Good players choose their club based on hole layout, and course design. why would anyone hit a driver on a 325 yrd tight par 4 when you could stripe your 3 wood down the middle 20 less yards. Furthermore I love playing against people of your nature and asking you to man up when my 3 wood is sitting in the fairway further then your manly drive.

I have a 52 only because from70-50 yards I can give a nice full 3/4 swing. I suck at controlling wedge distance so I carry 4 of them and no 4 iron.besides the p wedge I have the 50-54-58-62. This allows m full swings at various distances. I refuse to chip with the high loft 54 s generally highest loft I'll chip with.

It was the sldr we talked about with 12* face. Now I just need to rob a bank to afford it.

Yea I figured the swing speed and spin rate would be pretty reliable, as far as shot shape and distance idk. I Don't put much stock in those numbers if anything ill look at carry but even that doesn't make sense, it claimed a 109mph swing with a 9* launch angle carried 275 and rolled out to 302. I think that defys physics with such a low launch. It would look like a forever carrying line drive :-\

How accurate are the golfsmith, golfgalaxy simulators in terms of swing speed launch angle and ball speed? I liked the numbers I saw but am interested in what ya'll think of the accuracy of them.

Yes it got highjacked and taken for a ride. But google maps works great and its fun to know how far you drive the ball. I will be using it to map out courses I've never played before this upcoming season.

It a fun discussion. The biggest thing to me is playing them at my home course there is 2 par 5 that would give them a putt at eagle and 2 par 4 that would prob give them 1 putt at eagle. I feel there distance just puts me at big disadvantage. But that's cool davidfl got to play with graham.

Playing a pro in match play. Put the nerves aside. Would we really stand a chance against a pro. I heard from someone Phil is a +6 I'm a 9. So figure at my home course which is 6850 from the tips he is giving me not even a stroke a hole. I don't think it would even be close. Just a random conversation my friends and I have figured I would share with the community. Take your home course your handicap see what they would be giving you and laugh about how absurd the thought of playing them is. Again this is even if you cou ld muster together the nerves to swing the club :~(

Late to my own party. @rayG. I never think to measure my shot while playing besides my approach shot with range finder. There is just so much talk about driver distance I figured this would be a good way to know what I'm actually hitting. That way I don't say 1 thing in clubhouse and do something else on tee box. 1 more thing never humiliated, just humbled. Being humiliated over driver distance would be weak character. To be humiliated is a very extreme emotion 1 I reserve for sharting in white pants on the 3rd hole (have not experienced but could imagine this would be HUMILIATING)

This is not meant to be negative but for everyone who crushes the ball a slice of humble pie may be waiting for you at googlemaps. Just use the measurement device and find your regular course measure your appx spot fom tee to end point. I just had a humbling experience. Thought my blast were around 275-280 more like 260-270. Normal landing spots for me were 230 with 3 wood and 240-250 with driver. This is all after roll out. Still pleased with the conclusions and now don't sound like an idiot claiming 270-300.

It's just common sense black SHOES black socks. If they are SNEAKERS you can get away with white socks. I didn't know this was even something of a discussion. :-\

Fantastic Sunday in the middle of dec. winter blues ha. 68 degrees all the snow was gone. Greens were not terrible. Only down side no flag stick.

Warm water and a cloth work great. Preventive care works best. Wipe them down after each round, put a club brush on your bag and clean dirt out after each shot. It will become habit forming and clubs will always be clean where you need it most.

understandably I'll never mimic 1 of these guys swings. i could just hope it's a distorted attempt. my question related to how they move in back swing ect. moving off ball or keep center. steep club or flat. stuff like this. just something to compare to and go back to when swing starts to go awry.

don't know why video isn't working trying to reload it. it is a practice swing but in it you can see my problem and the top of the backswing, transition to down swing i do this funny move that i think is is hurting my ball flight.

I am using this winter to work on a swing to move forward with. I took lessons spring 2013 that had me working on getting my weight over my right foot on the back swing and shifting it all forward on the down swing to generate power (im a righty) over the course of the season I became inconsistent and had to put a lot of band aids on my swing to cover swing flaws. I have looked at front on views of my swing compared to the tour players and notice I move very far off the ball on the back swing to the point that my head gets behind the ball then everything almost lunges forward on the downswing. I noticed a lot of the tour players stay more centered or at least look more center in the videos Where i am going is. what kind of swing should I be looking for. I got so confused with all the information out there, about getting weight behind the ball, center pivot, or stack and tilt etc. there is so much info to decipher from. I will post my swing tonight in the the members swing section. Help. 9 HC shot shape is power slice with driver straight with irons longer ones tend to fade shorter ones tend to draw I think 1 of my many problems is taking the club to far inside and forcing an over the top downswing.

I find ogio bag's wood system ideal. 4 slots for driver 3 wood n 2 hybrids 1 larger slot for putter and 3 sections stacked like stadium seating. Longest section get 5-6-7 middle section gets 8-9-p and smallest gets 50-56-60. It's keeps clubs very organized and easy to find. The individual 14 slot bags I find are cumbersome. My friend has 1 I am not a fan. Check out ogio before sking decision
