Dude- that is hilarious. If someone gets offended about that they should never leave the house. I like it when companies find creative marketing strategies. This one reminds me of another funny one, even if it is real. www.colonblow.com . Talk about over the top. Be sure to check out the testimonials.

I say 2-14 or 3-13. You'll have to get lucky to win that many.

I was thinking that the Sand Trap, being a great golfer community, might be a great place to have an "Events and Announcements" section. I've read a number of people posting on here looking for golfing partners, and have read a number of people spamming up tourneys and the such (their only posts). I'm involved in a number of charity tourneys in Central Virginia, and would love to get some Sand Trap advertising and support for these causes, as well as to link up with other sand trap members for golf tourneys in my area. I don't search around for tourneys to play in much, as I work a lot, but do scan the Sand Trap a bunch, and could not think of a better place for this. Instead of just having a spammer place, maybe only allow people with a certain # of posts to post announcements, or find some other criteria for determing how to stop the spamming, and keeping this a member benefit section. Just a suggestion that I think would add to the Trap in a positive way.

Don't forget about Chad Campbell- he can play in any wind.

I also like us to win the first match, but don't like the our chances at all in match #4. That Clarke/ Westwood teams scares the crap out of me for some reason. For that matter, I don't like any of the matches in the morning except Tiger/ Furyk. I hate to say it, as I'm bleeding Red, White, and Blue, but I see a 1-3 or 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 disadvantage after the morning session. If we are gonna get that second point, I think it is the second match in a squeeker- with JJ Henry playing out of his mind.

"Damn that was a stank El Nino I just dropped." or "Wait about five minutes, and then come out, Phil." or "I really hope that was Elin."

I got my confirmation on September 7 that they would be shipping me one, and I hope it does indeed show. We'll see........

I really don't think the Steelers will make it back, that was the most "reaching" assumption I was making.
-
They did not an apology for the Superbowl, unlike Seattle. I thought the Cooley Family owned the Steelers, but didn't know, hence the question mark. I don't think the better tem won, I think the Steelers got hot a a great time. However, I really hope that the Steekers make it back to the Superbowl for a rematch this year. Good luck for every game but 1 for the rest of the year.

Can you half step Project X's????
Wood replied to awtryau89's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
What he means (I think) by half stepping is putting the 3 iron shaft in th 4 iron head, the 4 iron shaft in the 5 iron head, etc.... This causes you to split the "steps" in levels of stiffness taking the 6.0 to 5.65. I hope I'm right about this as it makes sense to me. My concern would be the shaft length being with the wrong club head, but I guess fitters would adjust this as necesary. -
That teeny little waist in the driving pick + the swing position does it for me. Wow, I'm gonna have to do a Nordgren vote now!

Picked up a used Scotty Newport II...

You want to buy a newort pro platinum mid slant? I'll get some pics this weekend and post them. -
What does Cowler and Cooley (?) do to make officials disregard the rules of football when they take the field? Apparently, they are allowed to move the goal line to wherever they want it so their big non helmit wearing quarterback can just "get close"; fall down and have fake offensive pass interference called; get a mystery hold called in their favor to squash a drive; and NOW they don't need to stay in bounds or allow opponents to challenge plays. I guess the rest of the league will get to feel what it is like to be a Seahawk. I may have some bitterness issues to resolve..........

Where are the pics?

I would love to have Luke Donald's swing. It NEVER breaks plane, or seems hurried. If I were 8'6" like Els, I'd want his swing.

Maybe someone can help. I'm going to reshaft away on my trusty MP-30's, dumping the stock tru tempers for some sort of rifled upgrade, but I can't get past the technical jargon on any of the websites. If anyone can help, or give a recomendation as to where I should start the auditions, it would be appreciated. Rifle vs. project x? I'm only interested in metal shafts. Info to help you help me: Carry distances: 9 iron- @ 150-155 6 iron- @ 180-185 3 iron- @ 210-215 I have a traditional one plane swing, with a moderatley high swing speed. Work the ball both ways, but favor a high fade with my irons when all shots are available.

I was thinking of picking one of these up off E-Bay, but wanted to know if anyone had any experience with them, good or bad.

