Funny thing is I always see their free hybrid add on the golf channel. I personally love my Wilson hybrids but free is free....guaranteed thyll want,my card number so ill opt out. When it sounds too good to be true it normally is.

Do you lose anything with the "easy to hit" hynrid.

Yoi also get better kick with hybrids as opposed to longer irons due to the stiff tipped graphite but demo for sure. The Wilsons I picked up at Sports Authorty and had my eye on some Adams hybrids but after demoing the Wilsons I saved about 50 bucks. -
Thanks Ill have to look into it.

I was just wondring. I know in theory its supposed to help with focus and there was a big issue with the Seattle Seahawks big corner backs using but I wonder if it would improve focus as an added advantage on the golf course. Anyone familiar with PGA doping rules? I know they test but I wonder if tts narcotics only.

I started using blades at age 7.

I carry 2 hybrids in the bag....(the ones in my avatar pic ). Most people I know have at least one in the bag. I have a 19 degre Wilson Pro Staff and a 22 degree deep red and they both hit pure off the carpet. Definitely demo before buying though you can save a chunk of,change by doing so. Heck even Alien makes a decent hybrid. -
Regardless.......even for a gi set it looks extremely oversized IMO.
-
Because of the size. Bigger clubheads weigh more. The hosel alone is like 4inches long let alone the the canoe paddle for the head itself but youre right bro.....it might be chrome painted, wood for all I know lol.
-
It looks like a freakin stop sign bro. That club head is EXTREMELY over sized.

A buddy of mine sold me the black dot G5s slightly used back i 08 for 200 bucks (he was going through a divorce) but I dont know man I personally think Ping irons are over rated IMHO. I mean they hit pure and all but so do the Wilsons I was playing at the time and the Adams set I have now. They certainly didnt perform any better. I guess if you have a consistent swing and make good contact like me then it all boils down to personal preference but I will spend more on a driver just not irons. Drivers are not a dime a dozen like most game improvement iron sets for mid handicappers.

Basically the 1208 irons are a,spitting image of the original A7 set but with a classic 4,5 and 6 iron. Even the cavity in the shorter irons have the same vibration dampening medallion only its black an red instead of gold. I think they used the same design yet left out the hybrids for a cheaper price. Being the budget golfer that I am Im always looking for good deals online...in fact they nicknamed me Mr. Twilight at my local track. Lol
-
Did you get the 4 & 5 mixed hybrid set because I like a traditional 4 iron. My local pro is very old school in fact I think he still has a hickory shafted 1 iron in the bag lol. The older I get I have noticed grabbing the 3 or 4 hybrid more often like the pro staff 3 and the fat shafted deep red 4 you see on my avatar pic, they both hit very pure. The Adams I picked up for value alone as I still have the black dot G5 irons on stand by. Thats how good these Adams irons have performed....I know Ive,been promoting a lot lately but they really are sweet. You guy probably think Im an Adams sales rep by now lol. Razr x black good sticks but Im a little old school so all the aluminum and poly eurathane turns me off in them but I bet they do hit great.

But giga golf is probably the best set of knockoffs from what i hear.
-
My only gripe was the paint inside the numbers chips off fairly easily but I usually take a pretty good divot with my irons and the course I play has alot of crushed rock under the turf in patches but its not really noticeable and has zero effect on performance. Other than that its almost a spitting image of the ping g5, milled with the same 431 steel but Adams is a trusted name in golf so its a sweet design. I would steer of knock offs though.....my buddy had the head of a 7 iron snap, completely in half of a pine meadow set lol.
-
Jcruzanski, you should seriously look into the Adams 1208 set 4-gw. It comes in the +1 and they are only 199.00, however they originally sold for 399.00. I bougt a set a few weeks bck on ebay and they hit absolutely pure. You wont be dissapointed.
-
The club head looks extremely heavy and oversized and the shafts look to be cheaply constructed. My steel shafts are hollowed out. Then again I play Adams 1208 irons which are of better quality than Dunlop IMO but Dunlop makes some decent fairway woods with graphite shafts that I remember hiting a while back.

Longer with more control.

Im a lefty and I chucked the 5w out of the bag years ago. I carry the same 4-GW set up of irons in the bag (Adams 1208 steel uniflex). I use a 19 degree Wilson pro staff multi metal hybrid to fill the gap. Its pure smoke off the tee or carpet. I also carry a 22 degree deep red hybrid #4 due to the fact that it carries a little further than my 4 iron. Check out 2nd swing on ebay they have a pretty good variety for lefties. In fact nobody was paying attention and I snagged a sweet dunlop 3wood for 2 bucks last week.:-)

Well Ive actually only gone through 2 sets in the past 20 years which were a set of Wilson 1200 GE (great irons btw), Ping G5s and just recently added th adams 1208 set, which are almost a spitting image of the Pings in appearance, weight and feel yet the new Adams have a much higher trajectory and to me they seem to be more workable. They both have nice perimeter wheighting but the Adams clubs just feel perfect for my swing. And btw the Wilsons and Pings botb had great pop during the first five years or so and the feel just steadily declined....even after a re shafting and groove sharpening. Also the Adams have a thicker sole than both previou sets but not much thicker than the Pings. The faces were practically identical in size in all three and the Adams and Pings both used the same 431 steel. I guess my engineer buddy was right about the tiny microscopic cracks and fizzures that form in the club heads after repeated use and impact..sorry but I think I will side with the engineer on this one.
-
Buy new or good, slightly used when you can though because irons do lose pop after 20 years of constant, weekly play. Or in your case 25 years lol.

Flop shot vs. Pitch shot out of the rough
Micah replied to stb5089's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
It depends on the lie but if it was sitting up I would bump and run it as close as I could get to the hole but if it was pinned deep in the thistle I would grab my vokey 60 degree and stab it out of there with enough spin to get it to check which is normally no problem for me. I also have a mallet chipper that slides through the thick cabbage pretty good but I hardly ever use it any more unless im on the fringe and have a fairly decent lie.:-D -
Then go take a crash course in architecture or 9th grade metal shop for that matter.
-
And the cool thing is they are standard sized club heads, not over sized, with a standard 4 & 5 and not a mixed hybrid set that youll see with most Adams iron sets. I do carry a 3 & 4 hybrid in the bag but thats because my bag is customized to my liking, unlike a box set of cheap run of the mill clubs that are made with poor quality and materials. And dont buy knockoffs or replicants.....do your homework but I wouldnt steer ya wrong these are premium, well crafted irons.

Anyone but Bubba Watson. Hes got the most fundamentally, incorrect, ugly swing on tour but is still one heckuva ball striker. Lol.
