  1. Dude.. you're a 12 based on an extrapolated score over a single 9 hole round.. Using this method you're one bad chip away from a 14 hc.. One slice away from an 18. Maybe I should play one hole, birdie it, quit and then go on the forum and claim to be a +18.0 handicap. Apparently it is that easy.
  2. With 6/9 GIR, 18 putts, 170y 9I shots on a short, easy par 72 and then shooting +6 on 9 holes (nearly bogey per hole).. yes, you definitely should start keeping track of your stats and learn how to interpret them. This little bit of information alone shows your short game and putting needs serious work.
  3. Wow, if you implode in a tournament as fast as you did in this thread, you'll have a hard time making it through 36 holes, let alone 72. How about we forget about the handicap for a second. What's your GIR%, FHit%, U/D%, Avg putt distance etc...?
  4. TM Superquad driver - used $150,- TM r7 ti 5W and 3W - $50 each. used bin at pro-shop. Near mint condition. TM RAC OS 2005 - $220,- globalgolf.com - 4 stars I can easily say my woods were the best deal I have ever found.
  5. So true. Many times I have seen someone set up in the box next to me on the range, whip out their driver and start swinging as hard as they can and every single time their swing mechanics were horrible and their flight path was all over the place. It never fails. I am more impressed by the guy who has a simple, effortless swing and puts the ball out there 250y in the fairway. Two days ago I played with a 5'6" guy who swung his driver almost like a pitch shot. No follow through to speak of, low ball flight, lots of roll. Several times he outdrove me simply because his swing was efficient, great into the wind and his accuracy allowed him to cut off doglegs with ease. I was that dude that only cared about distance for a while, until I discovered that the 'softer' I swung, the straighter and longer the ball would go. So, let people swing for the fences, that's probably one of the reasons WHY they are 20hc.
  6. No, at least 325. This is the internet.
  7. I'm going to write this off as a coincidence, but I did have an interesting experience after reading this book. I'm on the range trying to get back in the groove after two weeks of not swinging a club. I'm battling a hard draw that lands 30y left of target. Then I remember the book and what it says about trusting your swing and focussing on a very specific target. So, I focus on the top of the cone of the 150y marker before my shot. #1: 5y long-left, #2: hit the cone!, #3: 4y short, #4: 3y right, #5: 10y right Talk about immediate results :) Of course I get excited and lose concentration, so I did not manage to maintain that level of accuracy. I'll take it to the course next time and see what happens.
  8. You do realize that if you slice a 300 yard drive, that same ball would have gone 350+ yards if straight, right? A slice, for me, takes at least 30 to 50 yards off my carry. It also produces less roll. That argument is bogus. I totally agree that if you have the technique to AVERAGE 300 yards, you should be capable of chipping a ball properly.
  9. r7 Superquad: $150 (Golfsmith - used) r7 Ti 3W + 5W: $100 (local golf pro shop) Rac OS 2005 (3i-PW): $200 (globalgolf) TM W: $0 - on loan XG #7: $120 (new, actually $0 because it was a gift) Warbird bag: $80 (friend - used) Misc stuff: $100 (balls, shag bag, gloves etc..) $550 total I bought the 3W & 5W just minutes ago at the local golf course pro shop for $50,- each.. The lady behind the counter hesitated for a second, but admitted that the price tag was $50 on both of them and congratulated me with the deal. Both ex-demo models with minor scratches.