Natalie Gulbus gives me 2 PERFECT reasons to watch. I still watch tourneys sans Tiger, but against a "loaded" LPGA field I would definately watch the latter.

CRANS-SUR-SIERRE, Switzerland (Reuters) - The day before Michelle Wie makes her European Tour debut, Sergio Garcia raised doubts on Wednesday about the 16-year-old prodigy's chances of ever winning a men's event. He said it was unlikely any woman would win on the men's circuit. TRUE "Never say never," Garcia said at a news conference before beginning the defense of his European Masters title. But I think there is a big chance it may not happen." TRUE "The way I see it, the normal courses we play, when they (women) play, it is like a U.S. Open course..."On a U.S. Open course you play really well and shoot five-under. You don't shoot 14, 18-under, 20-under."For a woman to shoot that kind of score, unless something unbelievable comes around, on our courses, where even our short courses are long for them, it is pretty difficult." TRUE Wie's chances at the high Crans-sur-Sierre course were hampered by the way she hit the ball. Garcia, who practiced with the American teenager on Tuesday, said."I feel her ball flight, with the altitude, coming into the greens, might be too low. "If she had a higher ball flight she would be hitting 15 or 20 yards longer. The important thing here is to get the ball in the air so it stays in the air as much as possible," Garcia said. "I think she might struggle unless it rains." TRUE Garcia believes Wie's participation is good for the men's game, however. "I think anything that helps the game is good for golf, anything, no matter what. TRUE The Spaniard said he was not looking upon Wie, who has yet to win a women's event, let alone a men's, as a "novelty" entry this week. "I don't see them as a female player, I see them as golfers." TRUE I'm struggling to see ANYTHING wrong with his comments, except he was maybe being overly politically correct. I don't see anything wrong with the tournament getting extra publicity (for 2 days anyway ). I don't see see anything wrong with Sergio speaking his mind when asked. It would be a bigger story if every time someone asked a top golfer about Wie playing in the PGA events they said "No comment" and walked off. Then it would be a snub. I do secretly hope that Wie somehow is closer to the cut than Sergio- that would be frickin' hilarious.

I'm guessing you have the wrong guy, as I'm further down in VA from DC. Buy a new driver, and test out some new irons. Don't commit or think about buying the irons, but test some out. You'll love the forgiveness.
-
Did you ever get you're free coffee maker?
-
Depends what golf shop and talk show you are talking about.
-
Immediatly, in my opinion. A new driver, and a set of more forgiving, yet performance enhanced irons is a boost to any game, especially if you are not playing enough to keep grooved in on those pea sized sweet spots. If we are talking about wanting to improve your game, and you are gonna make a commitment to it, the answer is simple. THE NEW TECHNOLOGY IS WORTH THE MONEY. If Sam Snead were magically 30 years old today, and could hit his old clubs or the new technology, I'm positive he would choose today's weapons even though he almost never missed the dead middle of his clubface. There is a real advantage to the technology over OLD blades and woods. I am no way saying someone needs to upgrade every year, although I might if money meant nothing to me..... . How profound.

With the Rapture release, I think it is a fair bet you'll see the G-5 drop down in to the $239-$259 range within the next couple months, maybe lower. Your shop also may be ready to get rid of some G-5 demo's at a reduced price to make room for their Rapture replacements. You can find one on E-Bay now for around $200. I personally, had a higher launch angle and more carry distance with the G-5 than I did with the G-2. I also liked the look of the club at address more. Neither did for my game what the Taylor Made drivers have produced. It seems to me that we (golfers) are nearly crazed with keeping up with the latest and greatest technology, and with a little purchasing self control, could cost ourselves a lot less money for nearly identical technology in many cases. Their have been some major breakthroughs (movable weights, ultra thin faces, etc.) but I haven't seen anything introduced this year that had been a market changer.

If I'm not mistaken, this is a shorter course, set up by Europe to "disable" the bomber American length off the tee. Granted, it will still be long enough to need driver some times for Tiger, but not as necesary as usual. I think Furyk will be OK from the fairway 30-70 yards back of his usual position as he is one of the best iron players on the planet.
