I continued to follow the changes the pro made apart from one thing which i did do off the tee. Which was roll hands over on follow thru. Without doing this with my wedges and irons i was hitting them well specially my wedges which i was impressed about. Roll on 2mo and see what comes of it
  9. thats the thing am sure i would feel better mentally if i was hitting off normal grass at practice range but even my home course has mats at the practice ground :( i know its not the amount you hit but the quality but i was working on that tho and taking my time with each shot. Thats the thing the next 2 days i have 72 holes and am in 2 minds to play or not?
  10. Evening all My local proshop is selling the skycaddies and i was talking to the pro about them etc and he told me he charges £5 a round for members to have a shot. I though that was very cheap and took him up on the offer to see what there really like. Well due to them being banned at my local course there not allowed to be used in our 36 hole open 2mo so i went out on the front nine this even to try this gadget out and am well impressed i took longer than normal to play 9 holes but i was out with the note book and pen about 3 times a hole makes notes of yardages of the holes. Gives you the yardage to front / middle and back of green which is really good. Also if your course etc is a wee bit open and you end up pulling / pushing your driving onto the other fairway it still gives you the exact distance to green which is really good. The 150 markers on the course and nearly spot on but i was really take note of places where i normally drive and within 150 yards. Great bit of kit but going to look into it a bit more as there is a few question i would like answered before i decide to buy one.
  11. Well the last few days i have been practicing alot since my lesson last tuesday but i dont seem to get consistant shots etc. Its getting me down a wee bit. the thing is when i do connect it does fly very well. I have been at the range every day and then playing on course and today i ended up hitting 300 balls at the range over a long period and worked my way thru my bag ( took a long time ) been trying a few different things before i was happy but was unable to get correct feel all day due to playing off the mats etc Well The problem i was having before lesson was a push fade and meant i was looking a bit of distance right thru the range of clubs etc but now when i connect good its a very small fade which is really good as i always had a fade in my game neway. Think i just need to keep at it tho cause sometime am getting a pull now but thats due to me blocking with my follow thru as one of the things i need to adapt into my swing is like roll my hands over are contact which will cut out the push fade etc. I did leanr i need to slow down my swing a wee bit and watch the takeway of the club and keep eyes over the ball until contact as before i used to life my head early which caused the push fade etc. Thing is am a little worried about playing this weekend as i have 36 holes 2mo at my home course then another 36 holes at a links course on sunday. Am in 2 minds to withdraw and just continue pracitcing until i feel happy with my game.
  12. well guys i have been at the range this morning and within 24hours i was push fading the ball and didnt like the way the ball was shaping etc and now i am playing a nice wee draw which goes through the bag even the driver is alot better with a draw. I just need to get used to setting up with a wee dra due to am used to setting up left of the target for a long time. Havent played on course yet but will do 2mo with some friends and will report back
  13. Yes sorry alot of the fix's are at address and i also wasnt transfering my weight to my right foot which was causing a fault within my swing aswell which was causing another problem for the ball to turn into a push fade.
  14. exactly thats why i tryed my best with the other coach for a couple of weeks as alot of people say you get worse before you get better but i was shocked on the improvement i made today and fingers cross it can make a impact this weekend.
  15. made the moved and tryed a new coach today rather than my local coach who was district coach and all i can say is what a imrpovment will list thing with old and new coachs and you can see the difference yourself Old coach: 1) try keep left left more straighter on back swing 2) stronger left grip 3) closer stance 4)shoulder alignment While i was doing these i was stuggling to even hit the ball well during the lesson and really struggled last few weeks trying to adapot the above. I was striking the ball well but was adapoting a push fade and i got to the stage i was playing for this off the tee and with my woods off tee and even my wedges were fading. I was getting to the stage i didnt know what to do as seemed my local coach knew what he was doing tho but thought would try another opinion. He was even using video and showed me and looked like i was improving etc New coach: I only had a 30minute slot with him but was well worth it. Started off with a few shots to see where i could improve and the following was changed 1) grip was good as it was 2) widen stance 3) ball a wee bit back in stance 4) club more upright 5) hands forward at address a wee touch 6) transfer weight onto right foot on takeway / backswing 7) on follow through need to roll my hands over. Oh my god what a difference it has made in such a short time. I was able to take proper divots which were straight at target. the ball flight was good and the shots were straight aswell. am well impressed and also it felt alot better aswell. gave me confidence to stand over the ball and able to attack the target.
  16. only started playing again after being out for 5 yrs which i was playing off 4 before stopping. My goal is to practice alot more and get the goals i want get my handicap back and get down to 1 or scratch
  17. evening guys I have finally returned to the game of golf after 5 yrs out and i dont have a clue why i stopped. i was playing off 4 handicap before i stopped neway I have bought myself all brand new clubs to start again and tuesday just past ( 4 days ago ) i picked up my clubs and decided to go and play. I played ok ish but i was either pulling or pushing my irons and woods and through in a slice in there aswell. I played on wednesday and it was exact same so i decided to goto my local pro for a lesson to try cancel out any bad habits i was getting into after returning. He didnt work on the golf shot itself he worked on my posture and alignment etc. Things he correct within lesson: 1) shoulders slightly open so squared them up 2) Left hand of grip wasnt far enough round to preform the V 3) My hands at address were slightly to high 4) Line that club head was starting on I seemd to be hitting the ball good and solid but still performing the above shots infront of the pro. I was out today and was the same again I was hitting the ball alot more solid but do i keep working on this and put in the practice over the weekend or goback to the pro. for example i would pull my iron then next time i aim a bit right and i end up slicing my next one or pushing it and visversa when i push it etc any help would be great guys Regards Richie
  18. 4 days ago i picked up my ap2 irons with project x 5.5 shaft I have just returned to golf 4 days ago aswell after being out of the game for 5 yrs which i was a 4 handicapper before i stopped. still trying to get my form back but i really like how they feel. I seem to beable to get more height with them Lovely looking clubs and i ditched the Pitching wedge as am carrying 3 vokey wedges instead So far so good am really impressed with these irons and i really hope i can get my game back very soon as am hooked on the game again. The only thing i noticed with these that the loft on the clubs are a wee bit stronger than most oter clubs on the market so might take a wee bit to work out your yardage again for the set but be good to hear your views on these clubs and will update my review on them as soon as i improve
