  1. Glad to see Kuch either got some better PR counsel or just came to his senses. The donation to the area charities was overkill but at least this should start the process to put this episode behind him.
  2. This is a great illustration of why extrapolation is not a great form of logic sometimes. I think Matt second guessed his $2k bonus (on top of the initially agreed $3k) when he later offered another $15k after this episode started to gain attention. $15k should have been the starting point for figuring out the caddie's tourney bonus IMO. The negative publicity far outweighs the thousands Kuch saved ...
  3. When I hit drives like that hook, I never find the ball!
  4. Is Tiger wearing a white undershirt under his polo??
  5. Not professional at all IMO.
  6. Great fight on the 2nd nine by Rory.
  7. Great reception after Ben's 18. Watching his interview in Butler's cabin now. Such a throwback dude. Giving props to everybody but himself.
  8. Really interested to see how Rory answers right now. One of the 1st majors where he was a decided favorite; the chance to make history. Now he's on the cut line. No realistic shot at winning. Let's see how he fights it out.
  9. Phil has balls. He put a couple hundred grand into options that were set to be worthless in a matter of days. Instead they multiply in value. He plays with money like his shot selection on par 5's! More seriously, without emails or testimony from someone, there will be no way to prove Phil broke any laws. Good timing isn't illegal.
  10. +1. I wonder if that maneuver was after a lot of obfuscation on the part of Phil and his legal team. Phil and Co. really don't have to cooperate fully w/o subpoenas or charges.
  11. I finally sat down and read some of the allegations in details. Realizing they're just allegations, I can see how Phil has some explaining to do. 4 days before the their expiration Mickelson and this big time gambler, who self-reportedly pulls down $50~$60mm per year in his gambling and other biz activities, buy a gang of Clorox call options, giving them the right to buy Clorox at a set price. Then Carl Icahn announces his big stake in the company and the shares spike up in price. 1. You don't buy out of the money call options with 4 days left in real size unless you KNOW the price will rise. If price doesn't rise, you lose your $$. 2. They bought close to 5,000 calls, which gave them options on 500,000 shares at $70. 3. Icahn announces his stake and offer to takeover the company and shares spike well above $70. Options went from about $50 per option to over $300 per option. A $230k investment became worth roughly $1.4mm. 4. Nobody's asking this question in the golf media loudly yet: why is Phil hanging around with this big time gambler?? If this were MJ or Lebron, they'd get SKEWERED by the media. Gamblers and athletes don't mix. The timing of all this stuff is just too curious. The trade was too brazen and the profit too large. If no charges are ever announced, I'll be shocked. Somebody knew and somebody made a big profit on illegal material non public information. On the face of it, this could be in the same league as the the Tiger Woods situation. possibly worse.
  12. Phil's attorney said he's not the subject of any investigation but the reports seem to indicate otherwise. I will definitely follow this to see what stage of the investigation the feds are in.
  13. SMH. Joe, I have to question your recollection of Tiger calling Sergio a racial slur. I highly doubt that occurred because it would've been a big story.
  14. Whether the comment was or was not racist is now just a matter of what label we want to put on the situation. To me, Sergio was trying to take a negative shot a Tiger based on part of Tiger's racial makeup. I think that's pretty clear. I don't need everyone to agree to label the comment "racist" for the comment to be considered unacceptable and despicable. I just read that Sergio's Taylormade deal is worth $5 million per year! No wonder he could hardly sleep!
  15. Fortunately, I found this story after I got sick of hearing of this latest episode of the Tiger/Sergio saga: http://gma.yahoo.com/blogs/abc-blogs/okla-tornado-survivors-reunited-dramatic-photo-133355780.html?vp=1 It made my day.
