  1. Did anyone see the Tiger interview w/ David Ferhty after the tourny was over. He kept calling Tiger a loser. The first time it was kind of funny but after about the 4th time even though Tiger was smiling I'm sure he was ready to kick him in the nutz !
  2. Yea have been watching him this year. A very good ball striker, if he can clean up his putting game a little bit he could be a dangerous player.
  3. I was thinking the EXACT same thing..lol Suprised he even made the show
  4. Did any body get a chance to watch the Bobby Jones - a stroke of genius on the golf channel tonight ? I was unaware he was the only player to ever win a grand slam and was the founder of Augusta National & the Masters.. Pretty inspiring story...good flick.
  5. Here is what worked for me. I started palying last summer & the first thing I did was take a lesson for basics (grip/stance/setup). 2nd I left the driver @ home I still dont carry because its the hardest club to hit. I can hit my 3 & 5 woods just as fas as all my buddies who use drivers and am more accurate. When I practiced @ the range I always worked mostly with irons. Alot of people go to the range & are hung up with hitting the driver only. @ best you will use that club once per whole. So IMO dont get caught up on hitting the driver. I practiced alot @ the range b4 ever going onto a course. Practiced pitching into a bucket in my back yard frequently & sometimes just go to the range & work on putting only. What's seamingly helping me more & more lately is just SLOWING everything down. Smooth take away & back swing & swing easy rather than trying to KILL the ball on every hit. Its one thing that is said often swing easy but its hard not to alot of times. But like most of the other members have said, just work on your short game its the most importnat part and everyting else will come along in due time. My short game is pretty decent and saves me alot of time. I play with friends and often here them comment how they hate short pitch shots because the either hit it too hard o too soft. These are actually my favorite shots in golf and thrive on them. I attribute that to my back yard pratice..lol G-luk !
  6. Not saying you have to use Lamkin but here is a nice sizing chart. Also info on when & how to regrip. http://www.lamkingrips.com/which-grip_wizard.php I regrip my own clubs its pretty easy after your do it once. Or if your not comfortabe your local shop can do it for you. Proper grip size and new grips do make you clubs feel entierly better !
  7. Look into a set of Wilson Staff ci6 or ci7 irons. You can prob get a good deal on them off ebay. Although the ci6 are a little older right now there were still voted best irons of the year, a couple years ago. Im sure you can get a set for under $200 right now. http://www.wilson.com/wilson/staff/p...34374302751731 http://www.golfreview.com/cat/irons/...4_2940crx.aspx
  8. Hey guys thanks for all the feedback, alot of different opinions here. I guess it comes down to being "golf" as there is not just one correct swing & are many differnt styles on tour. In any event I went to the range this past weekend & was working with hitting my woods. I decided not too tee them up at all & just hit them off the deck. This was the 1st time I have ever really practiced like this but had some excellent results. Never hit my woods so solid before. Followed up by playing 9 holes the next day, I teed off with 3wood, teeing it real low & had good results. I guess for me thats whats going to for now work teeing it low. Just hoping I can keep it going. Thanks again for all the insight..
  9. I tee off alot w/ a 3 wood becuase im much more accurate then with my driver. Generally I tee it up about a 1/2 inch, so my ? is when doing this should i still be playing the ball slightly ahead of center in my stance or more in the middle. What is the correct ball position for teeing off with a wood ? Thanks
  10. Tee it HIGH or low http://www.golf.com/golf/instruction...5244-0,00.html
  11. Yea I had the same feeling this past weekend as well. This guy next to me @ the range was just amazing. I asked him for a few pointers & after talking to him for a few minutes I find out he has been a pro for 9 years. In any event I've had a couple lessons in the past but for whatever reason whatever he told me in 5 minutes helpled me more than ever. I was hitting my 7 iron crisp w/ great trajectory and a slight draw about a 175 yards. Just felt amazing to strike the ball so well. Well I hope I can bottle that feeling up for next time out. Like some of the other post said one day its there and the next day its gone...lol
  12. Try starting your downswing with your hips first ! If your rigth handed your first move should be your hips turning left, then shoulders, then arms in that order. I almost feel that I am leaving my arms hang back a bit. I had the same problem and this helped me tremendously. I was getting the arms to involved too much w/ my swing early & wouldnt allow proper follow through because i was gettting stuck. Also when you do this just try SLOWING everything down a bit & swing easy. gluck
  13. ADAMS GOLF Tom Watson PVD Wedges................... I know Adams makes some nice clubs, but are these Tom Watson's anygood ? or just average clubs. Looking for some new wedges & came across a pretty good deal on these. Thanks for your input.
  14. I agree, I hit my neighbors Adams A3OS for the first time the other day. I was hitting his #3 250 yards with ease. I recently purchased a Clevland Halo which i do like. If it would have been a week sooner w/out ? I would have grabed the A3OS. And it def does have the SWEETEST ping sound ever ! Think I may still grab one anyway !
  15. Well lets start by saying I'm horrible with the driver. Just cant hit it for the life of me. Usually just a 100 yards shank off the tee. So I started experimenting with Woods & Hybrids lately. I hitting both over 200 yards off the tee, which is much more playable the a duffed driver shot of a 100 yads. At this point in time it just seems more logical to tee off with a wood or hybrid until I improve with the driver. With that said I hear that alot of guys dont eve carry woods anymore & have replaced them with hybrids. So my question is, would it be best to make the investment of a wood or two or just go w/ a hybrid or use both ? Currently my irons are 3-GW, mind you im decent with short & mid irons but have a harder time with the longer irons. Thanks.....
